VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa

While the room we had was a tad small, the service was excellent. We had an issue with our sliding glass door and it was fixed very quickly. We had a couple other issues, but Michael (the front office manager, I believe), ensured they made it right. The property is beautiful and in a great location.

I dropped my very sentimental ring down the sink in the bathroom and called the front desk. They sent the most exceptional service person up to the room and so fast coming up. He found the ring even though it took him 20 minutes and was so kind. His name is Jose and I wanted to leave him a review because this is what good service looks like. Really enjoyed my stay here as well. Thanks for everything.

Stay here! This is the most beautiful hotel, offering an absolutely incredible experience! Everything from the gorgeous pool to the chic rooms (many with amazing views) is perfectly designed and maintained. The staff are all friendly and helpful! You can easily walk to Balboa Island, or just across the street to fashion island. But you may not want to leave! In the evenings, the pool and bar take on a sophisticated night club type of feel. Our cocktails at Reveal (the bar) were exceptional! You will be so glad you booked here!!

In a word: Stunning! Came to visit for a family anniversary party and stayed a couple extra nights. Absolutely blown away by the exceptional level of service, attention to detail, and the beautiful location. Every meal we had in the restaurant and the lounge was fantastic, and the dinner for our private event might be the most delicious and beautiful banquet I’ve ever experienced. Even our housekeeping consistently went above and beyond and were so friendly. We cannot wait to come back.

What a wonderful resort! And, if I could give it six stars for location, I would! I've always loved staying here since you can shop, walk to Balboa Island, and with a car go up to LA or down to San Diego for a day. The hotel is beautiful, and I highly recommend the chop salad in the restaurant served by an incredible staff. Also, the oatmeal cookies at the coffee stand in the gorgeous lobby are delicious. The rooms are great, and the pool and outlook says vacation!

The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and modern. I especially liked the modern wooden theme of the room, the decoration, and the soap in the showers. I had a good night’s sleep, the beds were comfortable. There is also a free shuttle to the beach which was a nice touch. The food was pretty good and I enjoyed my stay here!

The wristbands made me so angry and ruined my stay here. Thanks!
Edit: My opinions on the wristband have not at all changed, however, the fact that the owner left a response to this made me remember how the service was genuinely amazing. If I went down to the front desk I am almost certain they would have given me scissors or anything else to help with my issue. The stay here was flawless (other than the wristbands please change the pool wristband) and thank you for apologizing over something you really shouldn't ever have to apologize for.

My wife and I have been coming to this location for about 15 years now, this was our 1st time back since the Renovation and VEA Rebrand. Renovation was really excellent, Hotel Common Areas are very open, modernized and more accessible. Main Foyer opening to outdoors, main restaurant & bar just off foyer, at pool stairway, with views out back and outdoor seating directly overlooking pool with full views of Ocean is all fabulous. Night Club is super cool, cozy and hip, also conveniently located just off foyer and main hall to pool stairs, just opposite of restaurant. The Pool Areaand, new outdoor Bar, Pool Loungers, Umbrellas and overall Space is Fantastic. Super comfortable Loungers and first time we have seen Lounge Chair Towels / Covers with Pockets that allow you to secure the Towel Cover to the top of the Lounge Chair, so nice. We were upgraded to a Top Floor Room with a Direct Ocean and Pool view which was beautiful. The room was very nicely updated, really clean and well designed and appointed. The Bathroom was Excellent, with a private toilet closet and Fab shower with glass on both sides allowing you to see through the sleeping area to the big sliding windows and view to the outdoors, also providing great natural light and making the whole space feel larger and open. Room included a Nespresso Machine and Pods, mini fridge and great TV Setting against clean TV style backing. Lighting for room and Bed - Headboard area was very classy, cool and functional. We had Breakfast at the Restaurant 2 mornings, with Free Coupons, (for 2, included with room / status, and our food was both beautifully presented and delicious. Service everywhere we went was gracious, helpful and professional. The only thing we noted that we did not love was the Resort Fee and Daily Parking Fees.
We really enjoyed our stay and experience and very much look forward to coming back.

(update) I've been back few more times and the service and follow through has been great across the board.

I like the resort. Great rooms, pool is great, location is great. Just disappointed that l left my electric toothbrush in the room and despite calling a couple of times, never heard back from them. Even after speaking with someone. They were going to check and .... No call back.

