Mweka gate

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a life changing experience that I would highly recommend. We recent did it with a group of 13 and countless support staff in porters, cooks, guides and others. We used a local operator, Tanzania Elsewhere, and they were incredible. Our group did the Lemosho route trail which we really enjoyed and gave us all plenty of time to adjust to the altitude on our way up.

Everyone after reaching at this gate must be very very veery it happy 😊 😊 because to climb kilimanjaro is not easy like to break an egg.. 🎊

After a long hike down Kilimanjaro i was happy to see the gate. End of a great adventure.

This is the gate that leads to the Mweka Camp and one of the entrances to Kilimanjaro park. The gate has all the basic amenities and you can even buy drinks there. There is spacious seating while you wait either to register or to receive your certificates after hiking up to Uhuru peak.

Great to come down the mountain and have your van and cold beer waiting for you! Register in the building can take awhile depending on how many people come down at the same time but it's worth it when you get your certification.

You will feel excited for the accomplishment as you are trekking out, but sad as the trail gets wider and wider becoming the road to leave the park. The final gate congratulates you and the trek is officially over. The Mt. Kilimanjaro Premium Lager while you wait for the certificate from the park is a must!

Take your photo taken, grab your certificate, savour the land at the bottom & head out! Wouldn’t recommend getting souvenirs from here as it’s super overpriced! Wait for the lunch place your tour guide will take you to, the prices at the souvenir shop there is much more reasonable

That’s it, the walking stops here and you have finished your adventure climbing Kilimanjaro. Don’t forget to see that ‘last’ view of the mountain on your way down from millennium camp, it’s worth it and enjoy your last few hours on the mountain. You can have a shower and a cold beer now.

Had the privilege of climbing Kilimanjaro recently. Well maintained park. The climbing was very strenuous, but definitely worth the challenge.

Mweka Route is the best route for getting great experience since I went with Widerange African Safaris Co Ltd the tour company in Tanzania based on Tanzania safari and Kilimanjaro hiking

Great gate have never been more happy about getting down that damn mountain. The gate is at beautiful sight to anyone at that point. Remember to check your wight personally I gained 10 kg. from the trip because the cook was just too good. So not the development i expected.

Finally, I achieved to go to the top of kilimanjaro. And the last gate was Mweka gate!

That down hill at the end of the trek was a beast with blisters on my feet! Glad to have reached the gate!
