Absolutely stunning place to stay for rustic camping. Very hard to find without a map. There is no service in this space. I brought my Atlas and had no problem finding it but can see many people getting lost along the way. The rustic camping is free of charge. Some sites have a fire ring built and left behind for use. Some sites you have to build it yourself using rocks.
There is a string of sites to pick from along the minister creek. Some are more secluded than others. Arrive early for the best picks. Good fishing and good hiking up to the lookout. The animals are active so be sure to leave your food in your car. There are black bears. Absolutely under no circumstances leave food in your tent. The bugs were biting so be sure to bring spray or citronella candles.
Buy these things before you get to the Allegheny forest the small towns don’t have much in their stores and what they do have is expensive. Unless you are a fan of stimulating the local economy, then be sure to save your hotdog and hamburger shopping for the small town Tops and Dollar General.
If you are looking for a very natural and laid back experience come to Minister Creek, if you want campsites side by side with staff and restrooms go to Dewdrop.

I love it here. Cheap camping and it was good for my husband because he had never been roughing it so I am easing him in slowly

Clean, inexpensive, and peaceful. A restroom is a great amenity when you are tent camping. People were respectful and courteous.

Nice quiet place to pitch a tent. Only 6 sites here with a clean outhouse!

We camped on the free side as opposed to the fee side - next to the parking lot by the trail head. Right by the creek, it was beautiful and peaceful. Everything I wanted tin a campsite.

Access to about a dozen primitive (free) sites from the parking lot in addition to the pay sites. The area was absolutely beautiful in late fall/early winter with snow on the ground. Very well maintained and marked trails nearby. Overall very happy to have found this gem of an area

A beautiful place to camp and hike! The trail is well maintained, and is easily one of the most stunning spots of Allegheny National Forest. There are numerous camp sites in and around around the campground and trail, making multi-day hikes easier to plan.

One of my personal favorites. First come first serve camping, and an absolutely fantastic hike. Each loop is slightly different. I took the entire hike as three separate loops doubling back over each one to make sure we saw every square inch – it’s that beautiful!

Didn't camp but sites in the campground proper are well-maintained, heavily wooded primitive sites, half along the creek itself. $12 per night, pay on site.
Many primitive disbursed sites with rock fire rings on both sides of the road, hike-in or park in the Minister Creek Loop parking lot.
Lovely "fishing trail" follows the creek while paralleling the lollipop of the trail proper, and you can make a
another short loop of it plus the north loop connector to the main.

This is one of the most gorgeous camp grounds you can find. The only drawback is that sites are very limited. For $12 per night you get a site large enough to fit a car/camper (probably even both), a metal fire pit, a picnic table, and easy access to pit toilets. The hiking is a bit on the challenging side for novice hikers like me, but the view is incredible

It's terrible, never come here, it's way too peaceful alongside the burbling creek, way too many nice hiking trails accessible right from camp, and the potable water from the hand pump well is too cool and delicious.

My family and i had a blast camping here! So easy to find, there are so many (MANY) camp sites and every one of them are situated right up against the river or creek and they are pretty big! There are trails all over the place to explore and enjoy the scenery! We will most definitely be back as much as we can!

This is a very nice remote campground. The part that is charged is $12/night (honor system), there is a great loop style hiking trail that connects to much longer trails as well.

A very nice spot to camp with a stream and some privacy. There are some beautiful trails and an overlook. I would never grow old of going there.
