Very interesting museum about the history of Sephardic Jews in Istanbul coupled with a beautiful Synagogue. Friendly, helpful staff from security to the shop. MAKE SURE TO TAKE YOUR PASSPORT because you can't enter without it.

While I am not Jewish, my partner is and the history of Jewish struggle is beautiful and tragic everywhere you go. While Turkey has a history of accepting refugees and people of other faiths, you find they also have a history of violence against the Jewish people. The museum is lovely, it also is very informative about Jewish practices. Its always wonderful to see people overcoming and surviving. Many lovely pieces on loan from a variety of people. And of course, the synagogue was gorgeous and is still standing despite many attempts to bring it to its knees. Just as worthy as seeing as the many mosques and churches nearby. Shalom

A MUST VISIT IN ISTANBUL!!!
Such an amazing place, where you can find sinagog along with a very authentic piece of art. You can find a lot of history about a very important part of middle east and Europe history. I spent hours and hours reading and discovering, but for a full experience of this place you should come early, you need not less than 5 hours for a full experience.
Regarding the prices actually it is pretty much affordable, they give also a huge discount for student.
but let me say it again and again, it is a must visit in Istanbul.

Beautiful museum that I believe more people should visit. It has a lot of history about Jews in the Ottoman Empire. It often looks closed but press the button and someone will answer

We went there as a school, it was nice. There is even a small exhibition inside.

The biggest synagogue in Istanbul and one of the biggest in Turkey (similar in size to the Great synagogue of Edirne and the Bet Israel synagogue in Izmir) it is possible to visit the synagogue if you go to the museum of Turkish Jews next door.

Istanbul's best synagogue. Lights are perfect, air condition system stands very well even when the synagogue is full. Rabbi Hazan (Cantor) has a beautiful voice real tenor_low bariton. Security very efficient, professional and helpful. Smiling and guiding very professionally and very well dressed. It's obvious the management of the community has a very big experience in all matters. Mazeltov.
