Huge selection, helpful staff, and good prices. The plants we bought were healthy and are doing great despite my not-so-green thumb. Bonus points for fresh produce available to purchase in season.

Pine’s had a great variety of healthy vegetables and herbs, even though I was there fairly late in the season. They even had some uncommon plants that I was excited to try like bay and rhubarb. Can’t wait to see them take off!

As always, great nursery and awesome staff. Visited on a rainy weekday afternoon in early March. Staff was able to spend a lot of time with me, answer my questions, and give me the benefit of their experience. Left with exactly what I needed for my spring project with reasonable prices. Hats off.

What a wonderful garden center. I’ve been shopping with Pines for years even though it’s under new management it’s just as beautiful and improved and gorgeous as ever enjoyed the visit I’ll be back.

Would like to update this review. I have be back since they changed ownership and have nothing but good things to say about them. They are helpful and kind. They also seem to have reasonable prices. I like the new layout of the front aswell. (Old post... Seems like some people here have a attitude problem.)

The flowers were so much more alive than ones from the hardware store, highly recommend.

I purchased several perennial and annual plants from Pine's in Lawrence, KS this past summer and I am so pleased with how well they all grew and blossomed! Pine's have an extensive array of plants you may not find anywhere else, the lay out is nice, it's not too large like some places but it is big enough to have a wide array of unique plants, shrubs and large potted plants. I would recommend this garden center to everyone. The prices aren't big box store prices but you certainly get your moneys worth, I'm still enjoying the blooming plants I purchased 5 months ago! I will be back next year to purchase several rose plants. And thanks to my daughter for recommending I visit this wonderful garden center :)

Great prices, great selection and a fun shopping experience. The aisles are narrow, which is challenging if you use a garden cart, but the selection is so vast, a cart is a must! I can't wait to go back. The penstamen and sedums I bought are thriving.

They have a wide variety of plants, all impeccably cared for, at reasonable prices.

They have a great variety of plants to choose from. The place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Last year I went to 4 garden stores and I wish I'd gone here first. I'm new to the area and didn't know what a gem Lawrence has with Howard Pines Nursery. This year it will be my first and probable only place I go for Garden needs. I can't wait to go back.

Wow, this place was truly amazing. Every plant is grown from seed, on location. Every plant was healthy and well groomed! They have several large greenhouses to wander through, and they carry a huge variety of plants to choose from, from seeds to young and well-matured plants. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with all of our needs. The amount of love and care that is given to these plants truly shows. We will be back! With friends!

This is my favorite greenhouse and nursery in Lawrence. Many locally grown plants, and an amazing variety. Sure it's a bit more than buying from grocery and hardware stores, but you get what you pay for. The stock is always well cared for and healthy. The staff of this long time local business is helpful and knowledgeable.

Incredible prices, got some beautiful huge succulents for $6.75 that would be so much more elsewhere. The staff is also AMAZING truly friendly and knowledgeable

Nothing better than a trip to “the Pine’s” on a cool Spring day. They always have such a great variety of reliable favorites but new items as well. High quality products and a friendly, helpful staff.

Best garden center in town! The plants I purchase from Pine's are always hardy. If they're perennials, they come back year after year. Crops produce wonderfully. Plus, they have an awesome selection and variety of uncommon plants.

They do a great job with all the plants. Healthy and beautiful with most of them grown there from seed. It's hard to go in there and not buy more than intended. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
