Coalesce Bookstore

Amazing experience earlier today. My fiancé got a $5 book, but our cash was in the car (no debit charges under $10). The wonderful owner let us leave WITH THE BOOK, the receipt inside and told us to bring our cash back later. She said “You have to learn to trust people.” Was very sweet of her, we were back within 5min with our cash, had her keep the change. Will always come back after grabbing a coffee next door at top dog! Thank you, have an amazing new year.

We need far more bookstores like this — love it. An independent store offering a very nice selection of new and used books in a perfect atmosphere, right down to the welcoming used book smell that greets you when you go through the front door. I love the availability of chairs and stools that invite you to sit and test drive a book or two. Be sure to step out back into the garden and check out the chapel available for rent.

My husband and I had our wedding in the chapel last month and it was perfect! The staff were so friendly and accommodating we couldn’t have asked for more! The chapel was the right size for our guests and with the lush garden it was exactly what we wanted! My husband and I were married 17 years ago at the Garden Chapel. It was just the right place for us. It was a beautiful day. Linna the owner of the bookstore precided over our wedding and she did an amazing job. We would go back to Morro Bay often and miss going back since we moved out of state.

Independent bookstores are always a wonderful experience and this one is an amazing throwback to an interesting eran in a small California coastal town. Please do something lovely for yourself and spend some time visiting !

This bookstore is so quaint and peaceful. When you first enter you feel a great welcoming vibe and books just surround you. Employees are nice and helpful. The garden in the back is a nice place to escape. It's a great local place in the mix of all the tourism in Morro Bay.

Did not expect such a cozy little bookstore in Morro Bay. It's also right next to a coffee shop which is a definite plus. A ton of different sections and topics available for perusing and just gives off cozy old bookstore vibes.

This whole in the wall bookstore is a treasure. Peaceful, serene, tranquil and it always smells amazing. My family and I have been coming to Morro Bay since 2004 and we always come to the Coalesce Bookstore. There are always hidden gems when we come here! It is always a pleasant experience. Wonderful bookstore, walking in you immediately get the sense of entering a very special place. It's the kind of shop I used to dream about working at and maybe even running myself back when I dreamed big. During my visit I was excited to find a few paperbacks I haven't been able to find anywhere else and had to stop looking at the books or I would have spent too much money! The store also has an amazing collection of jigsaw puzzles, many that I hadn't seen before. Which is saying something! The only other thing I could wish for is that this business was closer to where I live. But if I have to make regular pilgrimages to Morro Bay in order to visit Coalesce Bookstore, so be it! 😀

I’ve been coming here and visiting on vacations since I was a young kid. I love the vibe and I love used books. Also doubles as a wedding venue in the super cute back area. Only got a peek but I wouldn’t say no if that was a place my husband had chosen. Owners deserve every sale, nothing but good vibes and positivity from this location.

I was fortunate to meet the owner of Coalesce, Linna, who has owned and operated her store for over 30 years. She is an extremely kind and caring woman, with a rich history on the Central Coast. When somebody runs a local business that long and maintains a great reputation, it says something about their character, integrity, and resiliency. Her staff appear to respect her leadership, as do other local business leaders. Hope you get to meet this awesome business leader and her stellar staff!

Stopped here on the way to Big Sur looking for a classic to take with me. Purchased a used copy of 20000 Leagues Under the Sea and a deck of tarot cards. They have a wonderful selection of new and used books. Highly recommend!

This quaint book store has something for everyone, from books to candles, to incense to personal service. Love the friendliness of the people who work there.

It’s Traditional to make sure we stop here at this bookstore. Been going here for about 2 years. Coming down from Fresno love it here customer service is superb! The love is Real.

A wonderful bookstore. It smells wonderful. The chapel in the back is beautiful and the flora and fauna is stunning. I would live there if possible.
