Keith Acton and his crew of mechanics are, without a doubt, the most straight talking and honest mechanics that I have ever met. I had an emergency, and I needed to get my car checked out because one of the calipers had locked up against the rotor. I called several shops trying to find anyone who could just look at it and give me a ballpark estimate for the repairs. I called Actons Auto Service at about 11 in the morning, and he said that if I could get the car there by 2 p.m., he would be able to look at it that day. I had two reasons for needing it to be looked at; the first was that I have been paying towards an auto protection plan (Carchex/American Auto Shield) since I bought this car. I spoke with 3 different people who all said that I needed to get a written estimate, and then I could get the car fixed and only be out-of-pocket the $125 tow and the $100 deductible. I waited at the shop for a few hours, and then Mr Acton came and told me that he had done the estimate for the absolute worst case scenario and that it would be a little over $1100. He explained that the person that I had bought the car from (Michael Cantwell), had known that there was a significant problem with the brake system, but they had clearly ignored the problem, and they did a patch job instead of repairing it. One thing that was required for my warranty work was that the mechanic had to call and explain the estimate. By this time, it was a little after 5 pm, which is the shops closing time, I made the call from my phone and handed it to Mr Acton who explained all of the possible repairs that would need to be done. Carchex/American Auto Shield said that no, I did not have coverage for brake repairs (that is a whole other thing). I asked Mr. Acton, what the minimum amount to get rolling again was, and he said about $500, but that probably would solve the problems. I could afford that amount, but I was worried about it happening again. This was after 5:30 on a Friday evening. He had been so helpful, kind, and honest with me besides staying to help me after the closing time. Long story short, I ended up having all of the work done properly because I had an unexpected refund. It was under the estimate, and it was ready on Tuesday. Mr. Acton is the absolute most honest and understanding mechanic EVER! I would recommend 💯 and when my car needs any more repairs, I will be going to Acton Auto Service for life!!👍👏😊

I have been taking my cars to Acton for over 20 years. They have always done great work at great prices. As a single woman I am confident that they will never try to overcharge me or do unnecessary work. The prices are fair, they get my car back to me fast and all of the guys are very friendly and helpful. I always recommend them to any of my friends that need work done on their vehicles, and they are never disappointed.

To be honest I have seen this repair shop for many years but haven't had a reason to use one that much.

My Dads heater core went out and we were looking online to try to figure out who he might want to go with.

We called some places, either couldn't get to it in a timely manner or seemed quite expensive.

We checked with Actons Auto service, they said it would be 2 to 3 days and their price seemed reasonable.

They called him and had the car done in 1 day, now that service!

Acton’s is a quality establishment. They’ve never tried to trick my wife into paying for things she doesn’t need (like other auto shops have done), they are honest, hardworking, and always do their best. Happy to take my car there, even though I’ve moved farther away since I started using their services.

Started going here when I move to the neighborhood four and a half years ago. Been taking my car there for everything since. Really nice guys offer to give you a ride home always squeeze me in last minute. I've had them do oil changes, alternator, inspections, and suspension work. Every time it was done quickly, correctly and at a fair price

About 10 months ago I hit a large piece of steel on the interstate right by Acton's that totalled my transmission. I had no idea where to go, I was just passing thru from Iowa. I looked for a nearby shop and I was very lucky Acton's was just down the street. They replaced my transmission and, long story short, almost a year later it's still running perfect. Very fair price & very happy with the service.

I have used Acton's for 10 years now and I have complete trust in what they tell me. I've had my dealership try to talk me into hundreds of dollars of maintenance and when I seek out Acton's for a second opinion they have the integrity to tell me what is really necessary and what is not, even if it would be more lucrative for them to confirm what the dealership told me.

You can trust Acton's. They do great work and are incredibly kind and helpful. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.

We've had nothing but good experiences with this repair shop. We've brought several different vehicles here over the years with various problems and they've always helped us out at a fair rate. They even gave us a loaner car on one occasion and a ride home on another when their loaners were all out - very considerate!

I found Acton's one day while passing the garage and thought I would give it a shot. I've been going there for over 5 years to get my oil changed and other car maintenance. Keith is always fair, straight forward and they do a great job.Very comparable in price and heads and shoulders above everyone else in service.

Excellent mechanics. Honest and will go out of their way to give you what you want. The other reviews hit it dead on; they're locally owned and treat customers with respect. I don't foresee myself taking my vehicles anywhere else for maintenance. Keep up the good work fellas.

Top notch work. Knowledgeable and skilled technicians. Customers are treated with respect and well cared for. They give options for repairs and don't push to sell unnecessary repairs. I can see why they've been in business for nearly 70 years!

Show up this morning to get a state inspection and did know you were supposed to make a appointment. Guy was nice enough to go ahead and do my car. Location was very out of my area but definitely would recommend

I won't go anywhere else for car service. It's such a good feeling when you know you're being told the truth, and working with a mechanic who tries to save you money rather than run up the bill with unecessary parts and service costs. They stand by their work, too. If something isn't quite right, they make sure to make it right. Just a first class place.

I was facing the prospect of a replacement engine due to a badly rusted exhaust manifold. Several mechanics rejected the job because they were afraid of breaking the bolts which could possible lead to head removal to correct broken studs (very expensive). I called Keith and he told me they were not afraid of breaking studs. "If that happens, we will just drill out the bad studs and insert new ones". I was relieved to say the least and my worry level was now at zero. Now instead of an engine replacement, I am considering new tires for my 20 year old Ford Explorer. Keith, Justin thank you.

Very friendly staff and counter worker. Was quoted 169 to replace a serpentine belt and paid 169 with no pressure to upsell on other things wrong with my car. Great experience Mike Haggard
