Kichanga Lodge

Kichanga lodge is a very quaint and nice place to stay. The lodge has great staff who are really nice and are true good people. All the staff always have smiles on their faces. The smoothies and drinks at the beach bar were very tasteful and the beach was beautiful. I also really regarded the football hours in the late afternoon where all the hotel staff play football (soccer) with guests. Kichanga lodge has great rooms with a nice shower and bathroom however the beds are a bit hard. The rooms have a nice rustic and tropical feel to them making you feel like you are sleeping in a traditional house. The WiFi was not the fastest it could be even though I had no trouble loading videos, uploading and downloading images to Google photos and go pro quik took so long it was unbearable. Also, the lodge has average food choices. The dinner was a little less than expected but the breakfast buffet was really great. The hotel manager/owner ( I'm not sure ) (African man with a big smile and great language skills) was really accommodating. He always ensures everyone was having a relaxing stay. The staff at the reception was really smart and skilled at managing frustrating tourists like us after we had trouble with our rooms and finding them. I would overall recommend staying here.

This place is really beautiful. We spent 4 nights in December 2016 and we really want to go back. Peace, good food, nice staff, good service, quiet... you just listen te sea which is amazing.
When you open the door of your bungalow you see the beach and that turquesa sea which is beautiful.
I really recommend that place if you want to rest, read a book, do snorkeling or just relax on the beach

A great resort for a holiday vacation. The quiet beach is truly a gorgeous sight and all the amenities (WiFi, pool, gym, beach bar, breakfast/lunch/dinner) are really quite excellent compared to other hotels during my stay in Tanzania.

A perfect place to relax and refuel energy. Very friendly staff, so tasty food and the accommodation is so spacious. What is unforgettable, a peaceful beach with warm water ; everything come together to make you feel in a paradise. Don't miss it!

Nice place, hotel with a lot of charme, good beach, friendly staff. It makes me feel comfortable. You can have buffet dinner with confidence, it's good stuff for 20usd/pers. Unfortunetly, in our stay time there was a little power electricity failure, but i guess "this is Africa".

This is a place in paradise, believe me. We enjoyed our stay on Zanzibar for 2 weeks in November 2017 as refugees from cold and wet germany. ;-) The staff is great, nice to play with you guys soccer on the beach and have small talk with George daily. Many thanks for the romantic dinner which you guys prepared for us.
Use the opportunity and make some tours to Stone Town, Mnemba island or Jozani forest.
A few words to the food: I do not like fish and sea fruits but I've loved the fish there and also tried the crayfish. Very tasty!
Hope to return at some day in life to Zanzibar.

Awesome village! African style bungalows, very clean and comfortable. Courtesy and friendliness at top levels.

Excellent place for sunrise and sunset too! Best for honey mooners and couples.. with peaceful and quite space to relax.. excellent customer service.
