Silver Heart Inn & Cottages

Nice place to stay outside of KC and yet close enough for everything KC offers. Plus Independence is a very entertaining and historical place. We stayed in the main house in the "Stone" room. The upstairs room amenities:
• a comfortable king mattress
• a table with two chairs
• power cords for chargers
• a cold and very quiet air conditioner
• iron and board
• closet and plenty of drawers
• attached and private bathroom, nice shower
• TV
The property has a large garden and patio area in the back which is a pleasant retreat.
We also enjoyed the relaxed relationship with the owners and their generosity with accommodating our occasional use of dishes and the small guest refrigerator. The downstairs also has a wide selection of tea plus an instant hot water supply. We never sampled the breakfast as we are late sleepers. Parking is ample enough for one car per rental, however access is a narrow drive with lower foliage. Any standard SUV or truck can fit but not a 10' tall RV. Road noise was significant at times especially since our room was on the road side. Not a bother to us. This would be our choice for a return visit.

This place is so charming and quiet. If you love old homes with a history then this is for you. We loved that this home had parking spots at the back of the house so that it wasn’t in the road. We also loved that it wasn’t in the city but close enough to get you to the city. When we walked in we were greeted and shown around. They have a hot tub, a beautiful backyard area, and you can tell they put a lot of work into making it beautiful and peaceful.
Charles and Amy were wonderful. The breakfast was amazing and flavorful.

he property was pretty, I loved the historic feel and the hosts were absolutely lovely, the breakfast was good and honestly for the price a really good find in a hotel near KC. The rooms were clean, the hot tub was nice and the snack bar was really cute, they provided an assortment of teas and snacks. Hosts were incredibly helpful, breakfast with other guests was delightful. We appreciated the option of Netflix compared to hotels who only carry cable. You first walk into this grand kitchen with a big island, I wanted to live in that kitchen, I just love their setup. Great experience!

This was a spacious property with rich history. We really enjoyed our stay here and getting to know Charles, Amy and Frankie! They were very hospitable and made delicious breakfast and bakery treats. The beds were comfortable with great sheets. Appreciated the little things like makeup cloth, off bug spray outside, k-cups, creamer, snacks, and lotion. The fireplaces in the bedrooms would be perfect for a colder night stay and add a nice touch to each bedroom. Loved the height and space in the Margery Stone bedroom and the beautiful big bathroom in the Napoleon bedroom.

Such an awesome place so accommodating. Amazing hot tub experience. We spent our wedding night there and returned on our 1 yr anniversary. Food is amazing andy favorite part is the robes and the towels are so comfy . I think Nov 19 the beach cottage will always be ours

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and loved it so much that we made it a yearly anniversary tradition!! Went back for the second time recently and loved it just as much as the first!! Amazing people and environment!! 🥰🥰

We stayed in the Wren cottage for two nights while in town for the Taylor Swift concert this weekend! Our stay was wonderful! This was our first B&B experience and we will absolutely be back! The cottage was cozy and stocked with everything we could need or want, including coffee and creamers! The owners were kind and helpful, always offering assistance and even going as far as asking for dietary restrictions for breakfast. It felt like a home away from home, and we’ll be recommending Silver Heart to everyone!

This place is the absolute best. We didn't want to leave! We got the Beach Cottage and it was very well worth it! The cottage was clean, the staff are fantastic people, and their breakfast was great! When we went out and came back it was like coming home. We were very impressed with everything and recommend this to everyone who needs or wants a very relaxing vacation. The hot tub was perfect and it's even got the best decorations! Will definitely return!!

This was such a great experience I only wish I had more time to spend here! I stayed for one night on my way from North Carolina to Montana & it was such a breath of fresh air! I stayed in the main house & it was so cozy. I got a great nights sleep. I initially wasn’t going to stay for breakfast since I had a long drive ahead of me & the owners graciously packed me a Togo breakfast snack. I decided to stay anyways to get the full experience & I was not disappointed! Breakfast was quick, delicious & the service was impeccable. I highly recommend & if I ever come back this way I will be sure to spend more than one night!

We stayed two nights. We did the Murder on the Petulant Express Mystery with our friends and family.
We dressed in 30s attire and worked in teams to find the killer. Charles and Amy (the owners) worked hard on everything and it shows. The food was amazing. They engaged with everyone. It was a lot of fun. Will definitely try to do this again.
I recommend this Inn weather you are a local for a quiet escape or from out of town.

Great 2 night stay here at the Silver Heart. Hosts were so welcoming and the house is lovely. It was unusually hot when we were there but our room had a window a/c which did the trick just fine. Breakfast was yummy both mornings. Also I really enjoyed sitting at the patio for some relaxing time with my book.

The house is gorgeous, exceptionally well cared for, and clean. The service is impeccable. The kindness and care taken for each guest from special requests to dietary restrictions are handled with grace and true joy. It is clear the owners genuinely care about your experience and excel at hospitality. If I am ever back in western MO we will definitely stay again.

I had a wonderful experience with Silver Heart Inn! The hosts are available and attentive, and the accommodations are clean and comfortable. They easily accommodated my gluten free diet, and even shared a homemade gf bread recipe they love. Felt like being home, except the food was prepared for me for a nice change:)

This is a lovely B&B for a night away! The owners are so nice, rooms are clean and cozy. Our bed was very comfortable, sheet were so soft. We did the monthly murder mystery and it was casual and fun. The breakfast was simple, but delicious: we enjoyed our stay!

This was our second trip to Silver Heart Inn. We love the house and the cottages.

I wish it was one street away from Noland Road, but the quality, amazing hosts and breakfast made us book again for next year! We are coming back to the Beach Cottage.

This was a great distance to Arrowhead Stadium and you don’t have to deal with the highway traffic! The entire house is very cute! Breakfast was amazing! Bed was quite comfortable. We would definitely go back!

Newish owner was super friendly upon arrival! We stayed for our anniversary and as an independence area local I've driven past it all the time decided to stay! Charming, absolutely charming. The beach cottage was clean, comfortable, the cottage has its own private hot tub completely private even from surrounding neighbors! Kitchen was not only stocked with dishes and pans but coffee, tea, liquid creamers, but the spices were stocked! Did not need to buy those small things like spices we forget when on holiday! Breakfast was amazing and cooked at the time we sat down, not buffet style! Full two course style breakfast not those horrible continental. Saturday was my partners favorite from scratch made biscuits and from scratch made gravy with an egg and a chicken sausage link after the first course of honey vanilla yogurt topped with home made plum jam and almond slices! Sunday was strawberry and cream filled French toast made with French bread.. and sausage. Served after the first coarse of a Waldorf salad! Coffee, tea, juice and water were available. And the beds.. when you stay on a bed that is better than at home... just amazing service, charming room.. and plenty of soft plush towels... a perfect romantic get away!!!

The only reason location was 4 * out of 5 was its spring we had windows open and it was very close to a busy intersection and near a firehouse.. when windows are closed though the emergency vehicles and traffic is a lot more muffled and its quiet! But it is very close to a quiktrip and a grocery store! Close to independence Square and other historic travel spots!

The host is exactly the kind of inn keeper you find joy in visiting again!
