Access Johnson Co Public Transit

I work here as a dispatcher, trust me, we never try to be rude on the phone and I apologize if you've been a recipient. Please, when you call to book a ride, let. us know your location and don't just say Johnson County, Greenwood or etc. We have a wide coverage and just so many busses. We welcome ALL passengers. Thank you for choosing Access. We appreciate your business.

It's always been a pleasant experience for me. From the dispatchers to the drivers; I've experienced kindness, professionalism, respect and everyone going out of their way to accommodate me. This service is a godsend.

After working 44yrs at the same company; One-day-came....that found me permanently disabled and wheelchair bound....lost my income, lost my insurance, my home (could not afford a wheelchair ramp to get inside my apartment) and no longer able to drive. I was then placed into a physical rehab facility for nearly two years. And then suddenly my insurance discharged me at 2pm one day. I was so afraid of how i was going to get around, how was I going to eat, etc, and i had no option but to sleep in my car that night and for the next two weeks before sorting it all out (my sons live out of state and i didnt want to tell them). I called 211 and heard about johnson county access and it was a literal godsend. I couldn't wait to call then the next morning and i cried that night when i fell asleep.. because my prayers were answered. The next morning came and I was nearly in tears speaking with the very kind dispatcher (I wish I could remember that dispatchers name). She immediately made me feel safe, heard, and cared about. My ride was going to be the next day, and I was apprehensive with all the new way of living as the bus approached the next day. But I was blessed once again with a very kind and professional driver who made me feel safe.

Sorry so long of a review....I just felt that.....before anyone were to complain about JCA.....can you imagine driving a BUS for 60 miles (30 miles both ways) and it only costing you $4 in gasoline? That's quite a bargain to all of us. And....getting such a nice group of people who actually care about you too! This is a godsend to us all.

I read a review regarding an error a dispatcher may have made and i wanted to add my opinion on that review: If, on the rare chance someone makes an error...remember....we are all human; no one is perfect...and... keep in mind that the person did not intentionally make an error so please forgive them....just as quickly as you would like to be forgiven when you make errors.
Nothing but grateful here for JCA.

I love driving for Access! I get to meet so many nice people. Becky is the best boss and my co-workers rock!

Very rude and abrasive. I’ve never used this mode transportation before. She wouldn’t answer the basic questions. Do they allow pets for vet visits. Where do they pick up from and drop off. Do I need to meet them at a particular place or do they pick up from your place of residence. She asked me where I lived so I told her Johnson county in Greenwood. She said she didn’t know because I didn’t tell her where I lived. Mind you she didn’t ask for an exact address. She said that depending on how far the destination it was $4.00-$6.00 each way.

I wouldn't even give this review one star. This morning at 10 am I stood at the Greenwood park mall stop and the female driver stooped, didn't look at us standing people, didn't open door and left after 20 seconds.
This is unacceptable in 10 degree weather. The call center lady didnt apologize. I've never had a problem in the past.
Please, Johnson County! DO BETTER!

made appointment to be picked up 2 days in advance. they committed and told me to be ready 20 minutes early. they called me back the next day and cancelled. said they changed their minds and couldn't do it. they had given me a ride in the past and didn't like it because I used a wheelchair. good thing they didn't first take me someplace, leave me, then change their minds. and, I feel sorry for their regular customers who let them get away with stuff like that.

While driving driving near one today in Greenwood on 32, bus 56 was stopping at Green Lights, swerving into other lanes, and changing lanes without a turning signal. Maybe a little bit more training would be beneficial for some of the drivers
