Montessori Day School of Blue Springs Reviews

I thought I would leave this review as a reflection of my experiences with this school. My little one has only attended for a month or so. I did read the reviews prior to enrollment as part of my research. But I thought I would leave my thoughts on this daycare from my perspective (a parent as well as a business operator myself).

First, the enrollment process….i visited the facility twice prior to enrollment. Both times the facility was secured, impeccably clean and the students in all classrooms were content and engaged. There was significant interaction between staff and students that seemed positive and rewarding for the little ones in their care.

I read the reviews regarding the owners and operators only being interested in money, referenced the cars they choose to drive and lost payments. I first need to say, it is no one’s business what make/model an individual chooses to purchase. I personally did not go into business with the mindset of wanting to be impoverished. My personal career choices were because I wanted to advance myself and secure my family’s future with a few comfortable luxuries on the way. If someone starts a business with the intent on struggling financially long term, that is a poor business model.

In regards to missing payments….I make all tuition payments online through the app the facility utilities. I receive an invoice each week, make my payment through the app, then receive a confirmation email of payment received. It really is a streamlined process. I don’t see how it is possible that the facility could “lose” a payment. Unless the alleged payment was made a different and undocumented way. In which case I say, it is 2023, make your payments online via the automated system they have in place and it would eliminate any alleged issues of lost payments.

I also wanted to address the review that voiced a concern regarding a lack of inclusion. This facility not only has diversity in its students, but also its staff. My little one is a minority as well as has a disability. She has been welcomed with open arms. She tells me everything. And I mean everything. If someone was disrespectful to her in my absence, I would know about it.

I say all that to say this….don’t believe all the negative reviews. Terri and her staff have been nothing but professional and compassionate. Go check out the school yourself and make the right decision for your family. Don’t choose your daycare based on a few disgruntled reviews. Otherwise you might miss out on this gem.

Montessori Day School is an amazing place with amazing teachers and staff who really do care and invest in your child. We had just moved here from out of state and my child had never been in daycare and they made the transition easy on both my daughter and I. They have one of the hardest jobs in the world in my opinion and I would not hesitate to recommend this school to anyone. We love it here!!
P.s. my daughter always talks about how great the food is, everything from scratch. Makes me smile and feel good that if she can't be with my family or I, then this is the next best place on earth!

I feel like I have to stick up for this school. I have had nothing but a great experience with not only the teachers, but the director as well. I find everyone friendly and genuinely caring. I started one child there in the infant room and he has since moved up to the primary class. He loves his friends and his teachers. I recently started my infant here as well and look forward to watching her grow there as her brother did. I work with children from birth through preschool every day at my job and I can honestly say that my 3 year old has a better knowledge base and sense of self than a surprising number of children his age. Thank you Terri, Carla, Kelly, Stacy, and all of the other teachers that make my children have happy days!

When it was time for my twin boys to start daycare, like most first time parents I was excited and hesitant. You need a place that your child/children can thrive and get the same loving attention you give them at home. When we spoke with Terri (Director) we immediately felt her passion for the kids and their development. My twins both have development delays and we needed an environment that would cater to their needs. The teachers are all engaged, informative and love the boys.

They (my boys) have made leaps and bounds in their development since starting in March and I know going to school here they will continue to flourish. The staff also works in coordinating with my son's occupational and physical therapist. We love Montessori Day School of Blue Springs.

This school has been wonderful with my child. I feel she’s in good care and we are glad we picked this school. The teachers are kind and attentive and the director has been accommodating and helpful. I would recommend this place.

We’ve been looking around and we found this school. My two girls just started going there a few weeks ago and we already can see there progress. Staff and director are very professional and nice!

My boys love it here and have blossomed in the short amount of time they have been going. I’d recommend this place to anyone that worries about the safety and education of their child. ♥

This school works very hard to take the best care of the children in their classes! You can trust them with your precious children!

