Alright, here’s the deal. I’m a gigantic shill for DRP, all my friends know it. Something about their pizza does it for me, favorite style, super well done for that particular style, and it’s relatively affordable.

I also love their subs, all of them. Shout out to the steak bomb and the TKO (chicken bacon ranch, honey mustard, mozzarella).

They’re quick, the people are always SUPER SUPER SUPER friendly, and food comes out hot.

But here’s the deal… they need a rebrand.

I’ve seen burritos on the menu there for years and never thought to get one. With that said, nothing about this place screams “Greek” to me besides the font on the menu and the Ακρόπολις on the logo (alright maybe a few of the specialty pizzas - moussaka and town hall, I see you. Gyros, ολα εν ταξη, relax.)

Tonight I finally did it, I got the carne asada burrito that they had on special and it blew my socks off. For $12 (market rate for the area IMO) you get a huge burrito, wrapped and easy to eat, no dripping, they grilled it, tons of steak and avocado. Man oh man, it hit the spot and I’m just so happy I could cry.

Deep River Pizza Mexican. I don’t know if anyone that works there is Mexican, I don’t know if burritos are inherently Mexican, I don’t know what I don’t know and I want to be better.

What I do know is that people need to know about this.

Chester, Deep River, Essex is grossly devoid of a Mexican spot that’s open late BUT this is at least maybe Mexican adjacent and open late enough for me (9 pm weekdays, 10pm weekends).

Get down to Deep River Pizza (Mexican?) and get yourself a burrito. You’re going to be mad that nobody told you to do it before.

This place is so nice it wasn’t busy when we came but the person who took our order was sweet. I got the fried chicken BLT and man is it so good. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something quick.

This is an excellent restaurant. The food is amazing and there is a great selection. One of my favorite places to get pizza.

We found this little spot by chance. Passing through and wanted a quick lunch. Staff were so friendly and genuine. Our food was delicious, fresh and served fast. A great find.

After suffering a fire, DRP is open again 2 doors down from the last location. Always good Greek pizza, so give it a try in the new location, and support the staff that always does such a good job.

I love the Fried chicken BLT wrap or the Chicken Caesar wrap with fried Chicken. Reliable delivery too!

When I came to pick up my pizza, the gentleman who was in the kitchen said he accidentally burned my pizza and was in the middle of making me a fresher one. I've never had an experience like that, 10/10

Was sorry when the original owner passed and they closed down for awhile, but the team came back and did him proud. Even better than I remember.

Excellent Greek pizza plus great heroes, fries, mozzarella sticks etc. Our kids love the food there and the people there are very nice.

Let me put it this way: ordering “Spicy chicken pizza and ranch” will give you new definition of word A M A Z I N G. 😀Hands down - best thing I ate this year! Worth every penny to take off from Rt9 and pick it up. Tried teriyaki grinder too - AWESOME!

This pizza is the best I don't know what they do every time I order this pizza it's always on point it's always consistent very fresh ingredients just absolutely delicious. I drive 20 minutes just to get this pizza 🥰🥰🥰♥♥♥♥ just keep it up love you guys.

It's pretty easy to leave a review since I'm completely bias. I lived behind Deep River Pizza when I was a kid and ever since then they've been great. John used to give us free slices of pizza out the back door. He's an all right guy. We've always gotten our pizza here growing up. I'd recommend any specials that they have going on.

We had a delicious lip smacking hot corned beef Ruben. Staff is on the ball. Total atmosphere 5 star!

Deep River pizza is a gem. Great service, food and atmosphere. A tradtional neighborhood eatery right in the middle of town on main street where locals gather for good food and a chat.
This is an update: The owner passed away suddenly and will be missed. One of his employees bought the business and continues to, thus far, honor John's awesome style of food and service.

Great service as also great customer service pizza and the grinders a must have

We just moved to the area a year ago and this place is the absolute best place for pizza. Thr staff is incredibly friendly and the food it's amazing. I can speak highly enough about Deep River Pizza.

Never had a bad experience with delivery or takeout, fantastic pizzas and grinders, and staff is always super nice. Best pizza in the area, IMHO.

They have great pizza and apps , fast service and great delivery .
