We were in search of a rooftop bar to enjoy the nice weather and we might have found our new favorite spot! From the love music, to the phenomenal service we will definitely be back. The brussel sprouts were delicious and the drinks were great.

My mind is absolutely blown. I knew about this place. I would have never associated this place with some of the BEST BBQ IN ALL OF KC. I am ashamed of myself for not knowing about it sooner. Tried on a whim after reading some reviews about the Burnt end French dip ... I am blown away....
So much so I came back for dinner later the same day. This time I got the smoked charcuterie platter or whatever it's called... It's all amazing. The star of the show is for sure those burnt ends but something about the au jus with it makes it that much better.

Heck... Let's just go ahead and say it... The burnt end french dip is hands down the best sandwich in Kansas City and I dare you to argue otherwise. Some of the BEST burnt ends of any top KC BBQ joint... Their ends remind me of Joe's in size shape and texture.

Just go try it... Super cool low key hippie vibes. Cool patio.. cool bakery in the basement. A real gem in the heart of the city more people should know about.

Robust delicious menu, friendly staff, great indie vibe that goes beyond a typical burger joint. I enjoyed a solid classic burger, perfectly cooked tater tots, a cozy bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, an indulgent chocolate chip cookie, and a just-right (mild, not too sweet) cinnamon bun latte. Good portion sizes (I ate it all but should have grabbed a to-go box, ha!). Service at the counter for placing orders was super helpful, good table service, and a happy and speedy barista.

OurHouseKC has 3 different spaces for whatever vibe you're after: the main bar and dining area, a side dining room, and a cafe for coffee and treats. Our group of 6 dined for a weekday lunch during KC Restaurant Week, and I suspect the winter weather resulted in us having the place practically to ourselves — although friends said later that the dinner crowd was jam-packed. I look forward to coming back, especially for lunch and brunch!

Update (5/21/24): Very rarely does a business listen to the customer and take the feedback seriously. This one did - allow me to explain. Husband and I were craving the QuesoBirria Taco Tuesday Special. Contacted them reluctantly to place a carry-out order due to previous experiences.

Nathan answered and was polite, efficient, accommodating and more. Arrived to pick up the order, I was early so it wasn't quite ready yet. Lincoln greeted me with a winning smile and a very helpful attitude. I was offered a drink while I waited and they both came to provide updates on the order throughout my wait.

I was so impressed by the turn around in customer service that I spoke to the manager to express my gratitude. All I have to say is Nathan, Lincoln and Joe knocked it straight out of the park and provided me with such a stellar experience that it restored my faith in this business and the service they now provide.

Excellent work guys, please keep it up! I see you and it looks great on YOU!!! We'll see you all next Tuesday and the Tuesdays to come.

Previous Review: My husband and I visited Our House KC today. Upon first entering the atmosphere was good. Olaf greeted us as we came in and we ordered Tatchos and QuesoBirria Tacos 🌮. I didn't like that we were required to leave a card to begin a tab but since it was our first time there we cooperated.

The Totchos arrived first and it was a huge portion. They were good but not as hot as I was expecting them to be when the plate was delivered. Our QuesoBirria Tacos arrived second and were absolutely AMAZING - my sincerest compliments to the chef. The beans that came with them were very flavorful and the consume had a smoky flavor to it and consistency that can't be beat. They were cooked to absolute perfection.

We sat and sat and sat waiting for our check and "To Go" items to pack up our left overs. Olaf assisted everyone else and didn't come back to check on us or send anyone over. When my husband finally saw him he asked for him to come to the table and he says "What do you need?" My husband said " We need you to come over to the table please." He then proceeded to ask what we wanted and sent us to get "To Go" containers ourselves.

Joe from the back happened to walk out and was very kind and helpful. I really appreciate him. They seemed to be understaffed and I hope they adequately staff so the customers can be better assisted.

The food was awesome. Everyone but Joe and the chef needs to step it up on the customer service side, but I can say the value for the money was good. I'd definitely go back for the QuesoBirria because they're some of the best in town but it'd definitely be for carry out only. The dining in experience left something to be desired.

Update 2/1/24: Contacted this business to order the QuesoBirria Tacos for carry out. Brian answered my call. Upon me beginning to place my carry out order he says "Nope. We serv'em on Tuesdays." When I clarified with him they only offer the Tacos on Tuesday he said "Yup!"

I found his tone and approach very off putting and rude really. The food here is awesome the customer service definitely needs some serious work.

First time visiting. The house is very engaging in attentive. Made several recommendations. Could answer almost all our food sensitivity concerns. The wife had the burnt in skillet and I had their chili.

Burnt ends are very tender and tasty. The chili had an amazing flavor to it but definitely benefited from the extra heat from adding some H sauce.

I want to come back and try there French onion soup

This is a great little restaurant. The coffee and the breakfast skillet I ordered were delicious. Food came out pretty quickly, staff was all very friendly.

