South Park Gazebo

Very beautiful structure, I love visiting Gazebos because they’re like a little oddball castle building in a city! and I honestly love them for the same reason I love decorated bridges, especially fancy old bridges.. Both are like a link to the past :)

Every Wednesday in the summer the Lawrence Band plays so this is always a relaxing and enjoyable time to unwind.

Tons of space for fun outdoors. Playground equipment, picnic tables, kids wading pool in the Summer, outdoor events like City Band performances, fun runs, arts & crafts show and much more.

Beautiful view and good place to nap, hang out, etc. Honestly I confess that I was homeless for a few months now and then I started sleeping here and charging my phone and chilling out anyway that I possibly could, and everyone else who had showed up to hang out here was very nice as well as a community!!!! I would definitely make a reservation for a party, gathering or even a live show or live podcast stream in the future!!!!

After moving to the downtown area, I appreciate the nature and quiet of going for walks here.

We love this park. My daughter goes to KU on Monday thru Thurs so we drive from Olathe at this point. We have a dog/Truly who loves this park. We go here to eat lunch. It is a beautiful park. Can't wait to see it in the Spring too FYI! Truly loves chasing the squirrels. She is a rescue adopted from Lawrence Humane Society. We love her so much. Please check out South Park!

Historic spot that continues to stand out!

Fall Art In The Park is always a fun event,,,the music is always good and keeps things jumping all day! There is beer and other refreshments for you along with any craft item u might be interested in. This is an annual event and should be included on your calendar!

I had the pleasure of watching and listening to the Lawrence City Band play here last night (Wednesday). Kids were playing, dogs were watching the kids play, and kids were watching the dogs watching the kids play. All in all a very enjoyable park with plenty of trees to sit under. Remember your bug spray though, it is Kansas.

It’s the best gazebo in South Park. Planning on getting married there. I think the top step is wobbly so look out for that. It’s a nice peaceful place to relax with your partner or go for a walk around the gardens.

The art fair was so much fun. Saw some great vendors, ate some wonderful food, and bought some great pieces. The weather was perfect to be outside today.

Great place to sit back and relax with your friends and family members. City of Lawrence is doing a great job with this park through the season of the year 🤗🤗🤗 Keep up the Good work!!!

Beautiful park. Lawrence and Massachusetts street is always dynamic. And aunt Sue is the best !

This gazebo sees a lot of action. Definitely one of the nicer ones in the area with a beautiful park surrounding it. My family and I always visit it when we go to South Park.
