Chiayi Park

This is a very big and beautiful park with lots of resting places. Benches are everywhere, sit to have a snack, read a book, rest or chat with friends. I visited once in the afternoon on a Friday, was so charmed by it, visited again the next morning, which was a weekend. The park was vibrant with people taking their morning walks, others doing their exercise or dance in their little groups. It is interesting to immerse myself among the locals, watching how they spend their mornings at the park. Wanted to share those photos but just couldn’t call up those photos on iPhone, only photos from the Friday afternoon is shared here.

There is a playground too for the kids and restrooms are also easily accessible, though not in the cleanest state.

The morning air is cool and fresh, not noisy despite there were many people going about with their activities. The paths are easy to walk and is wheelchair friendly too for most part of the park.

I simply love this park, as it gives my weak aching knees a break from climbing more stairs. Beside it is the Chiayi Botanical Gardens, so do hop over too without having to make a separate trip on another day.

Great park with multiple playgrounds. Signage could be better as the park is very large (ironically had to rely on google maps for the playground locations). Lots of gardens and things to look at. Don’t forget to hire a car plastic sliding mat from the coffee shop for the artificial grass slide!

It's a very nice park to visit when you have spare time in Chaiyi.

I used to go here as an infant and child with my parents and relatives and the park has expanded and become more developed all whole keeping its natural feel and it feels like the city is instead building around it rather than into it. The nature is amazing as well as all the sights and it's a really good place to take a walk; nothing too challenging.

A very beautiful park where you can find a peaceful atmosphere and relax. There are some monuments that add a traditional feeling and which are, of course, worth seeing. As the park is big, you should plan enough time to be able to see it completely without rushing. A must see in Chiayi!
And also, right next to the park is the Chiayi Botanical Garden, which is a must see too.

A beautiful park next to the baseball stadium, also leads into a small botanical garden..It was a beautiful morning to take a walk at 5 a.m with light rain drops. The ancient look of historical buildings not many however absolutely beautiful. People working out in groups throughout the park.. Even more beautiful at night.

Beautiful old park in Chiayi city with lots of wonderful old trees, established in 1910. It was originally named "Chiayi Park". After the government moved to Taiwan, it was renamed "Zhongshan Park". In 1997, the original name was restored.

Chiayi Park is located in the eastern suburbs of Chiayi City. The total area of ​​the park is about 268,000 square meters. There are towering ancient trees in the park, pavilions, waterside pavilions, rockery fish ponds, winding paths leading to secluded areas. Because of the use of natural mountains and rivers, the scenery is elegant and it can be described as a relaxing resort.

The park contains the Martyrs' Shrine, Sun-shooting Tower, Fukang'an Memorial Monument, Bingwu Earthquake Monument, Twelve Ancient Cannons, Chen Chengbo's Easel, Wall Road, Yijiangshan Monument, Confucius Temple and the national treasure Alishan Forest Railway No. 21 Historical sites such as steam locomotives are a good place for people to relax. In addition, the two forestry and agricultural experimental branches located in the northeast corner of the park are planted with a variety of tropical plants. They provide shade to protect you from the heat and the green leaves sway in the wind. Well worth a visit!

We had great experience going up to 10th floor to see Chiayi skyline. I conquered my fear of heights when I walked on the glass flooring.

Such a huge, serene park with beautiful flowers. There are some interesting and educational historical sites inside the park as well; historical relic museum, Confucius temple, and the sun shooting tower. The Kano building is nearby too, as well as the bus stop.

A perfect place to relax for families and travelers, with many spots to take pictures and do some group activities (like sport, jogging, etc.)

Beautiful place to visit. So many things to see. Open all the time. Free of cost. Love it!!

nice place to stay and better than what i imagined. y’all can experience wearing Japanese traditional clothing as well,i didn’t try tho. anyways it’s an interesting place

This park is probably the best attraction in Chiayi. It has a botanical garden with lots of tall trees, a Confucius temple, old buildings from Japanese colonial era, a spectacular tower and lots of locals strolling, exercising and playing taichi.

On a beautiful day exploring the park is a great way to see Chiayi, you can spend roughly 2-4hours within the park.

This is a must go place with history and very well maintained park. The tree park next to it has more deep wood trails. Also at the entry between the two has morning Farmers market that sell farmer planted veggies and other goods. Don't miss it! The park is also just minutes to Eastside morning market that has more than meets the eyes.

Really amazing views from the top and the glass walkway was really acrophobia inducing. Lovely coffee in the restaurant.

There is really amazing place , especially the Tower with 10 floor, you can go to the top of the Tower of the observation, to see around the Chiayi City! Please don’t forget to stand or sit the glass floor! Coo! Really Exciting 😄😄👍👍

Interesting place to visit. Many things to do in this big park. There is a museum, a nice high tower with review: 10th floor is gallery, 11th floor coffee shop, and 12 floor for looking out without window (with iron bars). Cost 60 NT to go on the tower.

Probably one of the nicest city parks I’ve ever been to. Had a wonderful afternoon strolling through this park.
