Amazing place. There's main paid entrance for 75 TL. You can enter for free if you cross the bridge and enter on other side of the river. This entrance is in the middle of the valley - there's also another part of the valley if you go to opposite direction - also very beautiful with free trail.
Make sure you have good shoes for hiking.

Be prepared for a long hike,
Parking is for 30 tl, restaurants outside on the rivers, so you might do not want to go when full, I think it is a kinda endless trail. After going up to check the church and graves

THIS is the entrance to the park that you should use if you have your own transport. If you enter the park at the location called 'Ihlara Valley', you will have to negotiate a ridiculous number (Edit: 350) of steps down and then back up into the valley, whereas at this location the parking lot is level with the valley and will save you a lot of heartache going down and back up.

The valley is absolutely worth the trip it's beautiful with a beautiful river, but as usual for Turkey, arrive as early as you possibly can to avoid the massive numbers of crowds that will show up after around noon.

Protip: The trail on the far side of the river is just as nice and has far fewer people.

The valley is part of the Green Tour. It is a beautiful scenic walk through nature next to a river. Along the way there is a rest spot with bathrooms, and where you can have drinks or something to eat at tables on the river.

Amazing scenery and nature...if you have kids with you...chose to go down the valley with car...you can eat and sit on wooden places on water...in shadow..than go in the museum. It's free if you have museum card..inside the open air museum, church is incredible..go upstairs..the scenery up there is amazing...2 km after the spot, find the little cafe with tables on water. Take off your shoes and sit in the cold water..drink fresh orange juice with gozleme..

I did a green tour to this valley, however it was just a short visit. We only went to the stm george church then went back for lunch on the restaurant before the entrance. It was so bad since i wanted to visit the whole hiking trail, maybe next time.

It's a nice place to spend there a whole day even!
You can have a walk along the river from one side and river from the other side, especially at spring and summer this valley looks amazing:)
There are a lot of cafes above the water and they are worth visiting too - after a walk you can sit and relax there and to look at the river and beautiful surroundings!

This is the middle of the Ihlara valley. It can be reached by car and there are restaurants on the river flowing in the valley bed.

This is the best few Kms of the Ilhara valley trek. This is approximately 3km long with tickets to enter on either end. There is a small museum shop at the entrance. The walk is lovely and flat along the river. You will come across a cafes along the walk where you can buy food, juices, water etc. There is toilet facility for 2TRY. The cafes have benches inside cabins which are very pretty. Along the way you can see the canyon like rock formations. There are some wooden bridges as well. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Pretty nice, conserved park, with many interesting rock formations, exhuberant vegatation, easy trails, and history all around. Very nice restaurants outside with tables over a very clean beautifull river.

Belisarma Village is a good middle point for access to the Ihlara Valley. If you are on your own and want to walk the valley without having a bus to return you to your car, consider starting here. We weren't sure if we wanted to do the whole valley (14 km each way} so we parked in the public parking lots available at the bottom of the valley (wend your way down through the village--you'll get there eventually) and walked to Ihlara and back.

Having done half the valley we decided to forego the northern portion. And having the car in the middle allowed us a quicker retreat in case of rain.

The valley itself is a wonderful, relaxing hike. Probably not worth doing 28 km of it, but certainly worth the 14 km walk....

Beautiful nature.
Alley next to the river. Definitely go for a walk and visit the small church there. At the end you can visit restaurants directly on the river.

The grandcanyons long lost cousin, a beautiful picturesque canyon with a flowing stream running through it with beautiful trees growing everywhere.

On top of that there are interesting rockformations. The piece de resistance has to be the churches carved inside the rockfaces littered all over the valley.

Oh and also they got a nice cafe and a restaurant along the way.

Good thing about this vally is you can come on your car, park car and do hiking, there is strram in this vally and many cafes and resturant, they have sitting place on flowing water, once u sit on specified place you feel like you are floating on water. Enjoy lunch with sound of stream, birds and natural inhabitants. You will find many tourist there and again visit before 5pm.
