Lafayette Memorial Park

I happened to call the number on the website for this particular cemetery on 5.27.24 at around 1234 hrs from Miami Florida. I needed to confirm a grave site, whether the flowers had arrived on time and if the Veteran's Flag had been erected properly.

A lady by the name of Barbara Ordonez, a family services counselor answered the phone and patiently listened to my requests and questions. Luckily for me she was not busy and actually went to the grave sites and took photos of the area and returned them to my cell as text messages (jpegs). She probably spent 45 minutes completing my request. The pictures were perfect and she alleviated my concerns.

Throughout the entire series of communications she was patient, courteous, professional and seemed genuinely sincere and concerned. I think she should be rewarded with a good review and I'm sure the entire staff located at this cemetery handles requests in the same manner.

Kudos to the management and Ms. Ordonez. She also advised me that all the flowers are artificial due to wildlife incursions. I was not aware of this and when I order flowers I was never told by the florist that real flowers are not sent which leads me to believe the florist I am using has not been upfront with me.

I lost my husband on January 6, 2024. Barbara met with my son and I. She was very sympathetic and kind and went over everything throughly. In such a difficult time it is nice to have someone so kind and supportive. Just today my father and I met with Barbara, she wanted to make sure our paperwork was up to date. Again she was kind & thoughtful and made sure our deeds were up to date even having them reprinted out for us. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with her. I wish all business had employees like her, it makes doing business so pleasurable.

My family has 4+ generations at Lafayette. The new ownership/ management and service at Lafayette has substantially become better in the last year. My father passed in 2021 and we shortly met with a rep from the previous ownership. We ordered a memorial marker for my father (a granite bench for the graveside) in Feb 2022. This marker was never ordered. It will be approximately 3 1/2 years before my father gets a marker.

I just went back last week and thank God for Barbara O. Barbara spent considerable time discussing with us what we needed to do. (Start over again). Being from Florida now, I flew back this week and met with her this morning. Barbara went above and beyond for us and spent extra time helping my mom and I get the marker ordered. Her professionalism is great and she will care for your family well.

I am so thankful that Lafayette has new management and actually cares for the customers. Barbara is an extraordinary representative for Lafayette and I am glad I now can work with her and not the other.

Barbara took a work order for my parents grave and called when when the work was completed. She also assisted me in a deed transfer and explained the various options concerning burials. She was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely concerned about my family. Thanks Barbara.

I brought Easter Flowers to brighten up my mothers grave marker. I wanted to clean the vases before just placing the flowers. I was struggling removing the vase. Mr. Scott was able to remove it with ease for me! Thanks to him I was able to place the flowers to make it look beautiful for mom.

I recently went to cemetary looking for the grave of my aunt. It had been years since I had been to visit her grave. Therefore, I was not entirely sure where her resting place was located. Luckily, I was able to enlist the help of Scott. He was very eager to help. He was very patient and helped me locate her grave. It was very beautifully kept and quite peaceful there.

At one of the worst times of my life, the death of my son, I met Barbara at LaFayette Memorial Park. Her patience and understanding helped me through this difficult time. She is an exceptional person, a caring person, and I can never thank her enough for her heartfelt time. I recommend her most highly and I thank her.

Mrs. Ordonez, is the one to talk too to get all prearrangement information and how to get and keep your information up to date that is on file.

The staff was very friendly, our representative Barb made us feel very comfortable talking about out final needs.We would recommend that you stop in and see her if you have any questions about your final needs

Scott Schwartz was extremely helpful and friendly. He took the time to explain everything to me and was very knowledgeable.

Recently our florist delivered flowers for the holidays to my parents’ gravesite. I was very displeased with the condition of the site and unkept area surrounding their plaque. Upon speaking with Geoff Richter, he was apologetic and expressed concern and stated it would be taken care of. Within one business day, the mud was cleaned from their plaque and the overgrown grass removed and made presentable. Kudos to Mr. Richter and his staff for making every effort to make my parents’s burial site neat, trimmed and properly maintained.

I just want to say how impressed I am at the improvement of the upkeep of the grounds. I was walking through the other day and the ground crew was hard at work. They were doing a wonderful job and respectful as well. I have a number of family members here and come regularly. The change has been outstanding. Thank you for trying to maintain a beautiful setting for our loved ones. It's understandable when there are areas that are disrupted for work that needs done, hopefully people will understand this.

A lot has been going on, that I have noticed. Lawn care, tree pruning, road repairs and event's. It's nice to see.
