Coconut Restaurant

I was told to order in advance to make sure my fish/seafood would be available, but when I arrived the waiter said he had forgotten about my order. Despite that, he did have what I wanted to eat which made it even more confusing. Had lobster, was prepared in a very simple way, but tasty anyways and took little time. Fries were not well cooked, but he fried them a second time as requested and all good. Very simple restaurant but so welcoming and really laid back atmosphere. It was only when I had finished eating I realized I hadn't received anything to drink. Funny experience and would go back anyways.

We went twice, the food is excellent, generous and fresh! Sabrina does a very well job as a cooker. Be aware that her english is not on the top, but she really tries, so pole pole when you talk to Her 😉 Her family is a treasure. Asante Sana all!

Amazing local restaurant. Not your fancy restaurant, but you will enjoy authentic home-made food. These people will treat you like you are guest ar their home. The food is fresh and the kindness of Zanzibar is one you will feel there. Please also leave a review to support the local business; this helps them tremendously!

Coconut Restaurant serves Swahili food, which my spouse and I fell in love with... Portions were much more than we could finish and prices are very very reasonable and food you eat here would be as delicious as the expensive restaurants (if not more). If you order your food a couple hours in advance, they go and get the fresh seafood you want and cook for you. We gave them an exact time amd our food was ready and warm when we arrived. The chef and other staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend that you try this places seafood instead of having a pizza or pasta at neighboring restaurants, you wouldn't regret. Don't forget to lower your expectations as you walk in, it is not a fine-dining restaurant.

Best meal in Zanzibar. This unassuming little beachfront restaurant has the most incredible food cooked by a lovely woman. It was a perfect last meal before we head back to the mainland. We all had crab or lobster, served with rice. It was my first time trying the crab here and it was incredible, and served in the perfect setting!

Fresh and tasty lobster and prawns with a very generous portion of chips and rice. Really good value for money with ice cold beers. I highly recommend coconut .

Amazing family restaurant. Food is freshly cooked and prepared. The owner is the chef of the restaurant and his cooking is amazing.
If you want a relaxed atmosphere, nice food and far away from the touristic places, go there and you will not regret it

A small, friendly restaurant with a wide choice of seafood and good prices compared to hotels nearby. Solid and tasty portions. Prepared also vegetarian dishes for us.

Forget about all the restaurants on this island. Coconut restaurant has the best fresh food. It felt like eating at a local friends house. Super priced and super nice people. I truly felt home 😁 Please leave them a review if you have been there to support their cooking! Much love from Holland

Best way to order is if you come on one day to order whatever you like for the next day.
They either fish it locally or get it the next morning from the market.

Bardzo kameralna i lokalna knajpka, tuż przy 'salonie' masażu.
Warto przyjść dużo wcześniej i zamówić np ryby czy owoce morza na daną godzinę a pracownicy popłyną zlowić świeże. Proszę się nie zrażać, że nie jest to 5* restauracja z białymi obrusami. Jedzenie jest świeże i pyszne, do tego obsluga bardzo miła a ceny przystępne.
