The turkish desserts here are really good! Special mention goes to the chocolate baklava and cold baklava. Order the tea to cleanse your palette between each bite.

Slight service issue - the cashiers would chuck the receipt in front of you and will pay no attention to you when doing their job.

Taste of Istanbul’s Finest: Karaköy Güllüoğlu - Nadir Güllü

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Karaköy Güllüoğlu - Nadir Güllü in Istanbul, and it was nothing short of a culinary revelation. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Pistachio Baklava with cream—a heavenly creation that easily ranks as the best baklava I’ve ever savored. The layers of flaky pastry, the rich cream, and the generous sprinkling of vibrant pistachios came together in a symphony of flavors that danced on the palate.

I couldn’t resist bringing a piece of this experience back to Dubai with me, so I got two parcels—one filled with a mix of Pistachio Baklava and the other with an assortment of Turkish delights. While each bite was a delight in its own right, the mixed Pistachio Baklava stood out as the star of the show. It’s a taste that lingers in memory, calling you back to the bustling streets of Istanbul.

For anyone who finds themselves in this enchanting city, a stop at Karaköy Güllüoğlu - Nadir Güllü is a must. It’s not just a treat; it’s a journey through the rich tapestry of Turkish gastronomy.

Incredibly tasty cold baklava. Really. I loved everything about it, the interior, the customer service, the great patio and the constant flow of people. It is always crowded. There are two cash registers for buying sweets to take away and a separate cash register with trays to stop and drink delicious authentic Turkish tea with baklava and various types of Turkish delight on the summer terrace. I recommend

This place was recommended to us as one of the best baklava’s in town and let me tell you this place did not disappoint. We ate some while we were there and the selection was great. The service phenomenal. Prices were on the high side, but you’re getting quality. We got one small box with eight pieces for us to eat while we were still in Istanbul, two big boxes of baklava mixed, and two boxes of the Variety Turkish delights to bring back with us to the US. We paid about $190 US dollars. We just had to mention that we are taking them for travel and they packed them well. US customs and immigration did not give us a hard time about the baklava or the Turkish delight. As long as you declare it when they ask, you are fine. Definitely worth the price. Our children were very delighted. Could not wait to dig in when we brought them.

It’s delicious and completely worth the hype. They have enough seating (both indoors and outdoors) to accommodate the crowd and a good enough system for those wanting to dine and those wanting take away. I chose to sit and have some Turkish coffee and icecream baklava and then chose what I wanted for takeaway which they packaged and wrapped well for my flight. There’s free water refills available and the staff is helpful. It was tastier than I expected and I left extremely satisfied.

Karaköy Güllüoğlu, offers the best baklava experience in Istanbul in my opinion.

The dedication to quality is evident in every bite, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that make their all their sweets stand out. The pistachios are plentiful and rich, the phyllo dough is incredibly flaky.

It's also the perfect gift to take home, with a special section for diabetics too.

Highly recommended for a true taste of Turkish dessert!

Would I come here again? Would be an incomplete trip if I didn't!

So during my trip to Istanbul I decided to try cold baklava from 3 different places. I have to say this place topped it all. They do the BEST cold baklava and it is soooo addictive. I can never eat a normal baklava again...

P.s. i don’t know how some reviewers on this place share negative thoughts about the customer service, people are very kind and polite and only wants to serve you

This is a top pastry shop to enjoy all the different types of baklava in the city! They offer a huge variety of different combinations and all of them are spectacular! You can enjoy it with ice cream or buffalo cream, both of them fit perfectly and are really excellent.
This is a must!

Probably the best baklava I've ever had. Very buttery and high quality and reasonable priced for what you are getting. I recommend the pistachio baklava and the midiye with a scoop of ice cream. The tea is also well priced and very good. Stunning building with a good atmosphere.

I was looking for the best baklava in Istanbul and was told to come here. Just across the bridge from the old town, this place in an alley has a huge variety of freshly made baklava and other sweet treats. Lip smackingly delicious. I packed a bunch to take back home.

I totally recommend it
The turkish sweets are delicious
Prices are affordable
You should visit it
You start your journey with picking up the pieces you want to try and then you go to the cash station to pay, you can also order tea or coffee or something else if you want to, then you rake your tray to the amazing garden where you can enjoy every bite and admiring the beautiful architecture surrounding you, water is free.
I totally recommend going there.

Istanbul #13, Dessert #1: for me, this was my favorite dessert and dessert experience in Istanbul.

While I visited a few Hafiz Mustafas, I really enjoyed the ambiance at Karaköy Güllüoğlu. The backyard/garden was an especially nice place the afternoon, eating desserts after lunch.

We ordered three different "normal" sized/smaller baklava ~₺50/ea and a larger baklava. Our favorite was the larger baklava that had ice cream with it followed by one of the smaller one with ricey "stuff". My words aren't very helpful/descriptive, but hopefully my photos will help!

I can't imagine anything they sell being short of delicious, so just follow your eyes/heart.

You will not be disappointed, the best baklava I’ve tried in my life with the perfect sweetness. And you can dine here too, it’s a cool area to hangout at and the vibes are chill. The service was ok, they will help with the different flavours to pick from. Only regret is I didn’t get more when I was here!

Would be my one of first choose for baklava, the quality it top notch and I believe one if the best places in Istanbul, I couldn't get "salep" a spesific drink from Turkey, because it wasn't winter. But also that on eqs super nice last year. I tried one lokum with nuts filling, it was awesome, was feeling the taste of it fully, all the baklava, and soğuk baklava, stuff on the picture was good, definately suggest to put cream between the upper and bottom part of the "havuç dilimi". They have a nice garden in my opinion. But can be crowded at certain times.

They are the best for a reason. I wanted to test it out for myself and went to a few top baklava places in a day in the search for the best tasting one (my personal favourite). Hands down this mussel baklava was THE epitome of all baklavas that I’ve had.

Texture on point and not as sweet as the other types. Generously filled with roughly chopped and grounded pistachios. You get the chewiness from the sugar, the crispiness from the thin shell and the soft and firm bite of the fresh Turkish pistachios.

Just epic. Thank you for making my first trip to Istanbul a very memorable one!

Today we tried turkish dessert here, we ordered fistikli havuc dilim saray baklava (palace baklava with pistachio) the triangle one with cream and pistachio inside, cikolatali baklava, midye baklava, soguk baklava and ispanakli su boregi.

The best one is soguk baklava come with chocolate baklava with pistachio and milk.
Then the fistikli baklava, the cream balancing the sweetness. Then the midye, chocolate and the last is the spinach.
All we spend 814 lira.

If you come to istanbul you should come to karakoy and tried baklava in here.
