Whitewater Canal State Historic Site

So cute! We stumbled upon this little gem of a town while out exploring the area. Definitely go if you like quirky, old timey country stores! There's also a 30 minute train tour you can take for $5 on the old train in the town.

Love going here. I wasn't sure about times for shops to open. We went there on a Saturday morning. Shops were closed until noon. Not really sure if I'm early in the season...

We had a blast. This place can be seen without a ticket although I highly suggest taking the train. It is relaxing. We went on Mother's Day and it was not busy at all.

Always an amazing time! If you have not checked out canal days you absolutely have to! Worth the crowd! Shopping an great food don't forget homemade ice cream! Oh an a tarot reading if your into that sorta thing!

Beautiful town. My family n I enjoyed it very much if you haven't visited this is a must see

Went for the 25th Metamora Music Festival. Unique shops and small restaurants line the main drag along the canal and side streets.
You can ride the historic steam train from/to Connersville.
Public restrooms available at both ends of town.
Also the Whitewater Canal Trail cuts thru with routes to Laurel and Yellow Springs Road in Brookville. Great for biking.

I went to canal days at Metamora and it was so beautiful there! So much fun! Lots of food truck options and lots of different booths and vendors to look at! Alot of options and cool stuff. Me and my friend had a blast, plus it's a beautiful drive!

For a gravel trail it is nice, and with the addition of the laurel feeder trail it is great for mountain biking or cyclocross. With the trail now being a total of 11 miles and length one way going all the way down to the Laurel feeder Dam making it one of the best trails in the area around Brookville Indiana.

Metamora is a special place and I'm so happy to see it thriving and full of people!

The fitness trail was so scenic and fun. The outdoor workout equipment is top notch and is great to use. I highly recommend this trail for all ages.

Great time on the train. We had a group of 22. Great time of he year to go.

Awesome place if you're in the neighborhood. Great knick knacks to buy, bought my kids a little something while I was there. A must see!

A fun evening out with beautiful lights around the canal. Lots of shops with plenty of Christmas goods, fudge shop, coffee shops, and places to eat. It is our 3rd year and always discover something new.

Metamora is a great place to go and have fun and shop at all the venues they have open!!!

A small historic site that is off the beaten path in the town of Metamora. It offers a look into both the canal system of early Indiana and a fully functional mill. It is adjacent to the Metamora Train if you want a quick ride through scenic Southern Indiana.

Cool little train ride but couldnt hear the story enough because of all the other people talking!

I only got to do a drive-thru because I was working and on a timeline for deliveries. The whole area looks amazing though! There are covered picnic areas all along the canal and roadside. I was thru the area mid-day but the locals told me it gets a lot of visitors in the evenings and on the weekends. I will be going back when I can plan time to see the whole site and the awesome township of Metamora.
