Clay County Detention Department

Best jail I've been too so far, staff was really nice and polite.. The police officer that brought me in (Tubbs) was really nice let my mom come get my car. THANK YOU BUDDY! While my stay was short but sweet only thing that sucked besides it was jail and cold, was they don't take card when you want to bail out, cash only. Shucks guys c'mon it's 2018 no one carries cash but otherwise no complaints.

Most of the public attendees are cordial and polite although, one in particular seems to have an attitude most of the time!

The staff is nice but the black mold always gives my sinuses a terrible time, after being there for just a visit my sinuses have issues for 2 days. I'm sure this has an affect on the inmates. Just because they broke the law doesn't mean they should be subjected to living in these conditions. From what I've been told the showers are even worse than when you walk thru the front door and see it on the ceiling.

Officers/Sheriffs ranged from shorter than me (5'6") to beanpole and nothing in between. They arrested me on my 21st birthday and they didn't sing me happy birthday nor did I receive any cake or presents. Instead I was charged with a felony (not convicted though shoutout to my lawyer)! WORST BIRTHDAY EVER! Besides Rico Harris. He was cool. At least they didn't cavity search me, just squat and cough. Silver linings.

Clay County Detention Center barely Feed Store inmates they practically starve them to death and then charge them a fortune to buy things from the commissary so that they can make extra money there's no windows for the people to look out there's no place for them to do anything except watch TV and they charge them a fortune for everything that they want if they need a dentist it's three times the amount that they would pay out here they need a doctor the same thing they need medicine for just a couple of Tylenol they charge them 6 bucks 10 bucks depending on what it is I know that they messed up and they they put themselves there but most of them are waiting for trial and they're not even convicted yet and they're being treated like garbage I'm not the only person who said this I'll talk to many of the the wives and family members of the people that are in there and they have nothing but horrible things to say
