Mavi is a family-run restaurant, its located in the middle of Urgup. The sign is small but you can spot it from afar from its colorful theme. The food is cooked by the women in the family, and Ali, the male and only english speaker, takes care of everything you need. They're all very friendly.
The menu represents what they have cooked. We were lucky to taste their dolma (stuffed vine leaves), rice and meat, eggplants, and ordered a salad on the side. Everything we ate was superb, tasted healthy and clean.
And they got the bill with a complimentary cup of turkish tea.

Our second time here! Beautiful clean place. Real home food. Everything is flavorful and delicious... The owner and his wife are very sweet and pleasant.

Awesome cafe in Urgup, worth the drive from Göreme. The home cooked food was unique and delicious. We really enjoyed the friendly staff, beautiful setting, and the impeccable music selection.

Great meal and wonderful owners! By far the best meal we had in turkey. Was a small location and the owners are attentive and great to talk with! Would definitely go back again.
If you’re lucky, may get some really yummy spicy pickles!

The meals are very delicious and Ali (the owner of the restaurant) is super friendly. The food is homemade and the restaurant is very clean. Me and my wife ate two times there and enjoyed the food and the company of Ali.

We loved this place and kept coming back every day during our stay in Urgup. The little restaurant is ran by a guy and his mom. There is no menu - she prepares food everyday and you can choose from that. As I'm vegeterian and my partner isn't, it's not always easy to find a good spot but this place worked for both of us. We had very tasty bulgar wheat with delicious okra, stuffed vegetables, beef, lasagna-like dish with eggplant and cheese (so so good!). Their soups are by far the best we have had in Turkey. Very flavoursome. Even their plain rice if very well prepared and flavoursome (I think they may add some butter to it).
And it always starts with free pickles and ends with chai.
On our first visit we also received a generous piece of amaaaaazing poppy seed cake.
Overall worth the visit - home made food and very affordable prices.

Good quality food that bring you right into your Turkish Mama's house + owner treat you like he is your uncle. Worth it.

E' un ristorantino dall'aspetto allegro con cucina pronta: su di un bancone il gestore mostra quello che ha cucinato per la giornata (pasta, riso, spezzatini, verdure saltate e zuppe), si sceglie cosa voler mangiare e nel giro di poco (il tempo di impiattare e scaldare) e si mangia. Tutto delizioso, con il miglior pane mangiato in Turchia, offerto dalla casa ovviamente, come anche un piattino di sottaceti e il te a fine pasto. Piatti tipici anatoli, fagioli, peperoni ripieni di riso, zuppa di yogurt e aglio. Sono stata molto contenta nel trovare anche della semplice pasta al pomodoro per la bimba. Inoltre il gestore, dalla gentilezza estrema, ci ha dato dei giochini del figlio per intrattenere la bimba ed a fine pasto ci ha offerto una lozione per rinfrescarci. Il prezzo è da ristorante turco per turchi, mai speso tanto poco, lo consiglio a tutti!

Güzel bir mekan, yemekleri ve tatlıları için sık sık gelirim. Hem arkadaşlarınızla hem aileniz ile hoş vakit geçirebileceğiniz sade ama ferah bir kafe.

Ristorantino a conduzione familiare i proprietari sono molto gentili e sorridenti i piatti tipici della regione sono genuini e prepatati con cura.
Ottimi i ravioli fatti in casa così come ls carne di manzo tipo spezzatino, i fagioli con pomodoro, i fagiolini , gli involtini di riso avvolti nelle foglie di vite e tanti altri piatti preparati in giornata.

Comida totalmente casera, muy rica y sabrosa elaborada con productos frescos. Estuve con mi familia y a todos nos encantó, tanto es así que volvimos varios días durante nuestra estancia en Capadoccia. Cada dia tenen varios platos para elegir. Con la cocina a la vista, alguno de los dias que fuimos estaba cocinando la cocinera. Además los camareros son muy agradables.
