the location is very good even if you do not drive. If you do not hike, just watch the sunrise from the lodge. If you want some exercise, you can hike the east peak for a superb sunrise (weather permitting) or hike shimenshan and jianshan which is just 10 minutes walk.

the amenities are a bit old but really, cingjing mingsu is not any better. the buffet breakfast and buffet dinner exceeded all my expectations and beat the buffet breakfast at most of my Taiwan stay. Most of Taiwan hotel breakfast is just deconstructed Taiwan porridge. We went for a sunrise hike up east peak (the main purpose of staying here) then made ourselves comfortable before enjoying the buffet breakfast. Apologies for the lack of pictures, but there was much more meat than the pictures shown by other reviewers. In the past there was 5 veggies 1 meat. now its 3 meats 3 veggies. I love my meat. 2 nights we stayed, 4 meals-24 dishes, hardly repeated the dishes. 5 stars to the chefs for their creativity. Unlike other mingsu that do not top-up the buffet, the chefs top up the food almost every hour. 👍👍👍👍👍 for the chefs.

The rooms are considered large for a mountain hotel. there was a nice chair where i just shut down for 15 minutes after the draining sunrise hike. There was more than enough space for our two huge 26" luggage for us to comfortably sort out the 3-4 layers to put on to brave the -10 (wind) to 0 degrees hike up east peak (there was a "han liu" that drive the temp from 5 degrees down to minus). If you booked the room with view, it is truly beautiful (weather permitting) The Taiwanese seem to love doing time lapse video. There were so many of them setting up tripod and just standing in the cold. I had the luxury of setting up my mini pod at my balcony. 😁

The staff were really nice, typical Taiwan hospitality. the SOP was a bit inflexible though. Check-in is until 5pm and they are serious about. We checked in around 4.30pm as we were busy posing with the sea of clouds. The reception was busy calling other guests to check what time they will check-in. We stayed 2 nights, and payment can only be made each morning. To keep it simple the reception advised us to pay after breakfast. If we booked a sunrise tour just pay upon return. Not a deal breaker just inflexible. There is a bunch of other things but they will advise you when you check-in.

They have a room that generates oxygen. I used it twice, once the moment i checked in just to understand how this can help reduce my symptoms of fatigue and brain fog, and once again after my sunrise hike up the east peak. Both sessions really helped. My appetite for breakfast was much better.

The reservation system is super competitive, you have seconds to make booking, not minutes. Otherwise just sleep in ski lodge. i consider the ski lodge to be a hostel, and songsyue lodge to be hotel.

International guests must make an international call (no line, no skype, no whatsapp just IDD land line) to inform them within a day of successful booking, or else your booking will get cancelled in 3 days.

i look forward to another stay if i do visit hehuanshan again.❤

Incredible location, food is simple good much of surprise after read some bad notes. (Could be wrong customers). The hotel is a match in attitude at 3150 meters, to the best Swiss hotel “3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat Zermatt” in location, view, service that visited

Nice lodge in the mountain. Especially recommend the restaurant on the first floor. There are fancy hotpots and buffet for 300NTD for calorie refuel. It saved my life after riding my scooter through the rain. The buffet is with good taste and ingredients also, will definitely visit and dine there again.

This place is truly amazing. We have never been to a place where we can simple see the sun-rise everyday straight from our room. The food is very good and we have enjoyed our stay in there. They are very much kids friendly too. I do recommend this place to anyone who would like an authentic experience high up in the mountains.

Song Syue Lodge (松雪樓) is the highest altitude hotel in Taiwan at 3,150 meters above sea level. During winter, it is the place where you can possibly encounter snow fall in Taiwan. It is also where you can stay while hiking to several high altitude mountains (all above 3,000 meters elevation) within the area. A place where staying.

One of the best hotel in the high mountains. We're satisfied with the time spent here. We'll definitely come back again if we can book the rooms again.

It's super lucky to have such a high-quality lodge here at 3000+ meters altitude. The staff is friendly and the facilities are great.

It's not the best but it's not the worst. This accommodation is good for those who opt for a late afternoon hike or early morning hike.

No bath towel or hand towel provided. However, one can be purchased from Reception.
