Very nice museum packed with a lot of historical artifacts. Even has a room dedicated to showing fake items found in the market. A must see when visiting Mardin. The building itself that the museum is housed is a great phot opp. Very nice and helpful staff. My wife and I bought the Türkiye Museum Pass, which was a very good deal for our three week tour.

Nice museum with lots of Mesopotamia civilizations in it. Located near Cumhuriyet Sq, easy to access. There are too many impressive artifacts some dating 4000 years or so. English translation is available too. It is not a huge museum so expect to spend approx. 45 mins to 1 hr.

Nice place to introduce you to Mardins History with all details. It is entrance with 6 liras. It has two separated blocks so if you reach the smaller and calm one don’t think as I did your tour has finished. Go on complete your road to the down and you will find the next bigger part. It has two cafeteria you can enjoy Rehan Sharap which is Mardinian juice. It is open from 9-5:30.

A nice museum with a beautiful view. It is open as of today, aside from the cafe and theater (though many people told me it was closed.) There is a huge construction project infront that makes it better to approach from above (the back of the museum.) Take one of two sets of stairs down to the museum. There is a tiny gate that will get you to the entry. The bonus of approaching from above is the collection of artisan open studios that you can visit. It took me a couple tries, as several people sent me in the wrong direction, but it was worth the effort! There is a tiny sign near the staircase that leads to the museum. Awesome Syrian/Turkish bakery right above the museum. Great views of the evening skies over the Mesopotamian plains below!

The museum is located in a very nice and old house, with a terrace overlooking the plains of northern Syria. There are many artifacts inside the museum, some dating 4000 years or so. There are English translations all over the place and the chambers are divided not on historical periods, but on the types of artifacts (a room with coins, one with weapons, other with religious statues etc). Very nice indeed.

It's pretty cheap place, if you compare with other museums in Turkey, but still it's pretty interesting there. The view is beautiful and also there is possibility of handcrafting)

Awesome Museum! The Museum's architecture is the mirror of Mardin-Old-City-Town!
The Entrance is cheap and they invite you in the first hall to do great art-hand-works like stamping a coin with template from historical coins - see pic's.
There are different halls with different categories. Every is full of information and audio-guide would be good.
For people with disability will may have a problem, becausd there are many steps till the entrance and even to get to the different halls need to go more steps. Maybe there is another way that I don't seen, please inform yourself.

Having been to Mardin on numerous occasions, I have finally managed to see the museum. Its contents certainly do justice to the magnificient building. In a city like Mardin, a city museum should reflect the local architecture and culture in the best possible manner. Mardin Museum does just that. Even if you are not interested in archaeology or history, the building is itself worth visiting. The panorama from the top is absolutely breathtaking. Hosting many art and culture related activities, the museum seems to be the beating heart of this enigmatic city.
