Bo-Mac's Drive Inn

Repeat visit. Stopped in on a blustery fall day, wasn't going to let the weather stop me from sitting outside right next to the highway (that's part of the experience here).

Excellent and immediate service, ordered chili and a shake. Chili was tasty with big chunks of beef and tomatoes plus a slice of melted cheddar, perfect for an autumn day. Thick shake, I let it melt and enjoyed it on the way home.

I can see why Bo-Mac's is a favorite stop for bikers and Jeeps. I'll be back.

Fancy restaurants are not for me. Not the way I grew up. But I did know every roadside burger joint in a 3 County area. Sadly, most are now long shuttered, and I often find myself longing for a good old fashioned burger basket. And lo and behold and quite by accident I found it on that most American past time, the Sunday cruise, on the outskirts of Shoals. My first bite I told my friend I was selling out and moving there in jest. Nothing fancy, although car hops scurrying around taking orders and delivering trays was like a blast from a distant past and, really, pretty cool. Just a damn fine burger, really good fries and good slaw. My companion said the potato salad was good as well. The portions were generous, the bill was less than I expected and overall the experience was like stepping into a time machine back to my childhood. It's a 90 minute trip, one way, from my house...and I guarantee you haven't seen the last of me.

Bo-Mac's is always great. Service is friendly. The food is fabulous. The atmosphere is retro and fun. What more could you want! Onion rings and nacho nuggets were super tasty and the ice cream was even better. I've never found any place who does a butterscotch shake better than them! I love this place every time! I would recommend going here, even if it's out of your way!

Bo Mac’s is a historical treasure in Shoals! Drive up and they’ll take your order; just like the good old days. 😀 Try the Apple Crumble Flurry and a burger! Yum!

Best milk shakes around! Love the car hop service and style of old drive up. The wait sometimes takes awhile but we'll worth it. Highly recommend!

Great day sitting outside at BoMacs. Tenderloin was ok. Onion rings fabulous! But all in all the service was great and a beautiful day to enjoy the picnic tables ❤❤❤

I will admit that I only had a shake. But what a shake. I was out camping in the area and a friend of mine said he had some great homemade ice cream nearby. I spotted this place on my way home and said, why not get a shake for the road? For a mere $5 they handed me a chocolate shake the size of a giant Big Gulp. An excellent accompaniment to my drive home.

We pulled off Rte 50 for a bite to eat as we were pretty hungry. We ordered 2 burgers with fries and a drink. It was a nice afternoon so we enjoyed the sites while we waited for our order. And it was worth the wait!!! Those were the BEST burgers ever!!! The burgers were so moist and juicy and perfectly seasoned . I'm salivating remembering how good they were. If you're in the area. Stop by. You won't regret it. I regret not having stopped sooner. We're from Ohio and have driven by here countless times before stopping on Saturday, August 27. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. They have been open for over 50 years and have a varied menu from burgers, chicken, fish, pork, shrimp, salads, and ice cream and other treats.

Onion rings are hand dipped and amazing. Also sampled breaded tenderloin, french fries and coney dog. Food was awesome.

The wife and I stopped while out riding the Harley and both of us agree that it was the best burger we’ve had in a very long time. On top of that it was very cheap (both of us ate and I got a Large Chocolate Malt (32oz) and our bill was less than $18. Great food, friendly service and cool old fashion drive in. If I could add one bit of constructive criticism it would be to get bigger straws for your shakes and malts. I almost sucked myself crosseyed tried to drink through that little straw until we gave up and went and got spoons. Lol. We will be back and I’ll most likely have a couple dozen other Harley’s with me.

Great food nice people, and when the tornado sirens went off they had us go down to the basement for our safety and the other patrons that were there as well.

I used to go here all the time. I have a lot of fond memories of this place.

UPDATE: 3 years later, still awesome. I drive 1.5hrs to come here for dinner.

Classic drive-in with great food, large portions. I had The Rox Cheeseburger, it was huge and great flavor. As a side I had the onion rings, they were different than other onion rings I've had, with more of a bready batter on them, very good! The prices are very reasonable as well. I was extremely pleased with the flavor and size of the food here, I will be returning!

Good cheeseburger. Truckers, there's a small fuel station right next to if you want to get fuel or food too.

It was nice! The food was delicious and the service was great but the ked running around on a four wheeler was a buzz kill.