We do breakfast on weekends here often. When not doing breakfast, we'll swing into the bakery/coffee shop side to grab a coffee and baked goods for our walk home.

Drinks & food options we've had are always great.

Very friendly and attentive staff.

I'm glad this place is so close to our home.

If I had to give a critique, when it gets busy busy, it's tight and hard to move around. Great problem to have, though.

This place is amazing! Much larger on the inside than you would expect, with a super cute rooftop patio, and split level seating areas. We went for brunch on a Saturday and arrived just after 11 and there was only a couple of people ahead of us, but after we'd ordered there was a line out the door that stayed there until we finished, so time your visit well! You do order at the counter and they bring you your food, but it works well.

The food only took about 25 minutes. We ordered a latte, affogado, Santa Fe breakfast skillet, and a breakfast pot pie. Everything was delicious. The espresso was super smooth and the brisket in the skillet was perfection. The puff pastry on the pot pie was light and flaky, and the insides were heavy and comforting. 10 out of 10, will definitely mark this as our fav brunch spot when visiting KC in the future!

First visit and both meals delicious. BBQ sandwich as good as the more famous place nearby (KC Joes). I had Herbivore Quinoa Bowl, a vegan choice, and so good I asked our server what the dressing was. Answer: lemon dill plus red wine vinegar. The combo on the quinoa and veggie mix was unusual and very tasty.

We have previously had food from our house for carry out. Especially during covet it was one of the places we would order food from. It can be a bit pricey, But I feel like the portions are generous and the food is amazing. My husband and I split a salad and the tatchos. Yummy...as you order at the counter, and they drop your food off and leave you be there is not much service opportunity,but it works for them and the food is great.

The food is great. We always get the meat charcuterie plate to share, and it never disappoints. Tried their house margarita this time, and it was amazing!

I had the BBQ Burnt Ends French Dip and PulledPork and Beans. Great!

Fantastic establishment, top to bottom: literally. Beautiful rooftop patio, neighborhood barbeque restaurant, and quirky local coffee shop rolled into one. Smart, professional yet friendly, and prompt staff. Great scratch menu with something for everyone, but definitely barbecue focused. Tons of handmade pastry in the coffee shop, and a solid bar program anchored by professionals.

We had a great first experience at Our House!

Our bartender, David, took great care of us and helped us choose our lunch orders. I had the smoked chicken salad sandwich and really enjoyed it! The smoke added a nice extra layer of flavor and the toasted bread was dressed perfectly with lettuce, tomato, and red onion.

My wife had the burnt end French dip and it was phenomenal! I'm very fortunate she was willing to share and will definitely order this the next time I am here.

Looking forward to checking out their coffee, Jacob's bakery offerings, and the rooftop patio.

The service was SO wonderful! The drinks were awesome and the bartender was able to make a Virgin mojito for one of the girls in our group because she is pregnant. One of the pancakes we ordered was a little undercooked, so they gave us a huge cinnamon roll to make up for it and it was so delicious! HIGHLY recommend this place!

UNREAL!! We had the meat and potatoes skillet, burnt ends French dip, a caramel pecan sticky bun, and coffees. Stupid. Insane. IMPOSSIBLY GOOD!! The music is great, the staff are friendly, the coffee is really fresh and delicious... even the bathrooms are great haha! But the real kicker was thee French dip. The meat was SO TENDER. Really glad for the experience, and will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely incredible little place. Guy at the counter was super helpful (order and pay at front, food is delivered to table). You get a fun little poster thing thats on a stand of a music icon for identifying where they should deliver the food. Tons of seating; roof top patio, basement, and ground level seating. We sat on the rooftop and it was very well laid out and pretty. Onto the food. I had the BELT or BLT with fried egg. I love BLTS and the egg was the perfect touch for the sandwich. I had it for lunch, but I think it would be a great breakfast option. Fries were crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside (my perfect match). The other staff was quick although it wasn’t really that busy. Will definitely be returning soon when in the area. Thanks, staff!

Here visiting for the weekend and was recorded by the bar down the street. Great food. The owner joe is supper cool. Roof top eating as well. Just fantastic.

First timer here! The food here was great and freshly prepared! We ordered the brussel sprouts first, then the Smoked Cuterie Platter with burnt ends. All the meats were tender and well smoked. Also enjoyed the bbq sauce. You should try them out! Note that you go to the counter to order and pay, then they bring the food to your table. No waitstaff. Also, be sure to park in the garage off State Line. They do validate your parking for up to 3 hours.

I saw the KC club sandwich photo in the reviews and just had to try it. My husband and I went after work and this was exactly what we needed to turn on Wednesday night into a good night. The atmosphere was very welcoming and so was the staff. I had a delicious Mojito, made by Brian, and we enjoyed the rooftop while eating our dinner. It was also a treat to learn that everything is made fresh! I look forward to coming back to this place on a regular basis, especially for the weekend brunch (plus the bottomless mimosas) I would gladly leave My Home for OurHouseKC.
