Detail in the painting is amazing. Away from the crowds and our friend Sami was wonderful. He even gave us the key to the hidden church.

Very cool and poignant site.

The man who takes care of it let us in for free (we didn’t realise we needed cash to see it) and gave us a little history course.

Highly recommend for a view into the past and a simpler life.

The church is closed, but if you will look on right side from the church, it’s gonna be small room with person who is let you enter inside. His name is Sami and he knows the history, he can explain you what every picture does it mean. His English is very good :) entrance fee is 5 TL, you can give him tips also. Actually, church inside is very small, but pictures are so real, don’t liable to suspicion that colors are fake)

I loved this little church off the road but be ready for a short hike. It will take you 20 minutes at a leisurely stroll to arrive. However, the frescoes are worth the walk. Also, there is a 5-10TL charge per person to go inside the church.

A little old church with very old fresco and a lovely caretaker man Sami , he is the highlight! His smile and welcoming demeanour shine a light bright! He is very knowledgable of the church frescoes and the little surrounding area.

Sami even invited us onto his little cave office to make us Turkish tea, and even to give us a Turkish style massage for our legs, back and shoulders. True kindness not wanting anything in return, he just enjoys company and he is a great person as ambassador for Turkish kindness.

Some people in this reviews are really so stingy with their ridiculous complaints.
Sami is the caretaker and he charges 20 TL to enter the church, which is nothing! It’s less than a dollar for gods sake people. And you should be happy that Sami maintains the church and ensures the church does not get vandalised by tourists!

The intact frescoes are amazing. It's a place tucked away from the tourists in the honey valley- opposite Goreme open air museum. It's not much to look at from outside but don't drop it from your list because of that. The walk around the valley may surprise you with little apple and grape orchards in the folds of the dusty and bare mountains. The best part of the church is the remains of the vivid colours of the frescoes.

A small but nice cute church in Zemi valley. Just about 2.5 km from Goreme centrum for an easy picturesque walk or one can take taxi right to it.
There is entree fee 15 TL
Hidden church is nearby but is closed.
Enjoy nice drinks at nearby Zemi cafe

Small cave church, with very nice, colourful frescoes. 10-11th century frescoes. The caretaker gave a brief explanation. Price 7 tl.

The church is beautiful but the highlight is the caretaker. Sami the caretaker is extremely kind and knowledgeable about the church and it's history. He even took the time to make us tea - definitely coming back!

Beautiful church that’s full of so much history for such a small size. The caretaker is very friendly and funny. He gave us a lot of information about the church and was great to talk to.

It's interesting to see these ancient churches. We did the red tour with Flistones tours and it was a very unique experience. Really worth the while.
