Great small record store with a huge selection of new and used vinyl. This is my second visit, and I will definitely come back when in the area.

One of the most expansive record shops I’ve been to, with rows of new, used, and hard to find vinyl.

Employees were helpful over the phone to confirm availability of a new release.

Large selection of turntables to hit all price points, and awesome music playing while you shop.

Fun Vinyl

I love visiting vinyl stores while visiting new cities. I drove by this place a couple times before going in. I'm glad I did as I picked up 5 EPs for 5 dollars!

I could lose myself in here just listening to music. The details in this business are fabulous from the decor to the music. The service was excellent as well, and the gentleman who helped us was very knowledgeable about music.

If your a music junky like me, I highly recommend visiting here weather your selling or buying. Thanks!

There aren't enough characters to explain how amazing this place is. The vinyl, the impeccable customer service, and especially the in-store events - there is something for everyone. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted, they ask if you need help looking for anything in particular and they always offer to help you if you have any questions. I admittedly spend way too much time there (if that's even a thing) but it's a no-brainer to buy my vinyl here with the number of positive experiences I've had here. If you plan on visiting again, don't miss out on signing up for their loyalty rewards program.

One of the best record stores in KC! They have a wide selection of vinyl and very friendly staff. Going here would be the perfect way to accidentally spend most of your Saturday.

Fantastic record store with a lot of good finds as well as some stuff you might not find elsewhere, very friendly and helpful staff as well as great location and decor, especially love the bird motif and ceiling mural, easily one of if not the best record store in Kansas City.

Wonderful selection of the best records and books. Great staff, very helpful. Pleasant and took the time to give great recommendations on other things to do in KC. Even when I was undercharged for a book, they said not to worry about it. Top notch!

We stopped in here in the way back home to Milwaukee. The selection was amazing and the worker was incredibly kind and helpful. If we pass through Kansas City again, we’ll be sure to stop in again (though I think if we’re ever driving through the area in general, we’ll probably go out of our way to stop in).

Such a cool store. The music they have playing is always interesting. And their selection is outstanding—I always find something good in the bargain bin. The vinyl is organized really well into genres, price points, and new releases. I hope with the rise in CD sales they are able to curate their CD section as good as they have their vinyl section. What a place!

The store is clean and well organized. Every record I have purchased here has been excellent. Last time I came in to sell some records that I had been given. They gave me a fair price, and I got talking to the guy that was cleaning the records, and gave me a good education on the interesting topic of people buying records just for the cover.
The only problem I had with this place was being told not to pet the dog. The dog is sweet and wanted me to pet him. 🤔

Always good to check inventory via phone for me. Large selection. I don't visit as much as others in the area simply due to parking and the new arrivals are in a rack that my back won't hold out to try to go through (better for younger people or older thin people with good backs). Probably the largest inventory in the area.

The atmosphere, the vibe, the setup is simply perfect. This record store was the only one that had a record we couldn't find anywhere else. They had plenty of copies, too. We called ahead of time and they held it for us until we got there to pick it up.

Great selection of used records. Tons of new stuff, too. Good staff with lots of knowledge who will treat you like a family member just for visiting. Good punk and indie selection. Definitely a must visit for any vinyl fan.

Update: I reviewed 5 stars 3 years ago. Here's what's changed: location. Still my favorite shop, staff is awesome, prices are awesome, if you are in KC and you don't visit...I fear for your soul. I love Mills.

Great selection! Solid prices! The dudes working were fun to talk to and very knowledgable on music and especially their own stock.

Great new and used selection. One of my top 3 record stores in the entire midwest. Friendly staff, very record-centric store, some bins a bit too crammed makes browsing difficult, but this store is a must-visit in kc for vinyl lovers. Prices are fair. Parking very close is usually possible. Support this amazing business!

The store is great for music discovery. Plenty of new and old records. The vibes are always good in the store. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Also take a look at the books or grab a t-shirt.
