Johnnie's Jazz Bar & Grille

Go for the live music but you absolutely must stay for the food. I’d all but given up on quality, affordable restaurant food but Johnnie’s has absolutely given me hope again. We ordered the Philly and nachos with pulled pork. Both were amazing but those nachos…my goodness. We didn’t even need to add the meat. All the toppings were fresh including the chips which miraculously stayed crispy from start to finish. The toppings were evenly distributed and not just on the top layer of chips. They absolutely got it right and we will definitely be back soon.

Went to watch a movie and had an out to burn so we decided to eat here. They were full with reservations but were able to get us seated. The menu looked nice but the waitress brought out the taco Tuesday menu with $2 tacos. Food was great, waitress was excellent and the Bloody Mary was even better. She made it perfectly and was spicy just how I like it.

Amazing band on Saturday night and I will definitely go there again. Singer has a powerful voice and we enjoyed the live band so much! Strongly recommended if you enjoy live band music.

I didn’t have high expectations for a restaurant in a movie theater, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing! Even though it was a Friday night, there was no wait. We will definitely be back.

Perfect early night spot, had an amazing live band playing while we were there. Tasty food and quite delicious cocktails, it's attached to the movie theatre but feels like it's own place, all the staff were great and the art deco vibe is fun.

Excellent spot to take in a classic live music scene. Service was excellent. Food okay. Drink options very good. Live music stage with the leather seating was the best part for sure.

I went on my birthday for the first time to Johnnie's and I was so fortunate Lori Tucker and her band were performing that night! She and they are brilliant! She's a delight as a person! The food was so delicious, the drinks were as well! (I got the salmon with asparagus and truffle fries, the Blackberry Maker's Mark-arita and the Apple Cider Martini — it tasted just like apple cider, with a kick). The servers and staff I want to give a shout out to as well because they really made my night perfect, too. I've never experienced such top notch service in my life. I could not have asked for a better birthday. I've wanted to go to Johnnie's for years now and now I am hopelessly devoted to you and forever grateful.

For my review I just want to add, this is how much I spent there, you could go and enjoy yourself for less money than me. Don't be dissuaded by how much I spent.

Johnnie’s is an excellent choice. The atmosphere is gorgeous art deco, the chef is fantastic, and the service is impeccable. Come for dinner and music, then walk through the door into the theater and see a movie! Love this place

This place is awesome!! Peyton will definitely take great care of you!! The music is on point!! I'll definitely keep this place in rotation on the visitation list. Come join me on Saturdays. The food is amazing!

You would typically need to head downtown KC for the scale of service, food and entertainment but this place has it all. The staff runs with precision and the food is some of the best around. The bands that play here are always great.

Really nice atmosphere. Perfect spot for date night or hanging with your girls. Food is tasty and nice presentation. Drinks good too! Music takes it higher. Loved it!

Hats off to the chef! This was the best salmon I have ever eaten! The honey bourbon glaze was amazing! Our waiter was on top of it! Great service, great music, had no idea this place was even located in the movie theater. Looking for a date night, this is a must! Thank you for making our evening special. Drinks were great too!

7/8/23 Had a wonderful time with my family. Good food, great live entertainment and wonderful service. One of the best places I've been post pandemic! My granddaughter wants to go again soon.

I went because I wanted to hear the J-Love Band and vocalist Jamie. She has such a powerful, yet sultry voice. And of course I can't say enough about the beautiful venue. The food was served to be a treat to both the eye and palate. And of course our server was on point.

I absolutely love going on Fridays and Saturdays when the live bands perform. Initially, I would experience problems with seating even after making reservations, however, the last few times have been great. The ambiance is extremely nice and it’s a great option versus drinking to the city. I’m heading there tonight with friends.

My husband and I were heading out on our last date night of 2022 and happened to see that there was live event at this restaurant. We'd never been to Johnnie's, and had never seen Ms. Delynia sing! We enjoyed both tremendously! We will definitely be back for the food and the performance!
