We stayed there with our camping group (Charter Oak Camping Club) opening weekend in April 2024. Our group consisted of 14 families. The sites we spacious and the views were great. Valarie, Alica and Vince were great to work with throughout the process of making our reservations and while there. From checking in to when we left, they were very accommodating and went well above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this campground when in the area.

This camping ground is wonderfully small, clean, quiet and the utmost of serenity . From my campsite, Pool View, the stars are the brightest lights, and after hours, the loudest noises are those of nature.

The owners are the best pair, they were extremely accommodating, kind, and caring. I can't wait to come back again.

I never seen a campground that is clean. The restrooms are outstanding. And the owner Valerie and her sister are outgoing and friendly. All the staff are outstanding friendly helpful. I will definitely will be back. Thanks Valerie

We had our first camping experience 3 weeks ago and loved it so much that we went back again and will be going back many more times! The owners are super friendly and amazing and they work so hard on keeping it very clean. This is our new favorite spot that offers a fun and peaceful time with friends and family. What made it more special was the story time provided by the owners at night at our campsite location. Thank you for a great experience!

I had to stay somewhere on the drop of minute, I came , I was greated by a older lady with pink hair - extremely welcomed, very polite, rest of staff great , had a bit of conversation as I am From South Africa, got taken to the cabin , everything was nice and clean , AC was on , took a stroll around and took a swim in there very large , well kept pool , the day bathrooms was nice and clean,

It's a little hidden gem , very quite , peaceful, talked with other campers, all are very friendly and 4 invited me for dinner with them ,, that's not even night no 1 !!!!

All I wanted to do was break away from work , not to far -

I'll be back with my Camper for a week or 2 before season ends -

Nice place.

This place is awesome. My wife, daughter and I went for a long weekend getaway. Upon check in the front desk receptionist was pleasant and friendly and made us feel welcome. We were then escorted to our cottage by Laura. Laura exhibited the same pleasant and friendly demeanor. She made sure we were all set before she left us. The room and bathroom was clean and the a/c was comfortable. No musty smell at all. We were having so much fun that we decided to stay an extra night and it was well worth it. The owners came by and personally greeted us and welcomed us to thwir retreat. On our last night Alicia came by and read us a story that she wrote. Simple and very entertaining. Nice way to end our stay. Definitly looking forward to going back.

I have to say, of all the campgrounds I've been to in CT, this by far is the best! The owners are so accommodating and friendly! They truly go above and beyond! That's what makes this campground the best ever! I can't wait to come back! There's not a lot to do activity wise which I love. I just like to relax and not feel like I'm missing something! Very lovely owner also comes by at night to tell a campfire story! This was such a great time! See you soon!

In a world full of noise, what a pleasant surprise Grandview Campground and Cottages were to find quite by accident. We have been full time RVer’s for 15 months and with Grandview being our 35th stop on our 10,000 mile journey, we feel like experts in campgrounds. Grandview felt like what campgrounds use to feel like; families gathered around the fire pit while kids played hide and seek behind the huge trees. The campground has old fashion horseshoes set up, a basketball court, a pool and pavilion. They’ve got buildings rentable for family reunions and weddings too. But the very best part of our stay at Grandview was the kindest and most helpful owners and staff in any campground we’ve ever been to.

Anything you’d ever need or want in a fairytale like setting is exactly what we found in Moodus, Connecticut, of all places.

We found ourselves face to face with a family crisis and had to find a campground that could squeeze us in with very little notice. We had a lot of rejections before finding Grandview which we didn’t even know at the time was a blessing in disguise.

It was an added bonus that they have cabins interspersed throughout the campground. We were able to have family members, flying into Hartford, rent a cabin right in the campground we were staying at. And, although we had never heard of Moodus, CT, it turned out to be convenient to everything. We squeezed in trips to the water, an amazing off broadway production at the local opera house, great food choices and an easy 40 minute trip to the airport.

Honestly, Grandview was the best example of campgrounds we have happened upon during or journey. We will definitely be back.

We can not express how pleased we were with this campground. We stopped by on our way to Acadia State Park in Maine and the owners were both extremely helpful with directions and accommodations. The campsites were very peaceful and the outhouses were extremely clean. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Thank you for a wonderful time!! You helped make our unforgettable trip even better!

