My children have attended Kids Country at Highland Park exclusively for 6 years now. As a former stay-at-home Mom, a family event forced me to quickly dive back into the working world. I was extremely hesitant to leave my daughter, because of her many special needs, including epilepsy. From day 1 the staff at Kids Country not only made my children feel welcome, but put my mind at ease when leaving my daughter behind. I highly recommend Kids Country!!

This is my son's second year in this program and since the first day my son loved this place and its staff. They make the children feel like family, even the parents also when we go there pick them up. They have shown extraordinary support with school online to those kids that are on this program. I can't imagine my life during this uncertain time with COVID-19 without their support. Highly recommended, they not only accept, respect and love each individual child, that place is also a world of creativity. I want to highlight the great work of Miss Alyssa and Haliey. They are extraordinary.

My child has been attending the before and after school services in Lee's Summit (specifically Greenwood Elementary) and I couldn't be happier. The staff are very accommodating at all times and know you and your child by name. They also are willing and able to work with you if your child had some behavioral needs.

My son attends the WV Kids Country location and the teachers there are amazing! They are attentive to all of the kids, and are always so very friendly. The billing & online system are extremely simple and easy to use.

Our son has loved BASS. He gets the attention he needs and wants from the teachers and the activities are managed very well.

Kids Country is a great program, the staff truly care about all of the children and I know my children are in good hands. It is a little on the expensive side but for working parents that need somewhere safe to send their children before and after school, it's great!

CAUTION! ABUSE!! We witnessed 2 Lee’s Summit School District Kids Country staff members ABUSE a young child today on their field trip at Crown Center. One staff member lifted a small child by the head and then choked the child by the head and neck. The child abuse hotline, Crown Center Security, the KC police, & Lee’s Summit school district are all involved in the investigation, as well as Childcare Licensing with the Health Department. Several students told me that the camp is not fun. They looked miserably sad. After witnessing the first episode of abuse, I asked some of the children if they felt safe. They cautiously shook their heads no & quietly mouthed “no”. I didn’t get to finish the conversation with those children because I looked over and saw the employee angrily choking the child. I ran over & yelled for her to stop. She made ridiculous excuses for choking the child & said she knew what she was doing. 😢 None of the other employees intervened or tried to save the little girl. My friend said the child’s face turned bright red while being choked. My family, friends, and I will be disturbed by what we saw for a very long time. I reported it to the Lee’s Summit school district’s superintendent’s office. I pray they take it seriously and fire the whole staff. If the 3 other employees cared about children, they wouldn’t stand by & let these 2 women abuse children that way. I spoke to the supervisor who was with them. She was clueless and useless. She actually tried to bully me out of reporting it. She defended her staff and she never checked on the child who had been choked. If someone did that to an adult, they’d be arrested. The school district has to do better than this. It’s important to note that the child we saw being so horribly abused appeared to have special needs and coukd not stand up for herself. Why was the staff member who choked the child so angry? Because after the child was mistreated the first time, she tried to hide in a playland box. I would try to hide, too, It I had to go there. Those poor children.

Kids Country discriminates against any child who is not white. When I child gets into trouble at kids country they are isolated to a specific area where they are not allow to speak to other students they are also not allow to leave the isolated area or play with other students. There also not allow to use any of the school facilities. Even though the parents pay school taxes so those facilities should be open to all students. I guess a student has no CIVIL RIGHTS an Discrimination is ok with Kids Country. Thought we lived in the United States where all people no matter there race, origin, sex, or religious views are created equal.
