Hollander Insurance

I would NEVER use Chris Gentry or Hollander insurance and I have filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau.

My husband called at the end of August to have his insurance agent do two things: fax proof of insurance to my insurance company and then cancel his insurance. He called multiple times over the course of two weeks and never got a call back; the only way to get in contact with his agent was to keep calling until he finally got ahold of someone.

My husband was told that his insurance was cancelled and he would be getting a refund in the mail for the month of September. They never did fax proof of insurance; I ended up taking care of that myself. October 1st our bank account was debited for October’s insurance premium. My husband called and tried to get ahold of Chris, which of course he was unable to do. He called Blue Cross/Blue Shield directly and found out that he had been lied to- his insurance had not been cancelled. This meant instead of getting the $400 refund we were expecting, we are now out $800 due to the incompetence of Chris and/or other Hollander employees.

My husband finally got a call back at the end of the business day (first time anyone has called him back after a month of trying to get ahold of someone!) saying things had been taken care of, leading us to shake our heads in disbelief. We know things had been taken care of because we did it all ourselves. I am going to surmise that the only reason we got a phone call back was because I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau yesterday.