This is a TERRIBLE SCHOOL!!!
Do NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL!!
Issues:
I had just barley been at this school for 2 weeks. Terri and her daughter are AWFUL. All they care about is money. Both of my children would continuously come home in wet or poopy diapers. My 3yo would continuously complain about being HIT ON THE HAND BY THE TEACHER. When I tried to voice my concerns that’s when the problems started. Terri said that my 3yo daughter did not know what she was talking about and that she was LYING ABOUT THE TEACHER. She had then said that my daughter is NOT ALLOWED to be present at the daycare during the times that the TEACHER WHO HIT HER ON THE HAND we’re working. I then proceeded to just try to keep the peace and go along with agreeing that I will drop them off at 8:30 when she had DEMANDED it. The NEXT DAY my daughters hand had swelled up due to a staff infection from the TEACHER HITTING HER HAND. This. School is OBVIOUSLY not clean for your children. My daughter was in the hospital for 3 days! It was stressful and at a point in time I didn’t know if we would be able to go home. Due to my 3yo DAUGHTER BEING IN THE HOSPITAL, I was not on my phone. I had seen a couple missed calls from the daycare and called them back TWICE I might add. The day she was admitted to the hospital and let them know what was going on. AFTER I had talked to them and let them know what was going on. They seemed to have understood. But no it 100% BACKFIRED on my child. That following Friday evening the day after my child had gotten home from the hospital. I had given the school the proper paper work from the hospital saying that she could return and that just wasn’t good enough. I had then proceeded to call the hospital and get more documentation stating that she IS ALLOWED to go to this school. They then still left her in a chair for the rest of the day. That night they had called DFS ON ME stating that my child was not “Well taken care of and looked like she had gotten burns on her hand and poked multiple times in the arm.” My child JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL FOR STAFF THAT YOUR WORKER HAD GIVEN HER. She has an IV hooked up to her for 3 days and staff on her hand. Due to the staff she had blisters and her hand was swollen. To no surprise the dfs worker was confused on to why he even came out to my nice house where my children have everything & MORE. I was hoping to talk to Terri this week about the incident and she was NEVER PRESENT AT DROP OFF OR PICK UP. It is now Wednesday, and she JUST showed up for work in her new Porch I might add. She did not want to speak ti me at pick up due to them giving me false information and calling dfs. She then handed me a note and said the kids will no longer be in the daycare. The note she had handed me states ALL FALSE INFORMATION on to why the kids are not allowed there. THEY ARE RACIST TOWARDS ALL ETHNICITIES & DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR MELANIN CHILDREN.
I have tried to start off on a fresh start with Terri and her snotty daughter. But they are just too “Privileged” to care about anyone, their children’s well being or even that school.
I recommend you DO NOT ENROLL your children here, she is refusing to give a refund, and will not speak due to her being “scared”. As her co-worker had put it. The employees here are VERY MISTREATED. There is NO A/C in the children room, they are currently using a fan. I hope this school gets what’s coming for them in the future. Their karma will not let that school go in anymore. They do NOT do free piano lessons to kids who are on state assistance. & they do NOT communicate at all. And when they “try” to communicate they make sure they call you in the middle of your work day to ask simple questions that could be asked at pick up. Then they complain about “no communication”. They are NOT professional at all.
PLEASE CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN AND DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. MY 18MO HAD COME HOME WITH SCRATCHED AND BRUISES ON HER LEGS DAILY. I will be taking civil matters due to these issues. And I have taken notes and pictures daily of these problems.

This school deserves negative stars. Terri, the supposed director, is grossly unprofessional and has no business running a daycare let alone a school. She doesn't take any responsibility for her actions and/or lack of action and wants to blame the rest of the world for her problems. This trickles down to everything else. On top of that, my daughter complained daily of being pushed down stairs, hit, kicked, etc. by one of the teacher's daughters. I brought this up, specifically asking them to let me know if my daughter was contributing to the issue. There was no feedback and then she came home with a giant goose egg and bruise on her forehead telling me the teacher said she was fine after she supposedly fell into a shelf. No one from the school told me anything about it! My child is 3 and was at this school less than a month and it's been one of the worst experiences she's ever had, poor kid! This just brushes the tip of the iceberg of issues we had with this school. I highly recommend you do not leave your children at this school, ever. Ever. Save them and yourselves the gargantuan heartache and hassle!

