CHATEAU de CHINE Hualien

Visited in November 2023: This hotel is super kid friendly. 10 of us came here for a family vacation, and the kids had a great time on the 3rd floor, "My Forest," which is spacy and full of toys to entertain the kids. Adults enjoyed other amenities in this hotel as well, such as the "Happy hour" which runs from 9:30 pm to 11 pm during our visit. Will recommend this hotel to families with young kids.

Breakfast buffet is awesome, full of selections.

One of the best hotels in the area. Decent price. You won't find a better hotel at the price. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Taiwan.

I am a student from Australia, and I recently stayed at Chateau de Chine for summer vacation. The room I stayed at (on the Jimmy floor) was unlike the other hotel rooms I have checked into before- the vibe felt comfortable, welcoming and lovely, especially with the beautiful art on the walls and the homely décor. Plus, the view from the window was breathtaking, I could see the mountains and sea from up there. The pool was great too- crystal clean waters AND provided inflatable rings to relax in, exactly what I needed for a hot day. The breakfast/brunch buffet tasted amazing- my favourite part was the Japanese-style cold noodles, so refreshing and authentic. Overall my experience in Chateau de Chine made my visit to Taiwan a 10 out of 10. I absolutely recommend.

Room is small but cozy. The Jimmy theme cartoon is amazing. Kids love it. Perfect for family trip. Free parking and east access to all sightseeing places. Highly recommended.

The service here was excellent, from the welcome, check-in, play time, meal and checkout.

We arrived early and we went up to the play area on the third floor, where the children played with building bricks until check-in time. There were separate rooms with a ball pit, a climbing net, slides, kitchen play, books, toys, building blocks, and individual rooms for finger painting. (Fee for paints) there were also board games and other toys.

The pool was nice and the kids swam for a bit.

Breakfast had a vast variety of options including Chinese and western choices. There were many vegetarian options as well as meat choices.

Dinner provides offers ice cream and beer apparently, but we got dinner outside.

The staff was helpful with calling taxis, providing silverware, being welcoming in the play area, and lending umbrellas in the rain.

The room was okay with a pretty comfortable bed for Taiwan, according to western standards. The TV had a lot of channels including English, Chinese, Japanese. The bathroom had many toiletries if you forgot yours. The bath had a hand held shower nozzle.

The room provides a small refrigerator and a safe.

Booked the reservation from the official website of this hostel a couple month ago. And be told that reservation comes with Happy Hour, and it took me by surprise. Seems like booked from the official website is a great choice for the customers. I do really enjoy staying here, the staffs in the front desk are kind and really care for the rights of the guests.

This is a very and nice clean space. They have a huge kids area at third floor for kids to play. I truly recommend this hotel.

I only stayed for one night, and it was years ago, but I remember having a good experience here. Good breakfast, staff were friendly, the room was clean and tidy. I remember there was also a small souvenir shop inside, but I don't know whether it still exists or not. Best of luch for Chateau de Chine!

This is one of the best places to go with kids in Taiwan. Not only a great Basecamp for exploring taroko and the rest of the Hualien area, but also to rest and give some slack to the kids.
The kids playroom is simply amazing. For us with a 3 yo and. 1yo it was simply the place. I can't recommend it enough.
