The Cellar

Ended up grabbing a table at this restaurant on a very busy Mother’s Day. While most restaurants turned us down for no reservation and no walk-ins on special days, The Cellar was very happy to accommodate us on their pet friendly patio. Food was great and reasonably priced. I had the burrata and beet salad and I really enjoyed it. Staff and customers were equally friendly.

My first time visiting this lovely cellar. It was a perfect day for a perfect alfresco lunch. We ordered the Spanish Charcuterie to start with, and although it appeared to be small, it was exactly enough for two to share. Every item was a standout on its own, and the mix was devine! I also ordered the chicken & waffles, and my friend ordered the beet salad. It was all delicious. Our server was the best, very attentive, but not overbearing.
I give this place a 5 across the board, because we left feeling so pampered. I highly recommend stopping here, and, I certainly plan to return.

Happy Hour review:
Five stars! The happy hour menu is excellent. We had the cheese plate and tater tots which was a great snack. The cheese plate is carefully crafted and comes with some creative accompaniments. The cheese monger here is clearly passionate and knowledgeable!

I also want to shout out their lavender caramel latte. This drink was incredible, with the lavender infused into the caramel and swirled on the outside of the glass. An extremely memorable latte!

A true gem in the multitude of dining options along Del Mar Avenue in downtown San Clemente! A well thought out menu...small plates and larger! Great knowledgeable staff and a great cheese shop within to eat...or take away! They have Epoisses Cheese...best stinky cheese EVER!!!

We absolutely love The Cellar! Possibly the best environment for dinner in San Clemente. Just the right mix of chill and boisterous to make it really enjoyable. Fantastic menu, but they're happy hour is what draws us in. $10 cocktails and the best grilled cheese you've ever had in your life for $8. Worth the stop!

Our waiter Cody was professional and served us with the utmost attention. Even when there was a slight issue, it was immediately resolved and the item was removed from our bill.

We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend brunch chilaquiles and their OH so good friend chicken sandwich! Thank you for a wonderful date spot for my wife and me.

Went for happy hour and ordered off that menu. Cocktails were expertly prepared and in nicely chilled glasses. While their specialty is wine the cocktails were excellent. The 3 cheese board was exceptional, but could have had more bread and a variety of choices to mate the exquisite cheeses. The truffle popcorn was to die for, and the sliders were scrumptious.

One of the beat spots in San Clemente! A restaurant and wine bar, with some of the best food and best selection of wines. Service is -chefs kiss-, with excellent, friendly, and knowledgable staff ready to help you have a deliciously great time!

We recommend their steak, the beets, their kale salad, their red wine flight, their champagne flight … but most of all, their charcuterie and cheese boards. Divine!

I had the best time here. Vincent was our server and he was wonderful. Great suggestions. We will be back. Dog friendly!! So great!

Amazing bar / restaurant with fantatsic ambiance. There is limited seating outside but highly recommended if you can get it. Like being in a sidewalk cafe in Europe. The food is delicious and keeps us coming back everytime we are in SoCal. Staff is friendly and chatty. Great wine and beer selection as well. The best in San Clemente!

Great place to go when in San Clemente. Not sure if it was because it was Friday, but Happy Hour (400-600pm) attracted loads of people. Shawn and his team were so super efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Cheese platter excellent choice.

My friend and I went for breakfast during the week. It was quiet with a romantic atmosphere. It was open seating and the waitress was very nice. They have some vegan options. Their granola with almond milk and the chia seed pudding are both vegan. The have some delicious drinks as well. We got the hibiscus mimosa and the Bellini. Both were awesome. I'll definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area.

Quaint, cozy place. I had the Breakfast Burger without a bun. So much flavor! I can't imagine eating it with a bun and not being able to nap right after. The iced tea is fantastic as well. First time here and definitely not my last time.

Service was a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry. We got hummus plate and flatbread. All was good. Yummy mocktail too.

Great atmosphere, music wasn't very loud. Had a great time , beer was a little late in getting to the table but everything else was fine !

Great local place with great food, coffee and of course, wine! The staff is always smiling and incredibly helpful.

As always such a great experience. I just love the atmosphere here. And the deck outside is a great addition. Love the sunshine and wine 🍷 and great food.
Their cheese plate are some of the best. And the wines are a wonderful collection and you're sure to find one you like!

My wife and I live next to the pier. We are working on going to new restaurants in SC as we keep going to our favorite spots. But that the great thing about going somewhere new; it turns into a new favorite like the Cellar. Service was great, food was incredible and we had a fantastic $60 bottle. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm which allows for great conversation. I love my wife so much!

Really cool wine bar with a great "ecstatic hour." Great service and beer and wine selection. The fries and grilled cheese was fantastic--great twist on a staple menu option!
