Stopped here while in town on a conference for work due to so many local suggestions.

Wow, we were not disappointed! The service was amazing and super friendly and took them up on a couple specials they mentioned.

Ribs were by far the best I’ve had, from here to 10 places in Austin and Houston I’ve tried. Unreal. Best I’ve had in KC as well.

The brisket was juicy and the sides and sauces were fantastic.

If you choose one BBQ joint in Kansas City area, try here first. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Terry Black’s in Austin and Harps In KC. The best.

Harp Barbecue was awesome. We enjoyed the ribs, pastrami pork belly, sweet potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. The ribs are by far the best in all of Kansas City. On our way out, I ended up ordering a brisket sandwich because I loved the food so much.

Tried this place for lunch. It was my first time trying Harp BBQ and it lived up to the hype. Very good BBQ.

I had the Truth Bomb sandwich (chopped beef and sausage). It was phenomenal. Will definitely get it again.

I had cheesy corn for the side and it was good but when I added some beef pieces left from my sandwich, some red onion that came with my sandwich, and a little BBQ sauce it became exceptionally good.

The only negatives are it is a little pricey and they ask for a tip when you order at the counter. A sandwich, side, and soda set me back $23 after tax and before the tip. They unfortunately ask for a tip when checking out and before you get your food. That always feels like extortion not gratuity but a lot of places do this now.

Still it the food was filling and delicious so I’ll be back to try some other things and to get that sandwich again.

My favorite BBQ in Kansas City. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. Their brisket, sausage, and specials are all great. Tyler, the owner, is the man. Very kind and client serving.

I was feeling adventurous the other day and decided to try a new to me barbecue joint that's not your typical Kansas City fare. It's called Harp Barbecue, and it's all about the different style of smoking meat. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The portions were huge, and the meat was tender and flavorful. I especially liked the sausage, which had a nice snap and spice to it.

But the real stars of the show were the sides. The potato salad was creamy and delicious, and the mashed sweet potatoes were heavenly. They even gave me a cookie for dessert, which was a sweet gesture. I felt like I had traveled to Texas and back in one meal. I will definitely visit again and try some more of their delicious dishes.

On our continued quest for the best barbecue in the Kansas/Missouri area, my husband and I drove 75 miles to try Harp. We ordered the Tailgate Pack and a slab of ribs. First impression, it is a LOT of meat for the money. Second, this is true Texas style ‘cue. The brisket is thick cut with a simple rub and is not sauced. It is juicy with a nice flavor and chew. The burnt ends are so tender, they literally melt in your mouth. The jalapeño cheddar sausage has a nice smoke flavor with big chunks of cheese and just the right amount of jalapeños. The ribs are terrific. The simple rub and the smoke make the meat the star of the show. We didn’t even try the sauce with the meat, it’s not needed. We will be back!

Very friendly strip mall restaurant, but very clean and efficient. 2 people preparing orders in full view so you see the quality of the items. Service is quick and the food was excellent. It is juicy and tender and reasonably priced. Drove down from Omaha for a day and wanted to try a new place. My son picked it on the drive and we will be back!

Went to Harps for the first time today. Was extremely pleased. Every single thing we had was very flavorful . It is a little different set up than a lot of places in town as far as the paper plates and general layout ... but it sets the stage for the food to be the star. You aren't there for decor or fine dining . You are there for some amazing BBQ and it hits the nail right on the head . He achieved the best bark thickness and texture while still being juicy and tender on both the Brisket and burnt ends . Very good sides and sauce. Owner dropped by our table to ask us how everything was. We began talking about techniques and how he gets to his finish products . As someone who loves to smoke brisket , I always love bouncing things off of ppl who do it very well. We were discussing the tallow cookies and why they discontinued them in favor of a normal chocolate chip cookie and he brought one out for us to sample. I take clients from all over the world to KC BBQ joints and can't wait to bring more here. Keep up the good work

I was looking for a good bbq place in the Kansas City area and found this gem. Had some great bbq around lunchtime with some friends and this place did not disappoint. Every dish served was a hit and I would recommend 100%

BEST BBQ in KC hands down. Everything is homemade & it is wonderful. From the pickles to pickled onions and all the meat. Perfection. All the sides give you a good amount of food. There is NOTHING on the menu that is bad.

Food was amazing! I recommend the brisket! We tried a handful!

