Pidhirtsi Castle

It was odd to find this beautiful castle in Ukraine’s country side. It is a nice place to explore. Apparently it is popular among ghost hunters.

What’s impressive is it’s fortification structures that are best seen on the model inside the castle.

This place is really interesting to see.

We were 2 backpackers with my cousin, coming from Lviv to Loutsk.

It appears that finally a car drop us in Pidhirtsi and then we decided to go to this castle.

Warning: it's 2-3km from the road, and it's much higher. At the moment it was 33+ degree + our heavy bags 😄😅

The way by foot to arrive till the castle was a real adventure.

About the castle itself, the inside got burn. So the main reason to go there is to admire the view and take wonderful pictures :)

Very cool and eye appealing place. Nothing interesting to see inside a castle. Guys charge you for visiting the castle inside, but actually you pay for viewing the pictures of some gallery there.
Those place is nice spot for beautiful photos, especially if there's not much people around.
Restoration of this object is so poor, so many years and no change at all..

Gorgeous, Italian - French castle, you should definitely visit!! Sadly, there's no interior preserved due to 20 century fires, yet you will still totally enjoy it's remarkable view, gorgeous garden and a Catholic chapel 🥰

This place is amazingly picturesque: both castle and surroundings. Must see place of this region!
The road is in much better condition (March 2019).
Entrance ticket: 30 UAH - adults, 9 UAH - kids.

They are finally started restorations. Just hope red bricks will not stay open. The place is more than charming anyway. And Lady in White is still walking around)))

Unbelievably beautiful place. Though I'd rather recommend visiting chapel in Pidhirtsi. Unfortunately, after the castle was used for recreational purposes by Soviets, not much is left of interior. Though you can still enjoy the exterior and the view.

This is a beautiful and amazing place, but unfortunately it’s in dire straits. A magnificent palace and an impressive church nearby are slowly destroying. Seems that some attempts are being made to restore or at least to prevent further destruction, but they are obviously not enough.
The palace (castle) on the hill looks best from afar, when there are no noticeable signs of destruction and desolation. The church situated nearby surprises with a massive facade and rather small sizes. The park and park alcoves are a mere memory.
The place is amazing and emotional, but leaves a sad aftertaste

Nice palace in the middle of an old village - giving it even further feel of antique. The spot is good place to spend few hours, as aside from castle you can enjoy the green territory around, with plenty of wild birds singing in the surrounding park. The palace would be most probably closed for visits inside.

Great views and castle itself is tremendous

It's one of the most beautiful castles in Ukraine and maybe Europe, unfortunately it is not maintained well... But it's really worth to visit here.

Views from the castle are beautiful unfortunately its in bad shape. Needs to be fixed. Apparently there was a fire and most of the castle rooms are closed. Still should be visited for the good views.

Such an amazing home and castle. Be sure to read up on Wikipedia about the history, very interesting. That moat and those fortifications are not just for show! I can't imagine seeing it in it's prime, just the skeletal structure leaves you in awe.

The castle is located on a hill and there are stunning views. Very ancient with interesting architecture. Not difficult to get from the main road.

The castle is really nice. It has an exhibition in the second floor. There are you can find paintings and pictures how it looks at the past.
