Wattay International Airport

Very efficient airport. There is also a highly recommended restaurant that sits just inside the international terminal, near the doors to domestic (ABC Gasteau) that has a collection of international, Lao, and Thai cuisine. Lots of coffee and tea shops, and several options inside the departure area.

Very small airport with only a few places to eat or drink coffee. I had a good experience with check in and security, very quick and comfortable. The are a lot of sockets to charge your battery but unfortunately in the walls not close to the chairs. I travelled to Hanoi , very comfortable Lao airlines.

Watty International Airport pleasantly surprised me with its serene atmosphere and welcoming ambiance. Despite not being overly busy, the staff displayed exceptional friendliness and efficiency. Security procedures were swift, making for a hassle-free travel experience. Overall, a delightful departure from the usual bustling airport chaos.

Very close to the city and you can book a can for 80-100k kipp. Pretty small and things like currency exchange aren’t open in the morning. Small Duty free open though.

Very small airport. Clean. I don't have much expectation as it is just a place for arrival / departure .

Advices for departure . The shops before entering clearance is selling coffee powders / fruit snacks in KIP and it is CHEAPER . Once passed clearance it is all in USD with about 20 to 30 percent raised.

The best price is in town. A few thousand KIP cheaper when compare airport pre departure prices.

Can’t speak as a foreigner but as a local it’s a nice airport with no frills, you can go from check in straight to your gate in about ~5 minutes if you use the immigration autogate. There’s a few duty free and coffee shops inside which are okay but make sure to eat outside as food is expensive.

Took a short hop from Vientiane to Luang Prabag on Lao Skyway. A very easy (zero lines) check in/security process. The airport is clean and feels new. The lounge in the domestic departures had a 50k Kip (3 USD) deal - had the place to myself for most of the stay (a bit over an hour).

Don't let it fools you by the look. The airport is small and old, the Business Lounge is horrible but there's one hidden charm. The THING that earns a 5 stars rating is in the buffet restaurant on the 3rd floor. Don't go through custom, take the lift to the 3rd fl. Pay 10 dollars and you'll get: salmon sashimi, steak, load of Laos food, hot tom yum cooked with your selection of food, fruits, sweet, and a hood selection of wines (extra cost). This one beats any airport any day IMO.

The airport is small but full of food court. The price is reasonable and maybe cheap in compare with other airports. Especially, “banh mi” here is out of this world. It is just 32.000LAK, full of topping, super big and long “banh mi”. And I take the flight of Vietnam Airlines, they served me the most delicious food onboard ever I had tried. Thank you Vietnam Airlines, thank you Laos.

Small airport, relatively easy to navigate and had a smooth processing all around, goes a long way if you're able muster few sentences in Lao + Thai

Very modern, fresh and clean airport. We came here and everything was very quick. Friendly staff.
You can take bus from the airport to the main bus station via city center for 15.000k (1,5€ 1,7$) very easy. Person in the bus will tell you in advance where to leave
Close to the city

Most locals seem to turn up 1 hour before take off, so it was good to arrive a bit earlier.
Check in and security took only 10 minutes total.