Brisket and Mac and cheese were the fan favorite!

Only thing I would recommend is 1 or 2 high chairs or seats for some kiddos.

Went with the family and we got sandwiches, chili, burnt ends, sausage! Everything was glorious !

Hidden gem of a place for sure. Everything we got was amazing. Brisket and burnt ends were both melt in your mouth tender. The sausage is also underrated as well. Ribs were good too but we’re slightly chewy when I had them. A little expensive but still worth it for the quality of the food. Would recommend if you’re craving dry rub Texas style BBQ.

Some of the best bbq I’ve ever had and topped off with immaculate hospitality and customer service. The brisket chili was LIFE CHANGING and needs to be broadcasted on all platforms for the world to try. Their house made sauce was layered in flavor and I just couldn’t get enough. Burnt ends, pulled pork, sausage, all of them are 11/10 recommended. The Mac & cheese & potato salad?!?!? You just need to try for yourself. Can’t wait to be back in KC to come back to Harp’s. Really hoping to see y’all out here for the Thanksgiving game in Sin City!! Go Chiefs!!

This place was excellent, the best BBQ in Kansas City from what I have tried, but with that said it’s not traditional KC BBQ, it’s Texas style BBQ. The burnt ends were perfectly rendered, the smoked turkey was unbelievably juicy, and the ribs were tender and well spiced. All the sides were on point, all in all it was an awesome meal. Come with time to spare though, as the line seems to get pretty long. The good news is you can drink in line while you wait!

I've never had such excellent brisket in my life. It was juicy, tender, and hand cut very thick. I also found the sausage to be exceptional. I ate a burnt end off of a friend's plate that was also among the best I've had. The sides were also tasty - excellent baked beans and cheesy corn. They have very limited hours so get here early as when something sells out it's gone for the day.

My first time at this must-try BBQ joint near downtown Raytown, MO right outside of Kansas City. Their brick-and-mortar location is not too far away from one of my favorite breweries in the area, Crane Brewing! I came in around noon, and while they were sold out of many of their menu options (they are popular, so get there early!), I was glad that I stopped and tried the pulled pork and ribs! The pulled pork was tender, the rib meat fell off the bone, and the sauce was just the right amount of sweet and savory 🤤 I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town to try the brisket and burnt ends!! I'm excited to see this local start up take off and grow, and happily support them with my business and this review. 5/5 highly recommend!

I would literally die happy after this BBQ. Sausage, ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, all stellar and you can tell Harp is a real experienced person with premier skill smoking these meats. His team is all super friendly. Prices are comparable to any quality BBQ place in town, but the BBQ is easily superior to any other place in town. The place is awesome with a super cool mural giving a nod to some other BBQ gods. You’ll leave super happy and full. Anyone who doubts this is one of the top 3 places to get BBQ in KC, you know their favorite BBQ probably is a hotdog with bbq sauce on it.

I'm not sure how this little gem has escaped my notice until today, but I will certainly return soon. It's an unassuming little place (like most good BBQ places are) with a friendly staff and great food.

The menu is written on a chalkboard which is kinda fun. A little weird that the chalk board is by the pick-up spot and not where you order. The lack of signage was a little confusing, but I used my best reasoning skills and figured out where to place my order.

I ordered a short end of ribs, burnt ends, and sausage. It was packaged up nicely to go and included sauce as well as pickles (which tasted housemade...yum!), and pickled onions.

The food is incredible. The ribs are peppery and tender. The burnt ends are juicy and flavorful, and the sausage was delicious. I thought the sauce was pretty good, but not everyone in my household loved it.

Don't sleep on Harp...it's as good as any of the other KC greats!

I would really give it 4-4.5 but I j ow how 4s can hurt. The brisket was actually cooked properly(could have had a bit more salt) I have had too much dry brisket in KC. As you can see, I want a fat puddle on my paper and this is the first I’ve found so far. They were out of ribs, which is a good sign and makes me want to try them next time I fly in. Could’ve been a bit more up beat but hey, might have been a long day. Got there at 4:30 on a Thursday.
Keep it up!

Added this to our cross-country road-trip after reading about it on various blogs & news outlets. Glad we stopped in and enjoyed some really delicious barbecue with amazing burnt ends and sweet potatoes. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the owner was right there helping run the show! Definitely a great spot to stop if you’re lookin for good KC barbecue!
