They were professional but comforting. They were not pushy. They listened to what we wanted and made it happen. Katie and Elizabeth were great. They helped us with all our requests. They went out of their way to make sure everything we asked was answered and everything we wanted was able to be done. We are grateful for all the compassion and support they gave us in our time of sorrow

My family and I recently used Carson Speaks Funeral Home for the service of our beloved mom and they exceeded our expectations. She looked beautiful and they listened to our wishes for her. Their commitment to honoring our mom's memory was evident in every detail. Their caring staff created a warm supportive environment. We appreciated the additional support at the cemetery as well. Planning a funeral for a loved one is never easy. Fortunately the good folks at Carson Speaks really help ease the burden. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They took care of the details so we could focus on family. The chapel itself is well kept and tastefully decorated. I hope you don't have to plan a funeral any time soon, but if you do this is where you should go.

I recently lost my brother to Parkinson's and the Carson-Speaks Chapel handled his remains. There wasn't a Power of Attorney to authorize his cremation, so it was left to me and my other two brothers to sign for authorization. This took a couple weeks to get it together. Katie and Elizabeth were very patient and kind throughout this time. They assured me that my brothers remains were properly handled.

We met once in person and since we where from out of state Taylor was able to handle everything over the phone. She kept us updated at all times. Everyone at Speaks where very thoughtful and kind.

Speaks did a wonderful funeral service for my dad. They were very kind and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Taylor and the rest of the staff at Carson’s were so attentive, helpful, concerned, and friendly during such a horribly difficult time. She helped us to feel at ease and she honored my Daddy in a perfect way. Do not hesitate to use Carson’s. They will do a wonderful job during a difficult time.

Losing my dad was the hardest thing I have ever experienced. We were buddies and always there for each other. Jamie, with Carson Speaks was assigned to assist my siblings and I with his funeral arrangements. From the moment we met I knew she was special! Her compassion for our family was so pure. Her way of explaining the process and providing options during our time of grief was respectful and helpful. She truly has a calling to help people. She takes care of everyone! Jamie was able to relate who my dad was so much so that his sweet little grin showed through. To whom ever prepared my dad for his funeral, he looked amazing! Once the funeral was over, Carson Speaks does not just disappear and move on to the next funeral. They see their customers as family and stay in touch. For anyone who has lost a loved one this part is important. They offer services to help you through your grief. They check on you from time to time. My family has used Carson Speaks before and I can not recall a single time when they didn’t go out of their way to help everyone through such difficult times with difficult decisions. I greatly miss my dad every moment of every day but knowing how well he was cared for by Jamie and her coworkers makes me happy. I know without a doubt he would have loved Jamie!

I will be forever grateful for the wonderful staff at Speaks and the heartfelt kindness they showed me during one of the most difficult times in my life. Jan, Robert, Jessica, Elizabeth, and everyone have been amazing.

Speaks handled the details of laying my precious mother to rest last month, and it was no easy task. I was in town for only a few days and had limitations and extraordinary requests that would be impossible for anyone else. But, not the wonderful people at Speaks. They handled everything effortlessly and with a compassion I never expected. There was not one detail they couldn't manage, and not one issue that was missed.

Grieving is so difficult and I'm blessed that I was allowed to get through the last days without any worries. I'm so very thankful for the staff at Speaks, their kindness, their willingness to do whatever I needed, and their ability to take care of the hard things that allowed me to be at peace.

Saying goodbye is so hard and the people supporting you through it can make all the difference. I know I can always count on Speaks, even now, if I ever need anything. Thank you, Speaks, from the bottom of my heart!

Speaks Funeral Home and Taylor Kabrick did an excellent job with my father’s funeral. I’m very thankful for their sensitivity in handling every phase of the funeral.

Both my Mother and most recently my Father had pre-arranged much of their funeral services. Mom's plans were well defined and documented, Speaks had her instructions on file and they agreed with the instructions she had given me. Dad's weren't quite as clear. The staff, especially Jamie, was so patient with us. She let our family work our way through decisions on music and speakers and tribute together. She listened to our memories of Dad and pulled out bits and pieces and helped us with the details that made it a wonderful celebration that reflected his personality and legacy. The day of his visitation and service every staff member who participated was kind, patient, friendly empathetic, helpful and respectful.
I'm thankful that my parents did the pre-planning with most of the expense and decisions made but, I'm also thankful that they chose Carson-Speaks.

We were very pleased with the services provided by Carson-Speaks Chapel. Katie was our director and did a fantastic job walking us through the process for my husbands grandmother. Katie made us feel included and heard during every aspect of the planning. We are very happy with the photo DVD, service pamphlets and obituary that was drafted and emailed for our approval before printing begun. You can feel that she is very passionate about her job and helping grieving families find peace during such a terrible time. Thank you Katie for making this difficult time for our family just a little bit less stressful!

I was treated with dignity and respect every step of the way during the planning of my husband's visitation, funeral, and burial. Each staff member is outstanding, considerate, and caring as they meet the needs of families who are going through a challenging time.

Having a sudden death in the family is devastating, but Robert and Elizabeth, with their knowledge and guidance help get us through the planning and funeral.
The family has been using the funeral home since the late 70s and has always been happy in how they handled the services.

At our age, we seem to be going to more funerals than baptisms or baby showers. Our family has been through quite a few funerals in the last few years with some dismal experiences. However, with Carson-Speaks here in Independence, walking in the door was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. They were thoughtful and attentive. From the first interview all the way through the final service at the burial site, the staff a Carson-Speaks in independence. Missouri went far above and beyond in our time of grief.
