The Windmill KC

Circumstances don’t take me to Turner all that often, but Windmill KC is actually excuse enough to make the drive. This is a local coffee spot committed to diversity in a part of town with a sometimes less than stellar reputation in that department.

The staff and owner showed a strong commitment to getting our orders exactly right, and the result was delicious. Though the main dining area was noisy and crowded (and seating somewhat limited), they offered to open up the patio for us. This proved to be a beautiful, plant-filled, quiet spot behind the shop, where we enjoyed our drinks and watched a storm move in. Weather permitting, I highly recommend the patio experience.

Absolute gem! Was in the area for work and will absolutely make this a regular stop! Cozy and relaxing atmosphere and the friendliest staff! Coffee and pastry were delicious!

This little quaint coffee place is away from the norm of your typical big business franchise in a good way leaving you in the embrace of a family owned lovely, affordable place to enjoy great coffee and hometown ambiance! Go!

This coffee shop is one of my favorite in the whole of the Kansas City area. The coffee and food is solid, but more than that it’s the owner and her employees that make this place special. There is always a super welcoming atmosphere. The people are truly joyful at meeting new customers and ensuring you are satisfied with your order. The most wonderful barista is leaving soon but I have no doubt they will replace her with someone as equally kind and gracious. I highly recommend a stop in for the pumpkin cheesecake!

Found this place a few days ago and fell in LOVE!! Delicious coffee I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. The employees just top off the experience! Super helpful and very personable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying it out!!

OMG I so looooooove this place! Nice comfy knook smiles and love! The owners are really nice n down to earth. The coffee is excellent!!! Biscuits n gravy is to tasty too. It's like goin home to moms n having breakfast. Very special people. Very special place. I promise you won't be disappointed!!

Great Service and tasty food! The salsa for the jumbo burrito is amazing! It's a must try! Fruit blends are great in flavor and super tasty. The quiche was perfect and tasted amazing. Great mom and pop Cafe and I will be back for more.

The Windmill KC is my favorite coffee shop! Stopped for a quick bite and coffee. Trying the blended Tux and Avacado Toast. Best little coffee shop, glad it's close. Everyone is so friendly, love all the people there ! Love love the biscuits and gravy!

I am so excited about this new local coffee shop! My latte was great, and I appreciated that they have oat and almond milk options for non-dairy folks. The pastries looked amazing - I will be back to try those soon! Highly recommend this super cute new spot.

I come here every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and service is always topnotch. The women behind the counter always greet me and make sure my drinks are what we asked for. I've come here in the past for study sessions and they were so kind when we stayed slightly past closing by mistake (they closed at 3, but we stayed until 3:10 oops). I highly recommend this cafe. 😊

Just visited this local/family coffee shop because I saw on FB they had a pop up vegan Mexican food lunch today (and every two weeks)— called No Bones About It.

The vegan Mexican food was legit! We got the combo plate of three tacos and another one with 3 street tacos. We got the chorizo con papas and jackfruit carnitas. They were were out of the Portobello Asada. Came with beans and rice. All delicious! Too late in the day for coffee for us but they has Messenger coffee beans. We split some tea. They do the vegan Mexican food every two weeks.

Everyone was super friendly. Check it out!

This is an absolute gem of a place! I came on a recommendation and I LOVE this place! Great coffee, menu and cozy place to relax and have a cup of coffee!

The owners are incredibly nice. The Coffee is top notch. All the pastries are amazing you must try the chorizo burritos with the salsa. If you have the time want a warm or iced cup of coffee, tea or try the mango smoothie. Stop in and say hello you won't regret the choice. You feel an incredible welcoming atmosphere right when you walk in.

Great coffee, great food, and amazing service. The staff was very friendly, and the owner went out of her way to make a breakfast burrito for us after they had sold out. Made our whole day! Already a new favorite spot of ours. Thank you!

This is your new local coffee shop. We just moved to KCK and I was looking for a new local coffee shop, the staff and customers were warm, wonderful, and welcoming. They gave me a couple recommendations for other small businesses in the area like Kaleidoscoops and Hey Sugar. They even have a candle making night coming up that our daughters would love. The people are amazing and the coffee, lemonades, and food are all delicious- can’t wait to try new things from their menu and come back for a friendly conversation.

Turner Days had them busier than normal, still the same great level of customer service! The Eclipse was delicious!

Stopped in to visit with a friend here. You can't see online, but they do indeed serve food here. There is also some outdoor seating in the back but it was winter when I visited. There's plenty of space and different types of seating here. Service is extra friendly. Restrooms are not accessible.

Love this little gem!! The cutest mom & daughter duo, great coffee, I've also had the Chorizo Burrito (SO GOOD!) and now a thick and delicious slice of homemade Pumpkin Bread. I'm also so impressed with the love they pour into their community!! Come check this place out!