Beautifully renovated hotel. Incredible fitness facilities with generous outdoor turf (great for CrossFit/personal fitness videos). Decent room service. I was here for an offsite meeting. Catering was great. Pool made me jealous. Giving service 3 stars due to 3 very odd encounters with staff:

1 - I leave my suitcase open with clean clothes on one side and worn on the other. First day after my room was cleaned I came back to my suitcase closed. I can appreciate the staff is trying to make the room look as clean as possible—just super annoying to re sort my stuff. To prevent this happening again I put a note on my suitcase before I left my room the next day that said “DO NOT TOUCH.” Guess what? Came back, suitcase closed, my note moved to the nightstand.bevy annoying.

2 and 3 - I ordered room service twice at night and both times the male staff (albeit trying to be friendly) lingered inside my room a bit too long. I will no longer say yes when they ask to bring my food in. Just awkward friendly conversation, but uncomfortable.

Overall would gorgeous hotel but service staff needs training.

I can't evaluate the rooms here since I just had a drink at the View.

I had a mocktail (Rome something) that was very refreshing. I sat outside where I had a view of the pool and the golf course beyond it.

The menu looked good, but I didn't order any food.

Absolutely stunning. Rooms were designed well. Bathroom/shower are beautiful. Clean. Spacious. Valet only but easily validated with any purchase. Beautiful views. Great staff! Bar/restaurant was great.

I went to Vea on a work event and was astonished and impressed with the amenities and friendly staff. The bar was fantastic too. Great ambiance and overall nice place to relax. Decided to treat myself to a well deserved massage and wanted to see what Spa Vea had to offer. Boy was that the best decision I made on this trip! Tammi is God sent. The best massage I’ve ever had. Thorough, attentive to detail, and very personable. My standards have definitely went up after this massage. Now I know what a great massage should feel like. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend Vea to anyone. Thanks Vea!

Great place. Very very friendly staff. Resort feel. Beautiful pool. Nice views while dining. Views of golf course & ocean lovely.

I went to the VEA to celebrate a dear friend's 50th birthday. We have amazing food, great signature drinks she picked for her celebration.

I had a drink called What's Up Doc, it was a Casamigos Blanco Tequila based drink with carrot juice, jalapeno, and chili powder mixture on the outside it was delicious. It has a cute little baby carrot as a garnish. If you like these ingredients I recommend you try it.
The Lanai was beautiful overlooking a large pool, bar, as we enjoyed watching a breath taking sunset.

The service was excellent, the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The valet service was great directing us to the accessible parking (which they have a great amount of spaces). It was easy to navigate with my giddy up (aka wheelchair) as it was spacious even on the Lanai where we spent most of our time.

I have to say the bathroom was clean, however the door to get in was heavy, and I didn't have my "exit buddy"to open the door. Thank goodness for the kind young lady that cleaning the bathroom was kind to assist me with the door.
Other than the small snafu with the bathroom, I really did enjoy our time at the VEA, and would actually consider going back for dinner or to stay overnight.

We had an amazing time staying at VEA Newport Beach. The property is stunning! The rooms are decorated so well (chic and modern) and are very clean. Viktor Jovanov, Rooms Operations Manager, checked us in and was extremely welcoming and helpful. He made our stay lovely! When we booked, we booked for the convenience to the beach and good restaurants, we had no idea that the ambiance of the property and the above and beyond service of the staff would make our experience ten times better than we anticipated!! Thank you Viktor and the rest of the VEA staff, we cannot wait to come back!

My wife and I celebrated our 11 year anniversary with a little staycation at the VEA. I have to say the place is a well oiled machine and we're planning to make this a recurring trip. The service, amenities (pool/gym/spa/restaurant) and atmosphere are worth the price of the stay. More specifically, I was blown away by the Director of Restaurants (Stacie Garcia). She was top-notch, was always available and made sure her guests received the best experience possible. The only knock I have on the place is that it was chilly at the pool. If they can find a way to have the sun come out when people are swimming then this place would be a 6 out of 5.

Here for a work event and added a few days for fun. This is a wonderful venue! Food service and staff were outstanding during the meeting. The staff without exception were hospitable and professional. There is attention to every detail and accommodations are extraordinarily well-kept and clean. I hope to stay again someday!
