My family and I have gone to the Gibson on multiple occasions. I really love the look and feel of this theater inside and out. They show 1st run movies as well as live events. The prices on tickets and concessions is reasonable, and the interior is clean. The screen and sound system are also in great shape. The theater is in the heart of Batesville so you can see a movie and then go to the park or to dinner, lots of fun for a family outing.

Love the theater. The manager does an amazing job of keeping the small town feeling and bringing first rate movies to town. Prices are more than reasonable and you feel safe inside the theater

Updated for 2022 ticket prices

The Gibson is a single screen theater. They mostly feature the current family friendly recently released movie. Ticket prices are low, being $7 an adult and $5 for kids for evening shows. Concession prices are just as reasonable especially compared to chain theaters.

An accessible upstairs restroom was added in 2020 for those unable to use the downstairs facilities.

The projector was upgraded to digital back in 2014. The rest of the theater feels dated, but that is part of the charm. It is clean and exceptionally well maintained for its age. You can really see the love of the owner and staff in the upkeep.

Given the ties to community events like the yearly free Polar Express performance, I haven't been to any other theater in 2 years.

I love this place. Small town charm, personal staff and very easy to find. It's priced very competitively and they usually play the #1 movie at the box office. They offer a very large selection of goodies, the popcorn is fresh and the theater is very clean and well maintained for how old the building is. The balcony is closed when I visited but I'm assuming it was because they were remodeling. The restrooms could be updated but they are clean and I think it goes with the overall charm and character of the building and history. Have been here a few times and I'm always looking forward to coming back!

I've grown up around this little theatre and though it's getting older and the seats sometimes creak. It's adorable and it holds so many memories. I love going there and running into at least 5 of my friends every single time. Also the free refill on large popcorns is awesome.

This is a wonderful little theater. Places like this just don't exist anymore. I'm not sure how old the Gibson Theater is, but I'm in my mid fifties and my mom saw movies here as a young girl. It's a single huge screen with decent seats and the original balcony. The concessions are reasonable, the popcorn is great. Kim, the manager, is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.I haven't lived in Batesville for many years, but my family and I visit family often and we always love seeing movies at the Gibson.

This is a 100-year-old movie theater located in downtown Batesville Indiana. This is an old school style movie theater with one viewing room and a small concession stand up front. The prices are family friendly and you get a great value for what you pay for. Would highly recommend if you're passing through Batesville Indiana to stop in and give the Gibson theater your monies so they can bring you the funnies.

Super friendly staff and prices can't be matched by any of the big theaters
Tickets are only 5$ & 7$ plus free popcorn refill and they give you extra bags so the kids got their own bags

Will definitely be back

The seats are comfortable and the service is good. It only shows one movie for a certain period of time but that is ok with me. But that may effect your enjoyment of the theater just isn't showing the movie you wanted to see.

The Gibson is home to us. My earliest memory is taking our boys to see A Muppet Christmas Carol in the early 90s. We love to walk there and see a matinee'. Like we just did to see Christopher Robin. You need to make those family memories at The Gibson too!

Awesome little theater. You have to go downstairs to go to the restroom. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
