Despite the restaurant dining room being full the staff kindly set up an extra table near the entrance so I could have dinner. The food and service were exceptional, and fantastic value for money.

AL HAYAAL cafe restaurant in Mardin is a hidden gem! The ambiance is charming, the food is delicious, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend trying their Mardin tabağı. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a taste of Mardin's cuisine. I'll definitely be coming back.

The restaurant is located at the centre of old town where we could see the mosque tower just right in front. It has rooftop open dining space where we get to enjoy the amazing mesopotamia view. The food is super delicious. The restaurant owner patiently explained the local dishes to us. If you are looking for good food, good view , then this is a must go place. The host is really awesome.

Incredibly good food. It has become our favourite eating place in Mardin.
Breakfast or dinner, both delicious. Great spot for people watching, or looking out across the Mesopotamian plain.
Special mention to the lamb omelette and the pirzola.

Cozy restaurant where to taste local typical dishes.Friendly and helpful staff. Central but quiet location. An entrance staircase leads to the restaurant which is located higher than the road. Absolutely recommended in Mardin. We have been twice to taste all the many dishes on offer. Super the Gozleme and stuffed aubergines.

We were looking for quite relaxing terras with no music and we found this great place, we enjoyed the view and the food. We ordered Mardin tabağı that contained different dishes from the local Mardin cuisine also Tahinli Tavuk with was very a bit different than usual in a positive way. The staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Excellent restaurant with local cuisine and an amazing view. The chef offered us tasty vegetarian and vegan options inspired by the Arabic and Turkish cuisine. The staff is very attentive and friendly, we already came back three times.

The food is incredible here. Definitely recommend the "kaburga dolmasi", super delicious and surprising presentation. The view on the rooftop is quite open. Service also made us very satisfied. It was a perfect ending for our trip to the east!

We've been traveling around Turkey for three months and had many great meals but this restaurant has to be the best serving fantastic local food at a very reasonable price, highly recommend and would definitely go back ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the most unique & emotional experiences on my trip, the owner Minne Hanm and our lady from the group Hasija connected instantly even though they didn't understand each other because of different languages (turkish and bosnian). They hugged and cried, it was an emotional meeting. Hasija described it best: "like when two same souls which were together in Ezel, meet each other in this world, they instantly recognise & connect even through they don't know each other in this world". Afterwards we ate mevlud biscuits which Minne gave to us... She also showed us all the beautiful places in her restaurant to take photos... Also the view is amazing, you can see the beautiful minaret, valley and sunset...

During our stay in Mardin we went twice to have dinner there, because the food was so delicious and the service was very good. If you like meat, definitely try the stuffed rips!

Excellent place, best we found in Mardin over four days. Service is good, but the food is divine. Try the Mardin plate for a taste of all the best from the region. The Beyran Corbasi soup is incredible too. No where else came close.

Nice place, gentle and helpful staff, oriental dishes, with valid variety also for vegetarians. Superb quality and good price. You only have to wait a little bit because the plates are prepared the moment you order. I highly recommend it. We stayed two days in Mardin and had lunch twice at Al Hayaal. Very good!

The food was traditional and makes you feel like you've been invited to a home with well made food and family recipes. The lady was very kind as she checks on her customers to make sure everyone was happy. We loved it. Mardin has limited food options and many are not so good. This place was excellent.

The location of this restaurant seems pretty stunning. You can see the whole Mesopotamia area. Plus, the Mardin plate deserves a special boast. I have been to this place three or four times and whenever I visit the old Mardin, I always drop in here to taste the local rice (Haşu) and İçli Köfte. Staff here is also helpful and sensitive to different preferences of taste. I really appreciate.
