Love this place!! Definitely coming back :) we accidentally left a phone on the property and we’re coming from out of town but the owners so kindly helped find the phone and saved our lives!! Definitely recommend this place, both for the experience and the people!! The river is lovely as well - there’s a hidden rope swing we excitedly stumbled upon as well. Definitely a hidden gem in Brookeville

This place is amazing!!! Customer service is outstanding! They made us feel so welcome. The trail was beyond beautiful, the view and water was great. More than reasonable pricing and honestly some of the nicest people ever. Highly recommend this place, variety of options with canoe/kayak.

I like how easy it is to bring your own watercraft. And since you drop your watercraft off, drive to the end, and take the bus back, you don't have to worry about someone else transporting it. It's a good stretch of river with lots of spots to stop for a bit. It is a wide river though, so make sure you have your sunscreen because there's not much shade.

We’ve been coming here for 36 years and we love it!!! We even spent our honeymoon canoeing this beautiful river. Our peaceful getaway! So much fun. Definitely recommend this place!

This company is amazing. I’ve never had a bad time and I go multiple times a year. Just this last time I lost my debit card and drivers license and they went through the hassle to find it for me!!!! Best place I’ve went.

Love this place. Fast and easy to get on river. Turn a four and a half hour float into a six hour float and it’s fast and easy to get out. Some of the teenage workers could need some help communicating more but we weren’t there for that. Went almost every weekend last year and trying to do the same this year. Love the river.

Always an amazing time kayaking/canoeing! Last time we rented a large raft and it was fun but heaving to paddle with only two adults. The kids really didn’t count because they did not paddle well at all lol! Still a fun time! I would recommend bringing your own life jackets but that’s just my preference!

Had a great time. Some of us had our own kayaks and others rented. They were very well organized and everything went really well. We have been going there for years but were wondering if thing would be crazy and different since Covid.... a few extra precautions, but always and still a great time.

Year after year a great staff, friendly, and informative instructions about the river. Very clear about how to get to the facility when I called. Brought my sister on her first trip and they made her feel confident about managing her own kayak. I've been to other facilities but if it's up to me, I always choose Whitewater. Thank you for opening this season!

Booked a last minute canoe trip for a Friday afternoon. Arrived around 10 am and were possibly the first customers there. It was quiet but the two staff persons were friendly, kind, and informing. We put our craft in on site and used the "map my run" app to determine our GPS location (our trip was estimated at 5-7 hours and was 11 miles long).
The water was running pretty fast and there were plenty of small rapids. We helped another canoe retrieve their paddles after tipping. The river and scenery were very enjoyable and there were plenty of banks to stop on.
My only non-positive comment is about the signage at the end. Despite being told at the beginning of the trip which landmarks to look for our group nearly missed the end ramp.
These are rustic accommodations from the bathrooms at the office to the bus that shuttles you back. If you are someone who requires clean and new surroundings this might not be the place for you.

Great place to go canoeing, kayaking, or rafting. They even have tubes to rent if you just want to float down river. Line was kinda long and it did take us about 1hr 30min to get in the river but once we did it was a blast.

The checkin and drop off may look like the next movie set of the next The Hills Have Eyes film but never fear these hicks are not murderous and will set you off on the best kayaking experience in the Midwest!

We took a short canoe trip on Saturday, July 7, 2018. It's about a 90 minute drive from Fishers. The exit from I-74 was closed so we took 74 to the exit IN-44 to Rushville, then US 52 the rest of the way. The signs on US 52 make it easy to find. The entrance to the livery is on the right side (as you're coming from Indy) of US 52.

We arrived at 9:15 AM. It took about 15 minutes to get through the line, sign the waiver, and pay around $45 for the canoe, two paddles, and two vests (adult + child). You walk about 30 yards to get your equipment, and then another 20 yards and you're in the river and on your way. We got to the end, called the number on the canoe and the van picked us up about 10 minutes later.

I've canoed Turkey Run S.P. and Shades S.P. This has been the least crowded of the three. The rapids were easy and the water level was a little low. Water temp about 75*-77* F. My only tip is to be advised that the parking lot is a little tight and the driveway in/out is narrow. I will go back and do this again.

Truly wonderful and friendly people. Early on in our trip my dog decided she wanted to go for a swim, and took the canoe with her; the end result was me losing my car keys. Before I go on, I'll just say that the rest of the trip was fantastic. My group had a great time, and every dollar was well spent. Absolutely no complaints as far as canoeing goes.

Back to my keys. When we got back to the office, we called a locksmith and were told to wait 45 minutes. An hour and some change later, I called back and was informed that they don't actually service the area where we were. Interesting. So I walk up to the counter and asked the lady (whose name I feel so bad for not getting - I'm so sorry, my brain was fried!!) if she knew any locksmiths in the area, She made a call, but they told me they couldn't help for my particular make & model.

She did however assist me in getting it all towed back to my house in Indy. She was incredibly patient with us loitering around for close to 4 hours, and even gave our ride directions when they got lost. Truly went above & beyond for us.

Even if disaster hadn't struck I would have been more than comfortable coming back for business. This was just icing on the cake. You will not regret going here - just make sure your dog stays put.

Great Staff and equipment. We were late getting into the water and everyone was still as sweet as pie to us. The waterway is beautiful and worth every second and dollar you spend.