Came in for a one night stay to get our little guys out side. This was a last minute trip and we couldn't have found a better place! The staff and owners were just out standing, they do absolutely everything to make your stay the best. They lead us all the way to our site and brought our ice and fire wood up to us! The young man made sure we were all set before heading back. And than as night fell they had a story teller come to our site and read us a campfire story! Our boys were so impressed, they also loved the pool and little play ground (as another guest did mention it is small and could use some updating but the boys still enjoyed it). The pool was clean and tidy a great place to just relax. The arcade was also great! Bathrooms and showers were very nice updated and clean.
I recommend if you are staying in a tent ask for the pool view site, it was perfect, close to the pool, arcade and bathrooms. You are right on a hill by your self with great view.
We can't wait to come back!

Staying here for two nights because of reviews we saw online as we heading south down the coast. Its about 20 minutes off Interstate 95 but well worth it. Owners are unbelievably nice. Showed us the grounds and told us of the history of the grounds...very interesting. Restrooms are spotless, with showers that are better then at our home. Everything here is newly renovated with a loft above the office with games, books, and yes a flat screen TV. Pool is sparkling clean and yes...WIFI that accually works. We wish we could stay a week but we have to leave tomorrow to head south. BEST CAMPING SPOT...YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

So quiet, peaceful and clean here. We come every year and it never disappoints! The family who runs it are phenomenal. The trinkets in the office are such a nice change from the normal items you see at campgrounds. Love all of the historical stories about here as well

Had a great time over the weekend. Cabins have ac and mini fridge with full bathroom shower had good water presure and never had to worry about cold shower water even after 4 other people showered for 15 to 20 min each. Pool was clean and well kept but the arcade was closed i wished they had put that on thier website that the arcada was no longer available since my husband and father were looking forward to checking it out other than that had a lovely relaxing weekend. Also thought it was nice that the staff would make rounds at 5 an hour before store closed to ensure campers had adequate fire wood for the night.

I won't just repeat what everyone else has written: Hospitality, quality, cleanliness, attentiveness etc as I wholeheartedly agree with all of these comments!
But, I'll add:
1) There is a huge amount of space in this campsite, with very few RVs in a vast grassy area....which makes a nice change from most campgrounds.
2) The pool is very good, clean and tidy. Lots of chairs and loungers around it.
3) A big 'well done' to the owners for re-using as much of the old hotel as possible in the construction of the present buildings. I don't know of any campground that takes such care in the decor, and putting that bit extra into the build to incorporate 'nostalgia'!

Special thanks to the host and hostess Don and Valerie for designing and building such a great facility!. Their warmth and hospitality are rare these days.

The campground offers shaded sites, full sun, spacious drive through lots, a completely redone pool and bathrooms, tons of wide open space and terrain for little ones, or just a nice walk. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful.

They also feature a well stocked camp store, and offer quint cottages if the camping/RV scene isn't your thing. They are located away from the urban sprawl, but close enough to some great places like a package store or 7-11. Enjoy your stay!

5 stars! This is a beautiful park! The grounds are well maintained, the facilities are as nice as home, and the folks that run the park are lovely!
All in all, we have had a wonderful visit and will definitely return to Grandview when we are back in New England.

A wonderful small campground with owners who are very attentive to the needs of their customers. They are also constantly improving their facility, much unlike most places I've camped. Stayed in a cabin in my recent visit and was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new bathroom and a Fujitsu ductless heating/cooling system you hear about on radio and tv. This alone made it more comfortable than staying in most hotels that have those noisy wall units for heating & cooling the room. Sure, this isn't exactly "roughing it", but there are tent sites for the hearty types, and RV sites for those who need the comforts of home while traveling.

My son and I stayed here for 2 nights in the Sleepy Hollow Cabins. The cabin was very clean and the Hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful!! Alicia took time out of her night and came to our cabin while we were roasting marshmallows around the campfire and told us a campfire story. Nothing but good things about this place and we will be back in the fall for another couple of nights!! Thank you Valerie and Alicia!!
