The Jitney Wine Bar

Stopped for the night and found this place. Great food and not the usual menu items. Pork quesadillas were fantastic and the scallops melted in your mouth. Bacho melt for an appetizer is highly recommended. Place was packed on a Saturday night (mainly locals) and I think they only had a couple waitresses but she was very nice and checked on us often.

Awesome restaurant for such a small town. Most smoke flavored pulled pork I've ever had.

Great place to enjoy dinner and wine. Unique decor, excellent service, reasonable prices, delicious food.

I cannot say enough about the Jitney. We drive from Cedar Rapids to go here. Wonderful food, drinks, and service! Great place for parties - we have had at least four gathers ranging from 15-30 people where they served us family style that has been consistently excellent . Great selection craft and import beers, cocktails, and wine. Definitely worth a trip!

I meet friends here occasionally. The drive from Iowa City is well worth it. Delicious food and beverages, unique decor, and helpful staff make you want to stay. Looking forward to my next opportunity to dine there.

Great craft beer, cocktails, and large wine selection. Smoked meats are great. Favorite is the Salmon Bites, though. Don't be afraid to try some of the more unusual items on the menu.

Such a great place in small town Iowa. Some friends turned us on to this place and a group of us went recently. The beer selection was great and the food was even better. Well worth the drive from Cedar Rapids.

This place was great. We went as a family with young kids, and they were very accommodating, though our particular kids struggled to find food they wanted to eat. Seemed like everything we ate was super salty, but if you know what type of food you're getting going in then you won't be disappointed.

The food and drinks are out of this world! The staff is great! I LOVE the Jitney! Great place to go after work or just an excellent place to gather with friends! Angus is an outstanding chef!

There is NOTHING like The Jitney in the 46 U.S. states we've traveled to; from the friendly "Cheers"-like atmosphere to the incredible food which is not your usual bar fare. Good luck choosing just one dinner item off of their amazing menu. Which just means you'll have to go back. Again. And again, and again...

A restaurant you'd expect to find in Iowa City or Dubuque. Terrific craft cocktails, nice atmosphere, and we loved the shrimp tacos and quinoa salad!

Great food, great conversations and excellent place to frequent! Very unique, special place! Everybody should go to this place!

We are so lucky to have a place like this in Monticello. They are friendly and pleasant. Love the variety of foods and libations (beer and wine and cocktails)
