Dr. G quickly identified the problem with my puppies’ eyes and we started an aggressive treatment plan that saved their eyes and vision. And the staff is so nice! So glad we had this resource close to us. (Before treatment and after treatment pictures)

Had the unfortunate event of having to take our daushund here after noticing vision issues. The vet techs were friendly and made sure to explain all the tests that were being done. The veterinarian was very thorough and reassuring through the process. The price is high, but that is expected for this level of care and specialty.

I have never been treated with so much compassion at a clinic in my life. Everyone from reception, techs, the doctor were all wonderful! I did not feel pressured or rushed, everything was explained to me very well. You can tell the people who work here truly want to help animals, this is not just a job to them. It was very expensive, but you can’t put a price on potentially getting your pet’s vision back, and they are up front about pricing, making sure you are agreeable to everything before they proceed. I feel like the testing done was probably difficult and used very pricey equipment, so of course they have high prices. They take multiple payment methods, including care credit. They are obviously quick to respond to insurance as well, my claim from yesterday’s visit has already been approved less than 24 hours after, meaning they got right back to my insurance when records were requested. We are so lucky to have such a knowledgeable doctor so close to us (I am from the Quad Cities). Thank you again for everything you have done for my dog so far!

Today my dog had a consultation looking at his eyes- he is double merle and I knew his vision was impacted but wanted a clearer view and understanding if I should expect more deterioration. The history is thorough and records went seamlessly from our usual GP vet. The tech was lovely and was very kind handling my boy during exams and testing. She was fun to talk with and you can tell genuinely cared. Dr's (both resident and lead) were patient as I rewarded my dog with treats throughout the exam. Dr was very thorough in his explainations and I left with a much better understanding of my boy and a plan of action. Thank you to the team who helped us today!

Dr. G and the whole team at Animal Eye Consultants are helping my poor baby heal from a scratch she got in her cornea. It got infected FAST (it got bad in mere hours!) and I got referred to them when my regular vet decided that a specialist would be better suited for the task. Dr. G has always been very honest and up front about the proposed plan of action, why, and her chances of regaining sight as the injury heals. She's healing but we aren't sure how much sight she will have when this is all said and done... My puppy loves them here - she's excited to see them when we pull up even though she knows they're going to mess with her face! Being a specialist, they're pricier than a standard vet, but I still think they're reasonably priced (for the most part) given all that they do and how much they care.

Excellent hospital, excellent staff. I have brought my dog from St Petersburg, Russia for a complex glaucoma surgery to Dr Grozdanic in Iowa, since he is one of the most experienced dog glaucoma surgeons in the world. It was a very long trip for us, but definitely worth our time and money. Would recommend this hospital to anybody in the need of the best care for their dog with glaucoma.

All the staff at animal eye consultants are very nice and helpful. They are great with my boxer and treat her very good. I highly recomend this office to anybody that has a dog with an eye problem.

I took my puppy here for an exam after he had a head and face injury due to running into a moving vehicle. It was very traumatizing to me because he is my baby and I love him so much. The staff was very helpful and communicated with the pet hospital I had initially been referred by, and has taken good care of my pup when he was there for the exam. Very professional and the Dr explained the treatment plan in detail which I appreciated.

Our dog started in February 2020 with an eyelid tumor and a deep corneal ulcer. We had the tumor removed and our dog developed complications, corneal melting and a second procedure. We thought he would lose his eye. The Doctors said techs were always very caring and hopeful. 7 months later, due to their expert care, our dog has both eyes and is managed with twice a day eye drops. We are very grateful customers for life!

My dog, Bailey, was scratching her eyes with her paws. Then she kicking her paws to get rid of the goop she picked up while scratching! Nothing positive was going to happen unless we changed things around. My vet suggested I take her to Hiawatha to Animal Eye Consultants. Got an appointment within the week. Goop continued to come out of Bailey's eyes.
They ran test after test and I brought her home with 6 medicines and I had an eye drop prescription at home.

Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids has had many pet patients treated at animal eye consultants of Iowa. Dr. Grozdanic and his staff are second to none. They have saved the vision in several of our medically challenged dogs and cats. Dr. G has an amazing staff and they are knowledgeable and very accessible to their clients and pet patients. As an animal medical non-profit, we depend on this clinic’s expertise and surgical skill. They are truly wonderful people who care deeply for their patients. Plus Dr. Grozdanic brings his highly technical skills to areas that have no access to a veterinary ophthalmologist. The entire clinic, doctors and staff are also very philanthropic in the community. Best of the best and we thank them.

Excellent Vet. You don't need a Vet that specializes in eye health and first aid until you need one, then you really need one.

They have taken very good care of my greyhound's Pannus for almost 4 years now. Very happy with the specialized care. We are lucky to have Animal Eye Consultants in eastern Iowa!

Animal Eye Consultants took very good care of our dog, Macy, when she developed an eye ulcer. They were very explanatory in the way they would treat her and always took our feelings into consideration. We wouldn't hesitate to come back if needed.

Sometimes even veterinarians need to to take their dog to a veterinarian. My wife and I are both veterinarians with 30 years of practice experience between us, but recently our 6 month old Boston Terrier, Luna, needed expert care beyond that which we could provide. She had a corneal ulcer that ultimately led to a perforated cornea. We contacted Dr. Grozdanic at Animal Eye Consultants of Iowa and he got us right in. He was very thorough in explaining all of our options to remedy Luna’s eye issue and took time to answer all of my questions. We are still early in Luna’s healing process, but I have every confidence that the course of therapy outlined and performed by Dr. Grozdanic will work. Great patient care and expertise. Every person who worked with my cat and me seemed knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs. I appreciate the way they make sure everything is clear and understandable in the exam room and in the medical report they send after my visits.
