Gravel Pit Park

Great park that has been recently updated (they did keep the old turtle for everyone that remembers!) and is very well maintained. Large playground, plenty of space for walking/exercising/biking. Several shelters that can be reserved for private events. Close parking and handicapped accessible as well.

My family likes to take a walk here. It's free. Nice newly updated fenced in kids playground. Restrooms are large and clean. Little to no traffic while we walk. Picnic tables are available.

We took our two girls, 11 months and 3yo. The playground is awesome. A lot of options. Items that aren't at other parks. Very big area. This has earned our top of the list.

Love taking the family down to play at the playground and have lunch.

This place was absolutely beautiful. For a public park, the bathrooms were great! There are 3 pavilions on the property and a park right in the center of them. It would be a perfect place to hold any event! Our pavilion had a little kitchen area with a fridge.

Enjoyed a family party at one of the pavilions. Everything was well taken care of.

North East, let’s think of a more attractive name for this municipal gem of a park! Great picnic pavilions, play field, and playground. Very family friendly. We had our very well-behaved large dog off-leash without any kind of problem.

Playground is old and fun because of this. Pavilions are good. Bathroom remodel was done well. I do miss the exercise stations but they were removed due to safety concerns.

Dogs are welcome, but please keep dogs leashed and pick up after them. No dogs in playground area.

Man, this place is great. I've lived around here for a long time, and I can't think of a single visit to this park that wasn't worth it.

I've been here for picnics, and the Wine Festival, and various birthdays and reunions and music events and celebrations. Always a hoot.

Years ago they used to let us go out to the actual, functioning gravel pit and shoot guns when they weren't working, so that was cool. Some jerks kept blasting TVs and liquor bottles, so they put the kibosh on that. You know who you are, you punks, and you're the reason we can't have nice things.

Nowadays I mostly go here to fly radio controlled aircraft, and it's a really nice spot for that. There's a big open field where I used to practice throwing boomerangs, and there are trees and pavilions to powerloop, and there's a bandstand to hide in when it rains.

The playground has some miles on it, but I'm too old and chicken to jump off the swings anymore, so that doesn't hurt me any.

About fifteen years ago a girl invited me to do part of the Appalachian Trail with her. I had a huge crush on the girl so I agreed. I ran the fitness course at Gravel Pit wearing a fifty-pound pack every day to get in shape. She wound up marrying a handsome doctor. Good for her.

Very nice graduation party 6/9/19. Park has lots of nice grassy areas and nice covered areas with picnic tables. We are blessed to have such a NE park. Thanks!🎂

Very nice place, well kept bathrooms.

Had a bday party there . Playground for the kids , oven , cooler for all the drinks . Covered pavilion . Can't beat it . And a great price to rent for most of the day . Thank you .

We held a benefit here for my father about a month ago. The pavilion was beautiful. If i ever need to do another big event this will be my choice.
