Very nice National Park. We did not venture up to the upper levels but we will make that adventure the next time we come to the park. A very peaceful, tranquil setting. We enjoyed it very much.

This is the home of the mythological giant snake known as ‘Naga’ - located in Thailand’s Phu Langka national park. Before leaving for the walk be mindful that this trek will take almost 4 hours for people who are fit, and it will take longer for those who walk slower. Some parts of the climb up the stairs are steep. Access is only allowed with a tour guide. The guides are volunteers and they can be found near where you pay the small fee for entry to the park. Once you complete your walk to the Naka Cave, you’ll be required to pay (or tip) the guide - price guide for the tip 800 BAHT (US$30). Stay near the guide during the walk, and respect their instructions. This mountain is located in the northern area of the province Nakhon Phanom. It was a 4km walk to the top of the mountain. The Naga Cave, a popular tourist spot for Thais to visit - also spelt 'Naka'. The rock formations have been sun-cracked due to the extreme day and night temperatures that caused the mountain rock to expand and contract. Water eroded the edges of the cracks and resulted in the rock to look like snake scales. The view from the top overlooks the Mekong River the mountains of Laos. #NagaCave #NakaCave #Thailand

Nice trails for nature walk, with 3 levels of distance and difficulty to choose from. A moderate one to Nakee Cave is worth a try (1.5km simple walk + 800m uphill). Interesting rock shapes and texture that resemble the head and skin of the legendary giant snake. Astonishing view. Local, voluntary guides are friendly and eager to give you bits of local knowledge along the way.

I am definitely going back. We visited Nakee Cave (3 hour round trip walk) although a moderate/average level of fitness is required plus good fotwear. You have to have a guide, and after doing the walk I can understand why. We went in the dry season (June) so missed the spectular waterfalls... so definitely heading back in Sept/ Oct. Near the entrance is a great local restaurant (Nakee Station) and definitely recommend this for a meal and some recovery.

There's a beautiful waterfall along the trail in the rainy season. NaKee cave is located on the top of the mountain. The trail going up the mountain is not that bad but coming down is very rough. You need to hire a local guide at the front entrance to go up.

Great park to spend a few hours walking surrounded by thick forest, exploring caves and enjoying the waterfalls and swimming holes.

Great for hiking. Need trail assistance to guide us cut across from pagoda view top to Nakee side. Off the beaten track. Nice experience for approximately 10km round trip and camping in Phulangka national park after back down to the bottom of the hill for only 225+30฿ for the tent. Then ride to Beungkan (the other side of national park) hike up to see Naga cave in the next morning. Otherwise, you could hike across the mountain from Nakee side(Nakornphanom) to Naga side(Beungkan) for only 11km. in 1 day.

Beautiful parc, but the round is small, you can do it in one hour. You will have a beautiful view on the damn.
Also beautiful spot for do picture.

This is a beautiful place with waterfalls in season but mostly rock formations that resemble dragon heads and bodies. In fact there are 9 of them and they are stunning. You hike along a trail about 3km that is well made in parts and a rock and dirt scramble using ropes in the final part. There are many stairs and you need to have a basic level of fitness. The volunteer guide said it was a 3 hour hike. The track needs to be improved as the number of visitors in increasing, otherwise damage will be done to the site. There is a temple cave for the devotees and it partly seems to be about love of nature, reverence and the ubiquitous Thai good luck. Thais pay 10 baht and foreigners pay that times 20, so 200 baht. Hmmm. It's worth it, but there is a sadistic nationalism there methinks.

Great experience in the national park! Its a 2.5hrs walk that get you some sweat surely as you need some of effort of climbing to make you feel you are achieving something here (which you are! ) it’s a beautiful and cool surrounding of a typical tropical forrest. Don’t feel too intimidating; My group was a combination of 30s and 60++ and all can make it without any noticeable danger.

Overall if you love nature, you’ll enjoy.

Very nice park and very friendly staff. I was there in December and i was the only camper in the park at the night this friendly dog came to visit me. Otherwise it was just the rangers and me camping alone in the park. There is many things to see around here so you should come and stay a night or two and enjoy all the nice thing to see around here.

A park with well maintained trails. The beginning part of the trail provides explanation on the local flora and geology of the terrain. The park also has religious relevance.
