Celebrating our anniversary week and this place was a fantastic choice! We love German food and had to get the Grosse Platter after the giant pretzel!
Super relaxing eating our food and the waitress (I'm sorry I didn't get her name, but shimmery purple dress) was just the right amount of attentive. We ate wildly too much and still took home food for tomorrow 😊

Took a sunny Saturday drive from Owensboro Ky. Found this place decided to grab lunch. Yum. We got order pretzel sticks to start. Hot and tasty especially w beer cheese dip. I had the Jager Schnitzel with sauerkraut and German potato salad. My mom had speatzle with sausage dish. No room for desert unfortunately. Another time.

It was like stepping into a grandma's house. Everyone knows they have the best food. I was seated right away. My server was very nice and explained any questions I had. I got the polish sausage and potato cakes. The sausage was nice and juicy. The potato cakes were great, but really just a hashbrown. The prices were good, especially for a resort area.

German owed and authentically decorated. We popped in a 14 party and the waitress did an awesome job handling our large party.

The staff is great at helping you with selections if you aren't sure what to order.

We ordered the grasse plate for 2.
There was so much food and everything was so delicious. (Several other parties ordered the same).
The meatballs are huge, the potato salad so tasty, the sauerkrauts were both accommodating to our meats. The noodles and gravy went well together.

My husband had the dopplebach which he raved about and I had an Octoberfest, that was better than any I have ever had before.

We got the pretzel to go for a late night snsck and it did not disappoint.

It is a little pricey: however, worth every penny.

A must visit and we will be back!!

It is hard to state in words how phenomenal the food and service are here. If you are not familiar with German food, they are very understanding and helpful. If you don't know what you want or will like, there is an option for a sampling of food that comes family style. You will not eat it all. Well, you may, but you'll probably regret that.

The pretzels are the size of a plate and about as thick as a pie.

The place is decorated with an obvious German flare, but all kinds of little curios from gnomes to cows and beyond.

Beer? They got that and it comes in German size mugs.

If you don't like it, it may be a you thing.

Very nice place. From the way it is decorated, you'd think someone opened a restaurant inside an antique shop! Food is excellent. Loved the red cabbage

Was told to come here by locals and it is as authentic as it can get! Super cute place! Owners came from Germany and are the sweetest. Food was fresh and the pretzel is A MUST. The best I’ve ever had along with that homemade cheese sauce. I would drive another 4.5 hours just to get that pretzel again yummmmm.

Second time here. 7 years apart. Great atmosphere and German food. From outside it looks smaller than it is, but it’s still a quaint French Lick icon. I had the zwiebelschnitzel and German fried potatoes. Huge portion and came out very hot. Servers are dressed the part and ours was on point with service and recommendations.

We arrived late on a Sunday, but the friendly hostess was still happy to seat us. The decor has a kind of warm, Grandma kind of charm. Not knowing a lot about German cuisine, we just took a shot and ordered jaegerschnitzel and goulash for the adults and a German hotdogs for the the 2 year old. We had the Sides Platter as well. The food arrived quickly, was well prepared, and plated attractively. Everything was DELICIOUS! The servers were all very friendly and helpful. Restaurants like this are difficult to find these days with so many being short staffed. Our only problem was not being able to try more on menu during this visit.

We went to this restaurant on our honeymoon and have come back every year since. The restaurant is super unique in its atmosphere. Tonight we sat down and our server from last year remembered us. Not only that, she remembered where we were sitting last time. Sadie, has always been a wonderful server :) Saw the for sale sign, and we hope the new owners will keep this restaurant theme and will keep Sadie!

Love this atmosphere! Food is so very unique, yet so traditional--schnitzel, bratwurst, cabbage, kraut. And sooo tasty, with huge helpings. You'll love it, try it out!

Hands down the BEST German food I have ever had in the US. I have a decent amount of German heritage, so I’ve been lucky enough to spend a fairly significant amount of time in Germany visiting family/friends so I have good amount of exposure to authentic German food. The food at this restaurant is simply the best you can get here in the states. The ingredients are quality, it was cooked perfectly, and I swear to god it was better than some of the German food I had in Germany. I went with my wife and her parents, and everyone was blown away by how good it was. I would highly recommend getting the “große platter” so that you are able to try a little bit of everything! Also, the Kartoffelpuffer are a must have!

The food was absolutely amazing. We had 4 in our party. We started with the giant Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese. Both tasted fantastic.

We followed that with the Grosse platter. The amount of food was incredible. We did eat most of the protein portion of it, but we took home a portion of most of the sides.

Our server was subpar at best though from watching the other servers throughout, I am fairly certain we were just unfortunate in regards to who we had. I actually stopped two other servers to obtain things that we needed and they were both extremely pleasant with me despite me taking them briefly from their own tables.

They were so nice and nicely accepted us close to close. They were very thoughtful and helpful with the menu and the environment was a delight. You could tell that love and history went into our meals and the ambiance of the restaurant. I had the schnitzel with fried onions, and it was delicious. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem. Classy and romantic interior, including separate spaces for groups. Authentic great tasting food. I highly recommend it for anything from meals to special events for small groups.

First impression when you walk in the door is this is clearly a German restaurant, feels authentic. Food seemed authentic as well and was excellent. We had the Polish beef sausage and spaetzle with a creamy mushroom sauce. It took a little longer than expected to get helped both at the door and once we were seated. But the food coming out super fast semi made up for that. The first beer my husband received was not what he ordered and it took a minute to convince the server he knew what he was talking about when it comes to German beer. Turns out the keg blew for the one he ordered and it was replaced with another German style beer from Bloomington Brewing which was awful. We both tried it and no thanks. Highly recommend sticking to the beers from Germany.
