Gibroni's Pizza

First time trying Detroit style pizza and it is fantastic! One 8x10 is good for 2 people. 1 person if you are super hungry. Adult beverage selection was great! If they were not so busy, I would have ordered a second round of drinks. Since it was my first time there I do not know if how busy they were was typical or not, but it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. We were quoted an hour. I will absolutely give again, but might try closer to closing.

Near perfect Detroit style pizza. As good, if not better than the real stuff in MI. I got the plain pizza + pepperonis and ordered it “well done”, which is a modification you can and should make.

I worried there wouldn’t be enough pepperonis on the pizza since they have one of those on the menu, but I thought they gave me an adequate amount. I drove the pizza down to the beach and luckily it didn’t lose any of its crunch in the 5-10 min commute.

Gibroni’s pizza at the SC beach is pretty much heaven. I highly recommend this place.

We took a family vacation to Oceanside. Originally from Michigan (live in Vegas), but had to make the 25 minute drive north to try some Detroit style pizza.

We ordered the D, and cheese breadsticks. The pizza was thick, and delicious. Breadsticks were outstanding! According to my family, the ranch was “amazing!”

Service was attentive. The place was hopping on a Sunday night, and we missed the rush, according to our server.

We will be stopping in again next time we come to the beach. Highly recommended if you want authentic, Detroit style pizza.

After a few recent Detroit-style pizza reviews by Dave Portnoy, I had to find a good spot in OC. Drove more than 20 miles and Gibroni’s totally scratched the itch - really awesome pizza.

Reached out to the business on Instagram and they confirmed that they welcome dogs! We had a party of 4 and snagged a table in less than 10 minutes. We ordered beverages from JDs and then pizza from Gibroni's.
It was a bit cool while we waited; there is a breeze through the seating area so you may want a sweater.

All the pizza were amazing and the dough was cooked to perfection. No burning or undercooked areas. Service was great and we will definitely be back again.

Detroit style pizza at its best. Traveling all the way from the north OC to snatch up this tasty pizza is so worth it. What is better than a great tasting pizza? Well, a great tasting GLUTEN FREE pizza. My gosh they nailed that recipe down! Doesn't taste like cardboard like those other pizza joints. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Pizza takes longer than your traditional pizza but they are pretty fast here. A few beers on tap. Nice little patio area to eat your pizza on the spot. Highly recommend this place. All pics are gluten free items.

Wow! We are impressed! Great pizza and unlike anything we have in San Clemente. We ordered the From the D with added jalapeno and the Fun Guys. Both were excellent and bigger than we expected. Great toppings and sauce, super creamy cheese and unreal thick, buttery crust. Our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) only finished one of the two large pizzas. It was even better for lunch the next day.
It's not the cheapest or the fastest (90 minutes from order to pickup) but well worth the wait. This is handmade thick crust pizza. We will definitely be back.

After being in Detroit a week prior I was excited to see a Detroit style pizza place in my town.
The staff at gibronis where very welcoming and man the PIZZA WAS AMAZING!!! Top five pizza in my lifetime. I’ll be back and I recommend you try it to. crispy edges soft core zesty sauce double pepperoni not much else to ask for!

Finally got to try the Detroit style pizza made by a guy from Detroit. I 10/10 recommend you try this pizza as soon as you can. The corner slices are perfect with crispy corners with quality toppings. Don't forget to order some cheese bread also 🔥🔥

I had no idea what Detroit-style pizza was, but we have been hooked since the first taste! Consistently good food! We love The Baba with extra cheese! Don’t forget the hot honey!

Ordered pizza from Gibroni's on our drive back to San Diego from SoFi stadium and it hit the spot for sure. Everything was ready right when we got there and was exactly what we were hungry for. Pizzas were perfectly cooked, crunchy bottom of the crust and the inside nice and doughy with the perfect amount of toppings and sauce. We ordered the Cranch salad and it was super tasty as well. All delicious and so filling. We will definitely make our way back up for pizza soon.

Since moving to southern California in 2011, the only thing we ever complained about living here was that there was no great pizza shops around. Then came Gibronis with its Detroit Style pizza. They knock it out of the park with flavor. The crust is so buttery with the right amount of crisp on the outside and pillow like softness on the inside. And if you’re gluten free- they have you so covered you won’t believe you’re eating GF. Nothing stale and tasteless here! The toppings- forget it- awesome. All of them. Our favorites are From the D and Fun Guys but don’t sleep on the appetizer breads- they are all awesome. Oh and do.not.forget.the.CRANCH. Get a couple of those. You don’t need them but you want them. Oh and they started selling stuffed cookies from a local company, Salt and Rosemary. Of course they are great and a nice sweet treat at the end of all that pizza goodness. Go get some Gibronis!

Highly recommend, it was a little bit of a wait, but that's because the place is new and the pizza is awesome. Its worth the wait. Their bar a full and they have local selections as well.

Popped in here headed from LA to San Diego for a quick bite. I honestly don't care for deep dish (Detroit style) pizza but wow! The Baba was legit, my friend got the GF crust and also loved it. Chill vibes and definitely worth the stop.

I've been wanting to try Detroit style pizza and this place for awhile and happy I finally did. I got a sausage pizza and it was delicious. Lots of cheese, great sauce and crust, and heavy amounts of sausage. Very filling. I'm definitely going to try the double pepperoni next.

So excited to finally have some real delicious pies on the best coast!!! Thanks Gibroni’s for bringing the tastiest part of Detroit to our neck of the woods!!!!! Already drooling over my next order, while my current order is in front of me!

This place easily lives up to the hype. I mean, just look at the photo - delicious hand crafted pies from scratch (takes ~25 min after ordering), and it’s worth the wait. We ordered the Cabana, and it’s easily some of the best pizza I’ve had. We’ll be back!

The pizza was AMAZING! At first when I saw my husband with the box I was skeptical of it being enough until I picked a piece up. The dough is thick and heavy but chewy and delicious right amount of delicious sauce and the best pepperoni with different thicknesses and crunch they were cupping pepperoni. The cheese was amazing as well. Great pizza one of the best I’ve had! The pizza is also very greasy but so worth it.

Best pizza I've had in my life. The dough is soft and spongy with a nice crispy bottom, the sauce is fantastic, and their cheese blend is delicious.

My fiance and I always look forward to Gibroni's pizza! I think we've had just about all the pizzas and you seriously can't go wrong with anything.

The pizza in the pic here is a half pepperoni and a have Caprice Classic. We've gotten this exact pizza a good several times.

Do yourself a favor and give it a go. These guys absolutely kill it!
