I came to KC AutoWorx for a second opinion on a quote I got from a different shop, and boy am I glad I did! Instead of paying thousands for new struts, shocks, and all that jazz. KC AutoWorx recommended a tire change, wheel alignment, and caught a coolant leak that could have left me in a bad spot. They were fast, professional, and honest.

They are quick, down to earth and are there to help you. Today 4/8/22 they were even better. They took my elderly compact with custom suspension and they took the time to understand it and align it to spec. Kudos to Joseph that is skilled, great service person and even better car nerd.

Next chapter, 10/13/23 I refreshed a new to my SUV engine and they installed it. Have been driving her for a couple weeks now, I am satisfied with the outcome. Hopefully it will hold another 5 years ...

Update, today (1/24/24) I got the SUV inspected and got mi stickers.

I’ve been going to KC AutoWorx for coming up on 10 years now and I can confirm they are hands down the best, most trustworthy mechanic in Kansas City. Their location in downtown KC on Southwest Blvd is convenient and the team is so friendly. I have always trusted Brett and the team to tell me exactly what’s wrong with my car, what needs to be fixed right away, and what can be pushed down the line a little. They are never pushy, very reasonably priced, and work efficiently! I recommend KC AutoWorx to anyone and everyone needing an affordable & trusty mechanic.

These guys are great! We were passing through KC on our way to MS and had a little car trouble. They quickly diagnosed the problem and then promptly repaired it. Great people. We highly recommend them.

I could have very easily been taken advantage of today. Due to the nature of this shop being stand up, honest and trustworthy I was not. They showed me exactly what was wrong, fixed that part and sent me on my way. It's hard to find shops like this. They were on-time, courteous and efficient. Thank you to Brett and the guys for renewing my faith.

If you want to be assured that your car is going to be fixed right and treated like you would want it to be treated, this is a place. Their attention to detail is much appreciated in this day and age when there isn't enough of that. I brought my car in for one thing and there were some safety issues that were noticed, I was consulted, and they were rectified. When you walk in the place you just get a great feeling. Everything is clean and neat and in place. Staff is friendly and courteous and obviously very knowledgeable.

The people are great!!! Can’t ask for a more knowledgeable and experienced crew of workers for your automobile!
A few of my cars they’ve worked on…

Been to AutoWorx in the past with full satisfaction. Air conditioner started putting out warm air intermittently so bought the freon in the can for DIY. This worked for about 4 days. Brought my 2012 Ford Fusion in for evaluation. They hooked it up to their machine which extracted the freon along with the air bubbles, etc. and kept it on vacuum for 30 minutes to detect any leaks then refreshed the freon. Been two weeks now and the air has never been so cold. Great in this very hot KC environment. Brett is very customer focused and explains in non-mechanic terms the process of the repairs. Highly recommend.

I slid on some ice and hit a curb pretty hard. I called and they got me in the same day. They fixed what I thought was wrong, but told me to fix the alignment and a new wheel was 2k, but the alignment was "okay". I decided to take it to the dealership to try and get it covered by warrenty, it was declined but the dealership quoted me 2.5k. I went back to KC autoworks, and the man told me the numbers were off so minimally that if I cant feel a difference I shouldnt do anything about it. For the wheel, he said they can replace it, but that I should go to this other business to see if they can repair it before I decide to replace it to save a litte money. I did, and they repaired my wheel for $215.

TLDR: KC autoworks could have 100% had me pay for everything right then, which I was prepared to do, but they explained everything to me so well and helped me find a cheaper option, even though it meant I was giving my business to someone else. If I EVER have a problem in the future, I wont even think twice about going somewhere else. I cannot reccomend them enough, especially to women who are worried about getting one pulled over on them by other body shops. They are so trustworthy and really help you do whats best. I love this place!

I called KC Autoworx at 4:15 on the Friday before the Christmas weekend. Even though they were absolutely booked up and trying to get all their scheduled appointments finished on time before closing for the holidays, they were adamant that I bring my car in to ensure it was safe to drive prior to leaving town. Nobody else in the city would even take my call.

When I arrived, they found the source of the problem quickly and repaired it for free requesting that I simply have a great Christmas. This team is the real deal and truly care about their clientele. I have no doubt I will be returning with all my future needs. Thank you guys for everything you did for me and everything you do for the city.

These Gents are awesome!! Very impressed with the quality of work they did on my Jeep. Very efficient, knowledgeable and thorough. Quality of work was top notch. Extremely Informative on keeping me up to date as the work was done. Prices are affordable. Highly recommend using them in the future. Great job to the KC AutoWorx Team. You guys Rock.

My husband and I were on our way back home this afternoon (9/12/23) 3 hours from Kansas City when our low tire light came on. I went to the Internet and found this shop about 3/4 of a mile from where we were. The owner could tell we were weary, got us in quickly, an employee repaired the tire, and we were back on the road inside of 30 minutes. Great service with a smile.

This place always makes me feel comfy and taken care of. They are super honest. They work with me on what can be fixed, what can wait, and even told me when my car was not worth the work it needed. Huuuuuuge money saver. Plus sometimes they have a cute pup in the shop. I also love the location, I can drop the car off and explore downtown :)

My explorer started acting up as most do apparently so I did some research and liked what I was seeing from KC auto. They did a quick diagnosis and wanted to have a better look at what was the cause so we scheduled to leave the car for a few hours the fallowing week. The diagnosis was a bad transmission along with a couple of other things that I was made aware of. I opted to get the transmission replacement and the water pump replacement since the engine needs to be removed for the water pump, might as well right? Up on completion of the work I picked up my car and was really impressed with how much better it felt and how it wasn't obvious that it had just been torn completely apart. But of course days after I noticed some stumbling around 50mph. And thought that the transmission was faulty so I called and was given a time to bring it back in. Turns out that I had some misfiring due to a broken spark plug. The cost from the previous repair set me down to where I wasn't able to afford the work on plug replacement even with it only being very reasonable. These guys went ahead and did all six plugs and only asked that I have a good day. Unbelievable in this world today! I will only bring my vehicle to KC auto and I will be there after I get finances stabilized to straighten out what they have done for me. Thanks guys you are a great company and wonderful people. Highly recommended.

Excellent customer service turned my experience around. Things got off to a rocky start due to my car being towed late at night to the shop and me not knowing the door was blocked. When I called to get my car looked at, the call didn't go too well and I posted a negative review.

When Brad saw the review, he took the time to apologize and take steps to make sure that not only were they able to help me quickly and get my car repaired, they changed my whole attitude from being upset to being really pleased. He even let me know some things about my specific model of car that I need to look out for to ensure I avoid common issues with it. I will likely be returning in the future.

I've had work done by a few other shops several years ago but, have never went back after I found Kc AutoWorx. This is hands down the best shop for a fast turn around, and quality work! Thanks guys.

These guys are HANDS DOWN the best go to automotive shop in Kansas city. Honest. Real, friendly, and fair pricing. Don't go get taken by bug dealers for easy things. Please see these guys you won't regret it!

These guys are great. Several months ago I had a lot wrong with my car, it wasn't starting for one, they fixed everything. Then yesterday out of nowhere my car completely died (i was expecting very bad news this time), they allowed me to tow it right to them, and this morning they fixed it (a ground cable issue), gave it back to me, and didn't charge me anything.
I had to write a review.
(This is the 39th St. location. I've never been to the other locations.)

Great trustworthy service, they always explain things thoroughly to make sure I know what I’m paying for, and are honest about what I don’t need to do. I’ve been taking my car there for years, and have always been impressed with the work that they do!