I heard so many bad things about this school but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since it is a “Montessori” school, but I should’ve listened. I’ve been wanting to give them a review but I thought I should just leave it but I can’t just not say anything about this place. An incident happened to my son there to where he had to get stitches & they just acted like they didn’t care & that type of thing just happens all the time. My son said he was pushed by a kid but they didn’t want to acknowledge it & didn’t want to let the other parent know at all & lied on the report. The Director, Terri, is never there! No one is ever at the front desk to help if you needed help. Takes forever for some one to answer the phone. But I do have to say, my son loved his teacher, Ms Kelly. He talks about her all the time. Other than that, I’m glad I pulled my son out of there & will be going to Spectrum Station where they have cameras in every room & a receptionist at the front office all the time & there’s a Director & like 3 other assistant that run the place so you know there’s always gonna be somebody there!

This daycare is HORRIBLE! If I could give a 0 star rating I would! I came into the daycare center to get an application & I definately will NOT work there considering I saw a child's hand be slapped by a worker there. If you want your kid screamed at, kids slapped, kids running around with no supervision then be my guest take your kid here. but I would never bring my kid to this daycare center! My aunt use to take my little cousin to this daycare & now I know why she took him out. On top of all of this, from what i've heard they have a bug infestation. Now of course I'm not 100% sure on that but I wouldn't doubt it considering everything I saw within not even 30 minutes of me being there. Every worker that is there is not professionally trained or has experience. My friend got hired there and got put with the new borns on her first day with no experience & she was shocked! My friend that works there also hasn't got paid for two weeks of working! She's been denied her check. Terri is NOT good at her job or handeling situations. She's rarely ever there either. A worker there was also provoked from working with the newborns for not feeding them & not changing their diapers! Do NOT bring your kid here! I also highly bet that the few good reviews that are on here are fake. Because it says "google user" on all of them and there's never been ONE good review before the past 2 weeks! Do your research before taking your kids here please! Makes me sick to my stomach!

If it were possible to only give zero stars I would but it’s not possible so i will just give one. Please do not put your kids in this type of environment...it’s not safe and there are too many children losing their lives to bad daycares and staff. There are so many other daycares in Blue Springs that will take good care of your children. My children were much better off when i pulled them out of this daycare and put them in Kidding Around. The owner is money hungry and she tries to get over on the parents. She lies and says she has doctors appointments everyday because she’s never there. Very unprofessional. Save yourself the headache!!!!

This place seems more like a money grabbing, babysitting business venture, rather than an actual "Montessori" school. For one, they're not even an accredited Montessori school, despite there misleading name. Tuition is due all at once for the month, or a late fee is applied, even though when we enrolled our children we were told we could pay twice a month. Were the money goes, who knows, because the inside condition of the building is really run down as well as the parking lot. It doesn't get plowed or ice removal during inclement weather. They also do not like to run the heat when it is cold. We were even told by former employees that the building had a mouse problem, but that could just be a disgruntled employee. They close a day before and a day after a major holiday like Thanksgiving, but still charge full tuition. Most parents are still working the day before, so I had to pay another babysitter, even though I paid MDS to baby sit my kids. There is only one boss, the owner, who isn't even there most of the time. No supervisors or managers or even a camera system in case God forbid an emergency occurs. Out of the 6 or 7 months we had our infant in school he had at least that many different new teachers. My wife and I were told there was a curriculum, but I never saw it or was explained what it was. Makes me think Montessori means "free play all day" The parent teacher conference took literally 3 minutes to complete. Very disappointing.

Horrible place! The Director Terri is very unprofessional and unorganized! I was told several times that my payment was lost/never received and was threatened to stop keeping my children If I didn’t pay again only to have her find my original money order once I came with my money order receipts. They are horrible at answering the phone so you cannot call and check I’m on your kids and it takes them atleast 10-15 minutes to answer the door when coming for drop off and pick up! I was late to work everyday because of this. This place is not at all a normal Montessori Childcare provider! Terri is money hungry and that’s all she cares about. She lied to me as well telling me that the state didn’t pay her so I had to pay what the state didn’t even tho I have documents from the state telling me what they paid her. Worst mistake of my life sending my kids there.

Total lies!!!! I’ve made every single payment and have proof! We’re actuallt suing this horrible excuse for a childcare facility.

As you can see the owner is very unprofessional and a flat out liar!

Please parents stay away!!! This woman has some serious mental issues!
