This is where I go to start my dual sport riding in Wharton forest, great area to park ir car and ride your bike in.

The staff at the office were polite and considerate. This was first time back to the pine barrens in decades. I will definitely be coming back.

The park ranger was very nice. They were gentle in reminding me that it is not an off road park, to be respectful of the land and stay to marked trails. They even high lighted the wide and rolled trails and even warned me where I may encounter "sugar sand"

The park rangers were super helpful at The Atsion Office. They confirmed which local hiking trails were the best for the timing that we had available and they also let us know about the Historic Batsto Village which we loved. Thanks!!

This is where you want to park if you are going to explore Wharton Forrest. There is a map that details all the trails. You can hike, bike, fish, and canoe here. Be prepared because there is a lot to offer. You do not have to pay to enter this area. Be sure you wear proper clothing and plan a trip ahead. You can get lost and Verizon cell service can be spotty at time on certain trials.

We love this park. The rangers are friendly and helpful. Great place to walk and if you can get a cabin reservation you will not regret the experience, as long as your are not expecting a luxury hotel setting...
