The food and service was amazing 👏. The Kolaches were fabulous and the Swiss steak was so over the top I wanted the recipe 😋

Found it very easy. Plenty of parking. The buffet was wonderful. A great variety to choose from. The coffee was good.....something that is very important to my husband and myself! The owner, Gwen, came up and introduced herself. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel very welcome! We will definitely go back and will highly recommend it!

This is a place of pure nostalgia for me. The food is most if not all "home made". Last I checked a buffet is offered at least daily. The buffet is like a home cooked holiday dinner at a family gathering. Service is pleasant and attentive. The dining room is well kept classic, and whimsical with high ceilings and many nostalgic decorations. Last time I was there Gwen was still running the show. I see the place is for sale. I hope the new owner manages to preserve this wonderful place. As far as I'm concerned Gwen's is the crown jewel of Lisbon and a place that makes Lisbon a destination.

Saturday morning buffet has good selection of food. The staff there keeps the food in the buffet well stocked with hot well prepared items. The waitresses are prompt with juice water and coffee and keep the coffee cup full. Buffet cost and tip will hit you up for about $10.00. Excellent value.

Great homestyle food. We had the buffet and salad bar. Very delicious. It is like a restaurant run by moms and grandmas ... that style of food and they worry the same...they want to make sure you have eaten enough and they check on you fairly regularly... but not so much as to bug you. I loved that the first time we ate there they were worried we hadn't eaten enough, and the second time we ate there they kept calling my hubby and I 'kids'... as in "are you kids still doing good?"...it made us smile and feel very welcomed.

Very nice small town restaurant. Pleasant service, large portions, all three in my party found meals to be delicious. Prices were reasonable. While we were just passing through, I would gladly stop in again. Ps, all plates went back clean.

Loved the buffet. So much food, lots of choices. And homemade! Great staff, even the owner walks around checking on everyone. So worth the drive. Definitely one of my new favorites!

Looked for a nice little place to catch a bite to eat prior to the high school football game. I drove well over an hour to eat at Gwen's. I promise you this, I WILL be returning. I rate Gwen's as one of the top home cooked restaurants in Iowa. Price was exceptional, food was to die for. Our waitress was so pleasant and friendly, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I can't say enough good things about this place. I give a 10/10 star. If you haven't tried Gwen's you are missing out!! Friday all you can eat Seafood. OMG!! Its fabulous!! I wish I could tag photos that I took of this place so that you can see exactly what I am talking about. I guess you'll have to go to Gwen's to find out for yourself. Make it a date night with your sweety. You wont be disappointed, I promise!!!

I can give you lots of reasons to go try Gwen's, but the best way to sum up my feelings are this...eating there feels like home. From the food to the people, this is the best example of a family restaurant.

So much food. I got the all you can eat fish special. Choice of potato and three, count 'em, three sides. Fish....and shrimp. And clams. And Scallops. No easy anybody gets a second plate. Everything was very good. Welcome to downtown Lisbon!!

Had dinner special and burger. Would pass on the ribs... Fast friendly service and great pricing. Cute but rather outdated but friendly accommodating staff made up for it. Would recommend and will return.

I love Gwens!!! I could eat there every day! Gwen is so sweet and funny and the food is awesome! All the staff is very nice and they make you feel right at home.

I love coming to Gwen's! The staff is fantastic the food and the food is delicious! I brought my fiancé here all the way from Kalona for the 1st time and he can't wait to come back!

The food ward great! We had the buffet and everything was fresh and cooked nicely. It was also inexpensive and the people, very helpful and friendly!

Great buffet on Sunday for lunch. Polite, helpful staff. Nice atmosphere with old toy farm equipment, old signs, old movie posters and an aquarium with big fish.

Wow love this place it been my 3 time there I am visiting from Tucson AZ the food is the bomb my friends are moving to Tucson AZ they will miss the food a lot the people are so nice thanks gwens for meeting you your very nice n funny too

Went on a Friday, had seafood buffet, everything was great. Good food, good price, excellent service. Going back again soon.

Good homemade food. Had crab legs (2 bunches) and all you can eat seafood buffet (Fridays) for $16. Its real comfort food

Great food. Very generous portions, terrific service. Had to get the pie to go.
